Chapter 633: Chapter 633: Situ Xin Advancing (2)_1

"Muli, are you sure your wound is alright?" Loo Yaxin asked with a hint of worry as she looked at the wound on Xiao Muli’s chest. Situ Xin, too, had his eyes wide with concern for Xiao Muli.

"I’m fine; it’s not the wound. Just my leg’s a bit numb," Xiao Muli explained with a touch of embarrassment. As he did so, his gaze wandered to Situ Xin, and when he saw the worry in Situ Xin’s eyes, the corners of his mouth lifted slightly in a comforting smile. He patted Situ Xin’s hand reassuringly, signaling that he was fine and to put Situ Xin at ease.

"As long as you’re fine. Why don’t you sit here for a bit? I’ll go get some water for the baby," Situ Haotian thought about Xiao Muli’s injury and felt uneasy. Besides, fetching water for his daughter was something he was more than happy to do.

"Haotian, while you’re at it, call Gao Yong in to check on the baby," Old Master Loo called out, stopping Situ Haotian who was about to go get water for Situ Xin, and gave his instructions.

Reminded by Old Master Loo, Old Madam Situ, who had been leaning on the other side of Situ Xin’s hospital bed, finally snapped out of her joy at Situ Xin’s awakening. She quickly reached out her hand to touch Situ Xin’s forehead, wanting to check her current temperature.

When Old Madam Situ’s hand touched Situ Xin’s forehead, the cool sensation brought a broad smile to her face, "Thank goodness, the baby’s fever has gone down. Now, she will be fine."

"Amitabha, may Buddha’s blessing be upon us." Hearing Old Madam Situ say the fever had receded, Old Madam Loo couldn’t help but chant "Amitabha" to express her gratitude for Buddha’s protection.

When Gao Yong heard Situ Haotian mention that Situ Xin had woken up, he unconsciously found it hard to believe. At the time when he helped the Situ Family and Loo Family enter the intensive care unit, he had checked Situ Xin’s temperature, which was still at 43 degrees. The fever that had persisted all night, in his opinion, wasn’t likely to subside in such a short period. Without the fever going down, Situ Xin wouldn’t have been able to wake up.

Gao Yong would never reveal these thoughts to Situ Haotian, though. He was certain that if he did, the man before him would not care about his status and would likely throw a couple of heavy punches at his face.

During one short night together, Gao Yong gained a new understanding of Situ Xin’s position within the Situ and Loo families. It was the first time he felt that the rumors might not be all wrong: the Situ and Loo families really did treasure their only granddaughter as if she was the apple of their eye.

"I’ll come with you to take a look." No matter how improbable Gao Yong thought it was inside, he still followed Situ Haotian to the intensive care unit.

"Fine, but first, get me some boiling water. My baby just woke up and her throat is so dry that she can barely speak," Situ Haotian was not at all polite with Gao Yong, and without waiting for a reply, he found a disposable cup and filled it with water from the dispenser.

Following Situ Haotian into the intensive care unit, Gao Yong saw Situ Xin, surrounded by everyone, sitting on the hospital bed looking in high spirits.

Gao Yong rubbed his eyes unconsciously, wondering if he was seeing things, if the person sitting there was the same Situ Xin who lay on the bed with an unyielding fever just an hour before, for whom the doctors had virtually issued a critical condition notice in their hearts.

No matter how much he rubbed his eyes, there sat Situ Xin, alive and well, smiling at him with eyes brimming with laughter.

"Gao Yong, why are you just standing there? Hurry up and come over to examine my baby, see if the fever really is gone," Old Master Situ, seeing Gao Yong’s dazed look, frowned unhappily, wondering what on earth was wrong with him when his precious granddaughter had awoken.

"Oh, right. I’m coming now." Gao Yong was jerked back to reality by Old Master Situ’s stern scolding and approached Situ Xin’s bedside with a thermometer.

"Check again to see if my baby has any complications from the fever," Old Master Loo was more thorough and concerned that the previous high temperature might have caused complications.

"Yes, sir. Understood," Gao Yong replied while he still kept his eyes glued to Situ Xin, observing her closely.

Inside, he was extremely conflicted. You see, Situ Xin didn’t seem at all like someone who had just recovered from a fever that lasted all night. Judging from her complexion, she looked like a completely healthy person.

Yet, the previously elevated temperature was an undeniable fact before him.

No matter how conflicted and puzzled Gao Yong was, the result of Situ Xin’s temperature check came back, showing a complete return to normalcy. As for the potential complications following the high fever, Situ Xin knew there would be none. However, to ease her family’s mind, she cooperated fully with a thorough examination.

Of course, the examination’s result was clear: Situ Xin was entirely normal, without any complications from the fever. Her current health could be described as perfectly normal.

Gao Yong, upon seeing the final examination result, looked at Situ Xin with an expression full of things he wanted to say, alongside a look of confusion.

Situ Xin saw the look on Gao Yong’s face but chose not to address his confusion. Moreover, she couldn’t explain it even if she wanted to—should she tell Gao Yong that her fever wasn’t really a fever, but that she had suffered from ’cultivation deviation’?

If she said that, Gao Yong would likely think her brain got fried by the fever, and he might insist on taking her to the psychiatric ward.

Therefore, Situ Xin decided to ignore Gao Yong’s troubled expression.

Situ Xin had wanted to leave the hospital after waking up and completing a full check-up without any issues, but as soon as she mentioned it, she was met with unanimous opposition from everyone. They all gave Situ Xin the same firm answer, "No."

Such a crisp and decisive response forced Situ Xin to stay in the hospital she disliked for a while longer.

Of course, Situ Xin had since moved out of the intensive care unit. Now that she was in perfect health, it would have been a burden on her conscience to occupy the room any longer.
