Chapter 553: Chapter 553: Plans Can Never Keep Up with Changes (1)_1

He couldn’t let the members of The Dark Division go to certain death. But they couldn’t possibly retreat now either, because they had already blown their cover. If they failed to complete their mission this time, it would become even more difficult the next time.

All the members of The Dark Division shared the same thought as Situ Muli. After exchanging glances with each other, they once again threw themselves into the gunfight.

The combat skills of each member of The Dark Division were almost peerless outside, and their marksmanship could certainly hold up against mercenaries. Because of the mercenaries’ reinforcements, the members of The Dark Division were forced to hide in the shadows.

Hiding in the dark, they aimed at the mercenaries and fired. Each shot was accurate. However, the mercenaries weren’t lacking in strength. After suffering heavy casualties, they almost found the hiding spots of The Dark Division’s members.

They began to fight back.

Just as the firefight intensified, the target person, who had been overlooked by The Dark Division’s members while hiding behind a vehicle, suddenly made a move. He drew his pistol and fired a shot towards his left front.

Nobody on the scene noticed the target person’s action. It was Situ Xin, who was watching the situation with great interest from above, that discovered it. She saw the bullet flying straight towards Xing’s hiding spot, and with a stern look, she casually threw the half-eaten apple in her hand.

The apple, flying out, collided with the bullet about a meter away from Xing. Then, the bullet went straight into the wall next to Xing.

Everyone who saw this scene was stunned. Especially Xing and the target person, one shocked and the other dumbfounded.

The first to react was Situ Muli. Regaining his senses, he aimed at the target person and fired. Before the man could figure out what had happened, he fell to the ground dead. Seeing that the person they were supposed to protect was dead, the mercenaries decisively picked up the case the target person had been carrying and prepared to leave.

How could Situ Xin let this easy prey slip away?

The mercenary holding the case and preparing to make a tactical retreat suddenly shuddered, and then collapsed. Then everyone saw a white figure flash by, and the case disappeared from the fallen mercenary’s side.

The scene left the present mercenaries in shock. They had no idea what had just happened. However, the members of The Dark Division all knew very well whose feat this was.

Seeing that the case had reached their Leader’s hands, the members of The Dark Division knew their mission was complete. Before their opponents could react, they withdrew from the scene. Then, that very night, Situ Muli and his group boarded a private plane and left BL.

Originally, Situ Xin had planned to enjoy BL and its neighboring cities after her fashion show with her grandmother, maternal grandmother, and mother, but plans can never keep up with changes.

Early in the morning, before Situ Xin had gotten up, the doorbell to her room rang incessantly. "Who is it? It’s so early in the morning, can’t you let people sleep?" Situ Xin complained while she stretched a hand to rub her hair and walked toward the door. Situ Xin had gone to observe The Dark Division’s mission yesterday and hadn’t returned until nearly dawn.

"Baby, quickly get dressed and washed, I’m going to pack your luggage now, we need to catch this afternoon’s flight home," said Loo Yaxin as soon as Situ Xin’s door opened, and she walked directly in, talking to Situ Xin as she did so.

"What?" Situ Xin thought she had misheard, because they had agreed on the day’s itinerary before going to bed last night.

Loo Yaxin knew her daughter well. Seeing Situ Xin’s expression, she knew what her daughter was thinking, so she repeated herself, "We are catching the afternoon flight home today. Your grandmother received a call from your eldest aunt this morning; it seems Ah Che got himself into some trouble."

"Huh? Brother Che got into trouble?" Situ Xin was now fully awake. With a frown, she said, "What trouble has Brother Che caused? Aren’t grandpa, dad, and my eldest uncle all at home? Why would my aunt call grandmother and ask her to go back then?" Situ Xin didn’t understand.

"I’m not sure either. I just know that after your grandmother took the call, she rushed to have your younger aunt book today’s afternoon flight. Originally, your grandmother intended to go back alone and told us to continue enjoying ourselves here. But I worried about your grandmother traveling alone, and besides, with something happening at home, it didn’t feel right to stay and have fun. So, I had your younger aunt book our tickets as well," Loo Yaxin said while she moved to help Situ Xin pack.

After hearing her mother’s words, Situ Xin’s mind quickly assessed the situation, pondering what could have happened to Situ Che to cause such urgent concern from her grandmother. If Xia Yujie and Liu Yuxiang were in the country, Situ Xin would definitely call them to inquire or ask them to investigate, but now they were also in BL, helping her with matters, and she couldn’t reach out to them.

Since Situ Xin couldn’t figure out what had happened to Situ Che, she didn’t dwell on it any longer and went to get dressed and freshened up.

When Situ Xin, dressed and groomed, went downstairs to the dining room for breakfast with her mother Loo Yaxin, they found Old Madam Situ sitting there, deep in thought and without her usual smile.

Seeing her grandmother like this, Situ Xin worried. She approached Old Madam Situ and took her grandmother’s hand, looking into her eyes, "Grandma, don’t worry. Brother Che will definitely be fine, I won’t let anything happen to him."

"Our Baby is truly sweet. Grandma’s fine, I’m just thinking about some things. But Baby, I am sorry to end our trip on such a disappointing note," Old Madam Situ said as her mood lightened considerably and she tenderly stroked Situ Xin’s hair.

"It’s okay, we can come out to play together and make up for it next time everyone’s free," Situ Xin said to Old Madam Situ with a bright smile.
