Chapter 616: Chapter 616 Peeking at Their Treasure (3)_1

"Baby, let me tell you, that fashion show of yours last time was a smashing success,"

"Aunt Lu, I know all that, just let me get some sleep first, and we can talk after I wake up," Situ Xin said as she flopped down onto the bed to sleep.

"Eh, Baby, how can you go to sleep? I still have things to say," Lu Juan said as she watched Situ Xin lay down to sleep. She hurriedly spoke up.

"Aunt Lu, whatever it is, can you just wait until I wake up? I’m sleepy," Situ Xin’s voice got softer and softer as she spoke, eventually drifting off to sleep. Lu Juan had no choice but to wait for Situ Xin to wake up when she saw her asleep.

When Situ Xin woke up, Lu Juan pulled her aside and told her all about her experiences at BL, and alongside the stories, Lu Juan handed her a huge stack of papers, puzzling Situ Xin who didn’t understand what they were for. Even Loo Yaxin and the others sitting aside didn’t comprehend why Lu Juan would give Situ Xin such a stack of papers.

When Lu Juan revealed that these were the measurements for clothes that people wanted to have custom-made, everyone’s mouths fell open in surprise.

Apparently, many people who had approached Lu Juan to request custom-made clothes had left their measurements even without meeting the designer in person, hoping that Situ Xin, the designer, would create clothes for them.

Holding the stack of papers and listening to Lu Juan, Situ Xin was a mix of amused and frustrated.

Looking at the stack in her hands, Situ Xin instinctively wanted to refuse. She did have a spatial magical artifact, and the space inside was many times larger than the outside world. But the idea of designing and then coming up with so many pieces of clothing in such a short period made her shudder at the thought.

Lu Juan had watched Situ Xin grow up, and Situ Xin never hid her emotions in front of her family members. Before Situ Xin could speak, Lu Juan was already a step ahead, saying, "Baby, you can’t refuse me. These orders I’ve brought back are very important for ’Xin’ Clothing to establish a steady footing overseas, so you really can’t say no."

"I..." Situ Xin began to voice her opinion but was interrupted as Lu Juan grabbed her arm and gave her a pitiful look, saying, "Baby, listen, other than the fixed monthly design drafts, you don’t bother with the company’s affairs. But this time, you can’t refuse. Think of it as contributing to ’Xin’ Clothing Company’s success abroad. Plus, Baby, I’ve already promised these people. If you don’t agree, I’ll have offended them, and then, well... then."

Looking at the papers in her hand and hearing what her aunt had said, Situ Xin sighed helplessly. She felt bad for refusing, considering her own actions of handing off all duties to her aunt since they had started the company.

Her aunt had hit her soft spot. "Alright, I’ll take them. But I’m telling you in advance, this is it. If you take on any more work without consulting me, you’re on your own. I won’t help," she stated.

Seeing Situ Xin finally relent, Lu Juan heaved a massive sigh of relief in her heart. Having taken on these tasks in a moment of folly, her heart had been in her throat until she could assure herself that Situ Xin would come around.

"Okay. I promise there won’t be a next time," Lu Juan confirmed crisply, aware that this first offense—accepting such a workload without Situ Xin’s consent—was happening under the watchful eyes of both Old Madams. They hadn’t spoken up before because they’d been busy helping with Situ Xin’s affairs. Lu Juan was certain that if there was a second time, the Old Madams wouldn’t wait for Situ Xin to refuse; they would be the ones to kick her out.

After all, Lu Juan truly cared for Situ Xin, feeling for her having to complete such a massive workload in so little time.

No sooner had Lu Juan agreed than Old Madam Loo smiled and said, "Baby, don’t worry. If your aunt gets you involved in such work again, you won’t even have to say anything—I definitely won’t let her go through with it."

As soon as Old Madam Loo finished speaking, Lu Juan winked furiously at Situ Xin, her expression saying: See, I told you this would happen.

Situ Xin, covering her mouth to hide her laughter, smiled at Lu Juan’s reaction. After her giggle, Situ Xin looked at her aunt and said, "Aunt, measurements alone are of no use to me. You need to give me photos of the people with their corresponding sizes, or how am I supposed to know what styles suit them and where to begin designing?"

"Look at me. How could I have forgotten? Just wait, I’ll go ask for their photos right away." Reminded by Situ Xin, Lu Juan hurried out of the Situ residence as swiftly as she had arrived.

The two Old Madams, Loo Yaxin, and Situ Xin, who were left sitting in the room, watched Lu Juan rush in and out. They exchanged glances and then burst into laughter. Old Madam Loo chuckled, "This Ah Juan, despite being so grown-up and even a mom, still has the same temperament."

"Hey, temperament has nothing to do with age. If you ask me, Ah Juan’s temperament is not bad at all—straightforward and easy to get along with," Old Madam Situ clearly liked Lu Juan, who shared a similar disposition.

"I didn’t say Ah Juan’s temperament was bad," Old Madam Loo countered, but then turned to Situ Xin and continued, "Baby, your grandma and I didn’t stop you from taking on this job. Just remember, don’t sacrifice your health in a rush to get it done."

"Exactly, do what you can while ensuring your own health. If you can’t finish in time, it’s no big deal; your aunt, I, and your grandma will handle it," Old Madam Situ said.

Situ Xin felt as if there were literally black lines forming on her forehead listening to the Old Madams. It sounded as if her health were in a precarious state.

Still, Situ Xin nodded obediently and replied, "Grandma, Granny, I understand. I will be careful." In reality, for Situ Xin, designing the custom outfits wasn’t the hard part. Her mind was brimming with design ideas; she could easily pull out designs and make minor tweaks to them. It was the embroidery on the garments that was time-consuming.
