Chapter 564: Chapter 564 Good News (1)_1

Xiang Yang took the materials passed over by Situ Xin. Looking at those materials, an idea suddenly flashed through Xiang Yang’s mind, and he seized upon it. "Leader, something just occurred to me. These discs were from one of the individuals you had specifically told us to pay attention to when we received this mission. I’m wondering if this incident could be related to our current assignment?"

When Situ Xin heard Xiang Yang say this, her brows furrowed, and she began to ponder deeply. Knowing that this gesture meant Situ Xin was deep in thought, Xiang Yang and Mei did not disturb her. They went about their own business instead.

Situ Xin, prompted by Xiang Yang’s reminder and linking it to previous events, indeed felt that Xiang Yang’s conjecture was very accurate. However, what Situ Xin could not understand was how that person knew about her identity as the Dark Division Leader. Logically speaking, none of those few individuals had the status to know that she, Situ Xin, was the leader of The Dark Division.

Furthermore, how could those people know about the list that was supposedly on her person? With this thought, a lightbulb went off in Situ Xin’s mind. Her train of thought became clear. "So that’s what it is. The person isn’t targeting me but the entire Situ Family. He thinks the list is with the Situ Family. No wonder."

After clarifying, Situ Xin guessed that if the discs in her possession were indeed the ones she and her family were looking for, then that person would likely use these discs to negotiate with the Situ Family for the exchange of the list.

With that, Situ Xin couldn’t wait to return and check whether those discs were indeed what she was looking for, so she could more accurately infer what those people were after. "Xiang Yang, Mei, I’m heading back first."

"Leader, you’ve just arrived; why are you leaving so soon? We haven’t even had a chance to spend time together." The mood swing of this pregnant woman was instantaneous. Mei, who had been in a fairly good mood just before, now adopted a pitiable expression as soon as she heard Situ Xin was leaving, looking as though Situ Xin had callously abandoned her.

This made Situ Xin’s eyes twitch involuntarily. As for Xiang Yang, he seemed quite used to it, indicative of his frequent experiences of the same in the past.

"Oh, Mei. I have an urgent matter today. How about this: once I’m done with it, I will come visit you," Situ Xin said, knowing all too well that all she could do was to coax the pregnant woman.

Talking, Situ Xin saw that Mei’s pitiable expression hadn’t changed, so she hastily shot Xiang Yang a look for help. Seeing the look from his leader, Xiang Yang couldn’t stand idly by any longer. He coaxed Mei: "Mei, the Leader really does have urgent matters to attend to. Look, if she doesn’t come to see you in a few days, I will take you to find her."

On hearing Xiang Yang’s words, not only did Situ Xin’s eyes start twitching, but the corners of her mouth twitched too. You see, the tone of Xiang Yang’s speech didn’t sound like he was talking to an adult pregnant woman. It was more like he was appeasing a child.

However, Mei was genuinely persuaded by Xiang Yang’s approach. Only after Yiang Yang had spoken did she drop her previous pitiable look and, smiling, said to Situ Xin, "Leader, if you have urgent matters to attend to, please go ahead. I will come find you in a few days."

Done with the conversation, Situ Xin observed the stark change in Mei’s temperament since becoming pregnant.

Nevertheless, at that moment, Situ Xin had no time to dwell on Mei’s pregnancy-induced changes. She needed to go back and examine the contents of the discs and then deal with Situ Che’s situation promptly.

Having returned from BL, she noticed that those left at home, young and old, were significantly more downcast than before. If it hadn’t been for Situ Xin’s earlier care, Old Master Situ would have fallen ill long ago. And if Old Master Situ collapsed, many in Capital City would rejoice.

Situ Xin was also aware that the sudden decline in her family members’ spirits was inextricably linked to Situ Che being framed. It was natural; everyone was consumed with thoughts about Situ Che’s plight and how to procure evidence to prove his innocence.

Therefore, Situ Xin realized that it was a case of worry—hearts burdened with heavy thoughts. Spirit Pills alone would not cure such ailments; as the saying goes, matters of the heart require the right medicine. So no matter the perspective, Situ Xin needed to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.

After Situ Xin returned to The Dark Division with Baibai, she went straight to her room, locked the door, took Baibai, and flashed into her private space.

"Baibai, you play by yourself for a while, I’ll go through these discs," Situ Xin said and, in a flash, moved to the villa bedroom.

Following Situ Xin closely was Baibai. "Baibai, you?" Situ Xin’s words were cut off by Baibai. "I’ve been in this space for such a long time that there is nothing left that entertains me. I’d rather watch with you. I’m quite curious about what’s inside."

Seeing Baibai already positioned in front of the LCD TV, ready and waiting, Situ Xin smiled and shook her head. Yet, she didn’t send Baibai away but went to insert the disc into the DVD player.

Once the first disc started playing, a private booth at Broadway appeared on the television. In the scene within the Broadway booth, Liu Chengtian and his siblings were seen sitting with the three siblings from the Shan Family, but Situ Che was not present. Situ Xin surmised this was before Situ Che arrived in the Broadway booth.

The surveillance footage only existed to prevent unforeseeable events beyond Dragon Society’s control within the booth. Therefore, there was no sound, only the image, forcing Situ Xin to guess what the group of people was talking about as their mouths moved silently.

However, when Situ Xin saw Liu Chengtian’s subsequent action of kneeling on the floor from his previous sitting position, it caught her full attention.

In the camera’s view, Liu Chengtian, in front of the others in the booth, skillfully pulled out a sachet of white powder from his bag and poured it into an already opened beer bottle.
