"Alright, alright, no more joking around, let’s get down to business. What brings you and Xiang to BL this time? I heard from my guys that your Dragon Society is investigating the Brown Family. What’s going on, how did they manage to tick off the Dragon Society?" Austin dropped the casual demeanor he had been displaying.

"We came to BL this time for no other reason than to deal with the Brown Family affair," Xia Yujie revealed candidly to Austin, as they had come to understand each other through lengthy phone conversations over time.

"Hey, the Brown Family really got under your skin? How could they be so blind as to provoke the Dragon Society?" Austin, who had been joking earlier, threw out this question, not expecting that he’d actually hit the nail on the head.

"It’s more than just being blind. I’d say they’re just asking for a beating." While speaking with Austin, Liu Yuxiang showed Xia Yujie what Brown Kress and Brown Lya had done to Situ Xin at the PRATY. On seeing this, Xia Yujie became utterly incensed by the Brown Family’s conduct.

"What exactly did they do to you? Tell your brother here, so I can help you let off some steam." The angrier Xia Yujie got, the more curious Austin became. Since meeting Xia Yujie up to now, he couldn’t recall a time when Xia had been angry. Usually, Xia appeared as unshakeable as Mount Tai, as though nothing could bother him.

"I have nothing to say about that, only that there is someone in the Brown Family who has crossed the line with those they shouldn’t have." When Xia Yujie talked about the Brown Family, he might not have been grinding his teeth with rage, but he was close to it.

"Looks like you’re pretty fired up," observed Austin. Seeing that Xia Yujie wouldn’t divulge more, he didn’t press further. Austin understood that even between the closest of friends, some secrets had to be kept. However, this didn’t stop him from considering both Xia Yujie and Liu Yuxiang as friends. "I won’t ask about the specifics, but if there’s anything you need me for, just let me know."

"Thank you," said Xia Yujie, his gratitude genuine.

"No need to be so formal. If you really want to thank me, hit me up for a meal sometime, so we can bond a bit. It’ll also let our Mafia brothers and your Dragon Society guys know our families are on good terms. So they wouldn’t always be at each other’s throats. You and Xiang won’t be in the loop if I’m on it, and trust me, that has been driving me crazy," Austin complained.

"The minor skirmishes can be overlooked, but we should indeed go out for a meal together. That ought to sober up those scheming behind our backs," Xia Yujie recalled the recent updates from Tiger about BL’s situation. Some were trying to drive a wedge between the Dragon Society and the Mafia for their own gains, looking to profit from the discord between the two sides.

Xia Yujie and Liu Yuxiang were certainly not ones to be manipulated like pawns. Had their visit to BL not been to settle the Brown Family matter, they would not have been content to let off those audacious enough to plot against them so easily.

"Sure, you set the time, and I’ll pick the place," Austin agreed readily.

"Alright, I’ll call you once I’ve settled on a time. Better hang up now, or Xiang might just come looking for you," Xia Yujie joked with Oster over the phone, a rarity for him. His playful tone showed that he truly considered Oster a friend.

"I can just picture Xiang’s face right now. I know you’re busy, so I won’t keep you. Just tell Xiang for me not to be jealous, and that big bro here is going to work on bonding with him when we have our meal. Haha." With that, Oster hung up the call, fearing that if he was slow to do so, Liu Yuxiang, hearing what he had said, might come charging out of the phone to fight him.

Liu Yuxiang, thanks to his keen hearing, actually caught Oster’s words on the call and, infuriated, he threw the documents in his hand and tried to snatch the phone from Xia Yujie to have a serious talk with Oster. However, Oster had hung up before Xiang could get his chance.

Xiang glared at the phone, now beeping steadily with the tone of a disconnected call, and bitterly muttered, "Oster, you better hope I don’t see you. If I do, I’ll give you the beating of a lifetime."

Seeing Liu Yuxiang glaring at the phone as if he intended to devour the receiver, Xia Yujie fought back laughter and after clearing his throat, said, "Alright, Ah Xiang, you know how Oster is, always messing around when he talks to us. Don’t take it to heart. Though, I have no objections if you beat him up the next time you see him."

Meanwhile, the Brown Family was blissfully unaware of the looming danger creeping toward them, continuing their extravagant lifestyle just the same.

However, things hadn’t been going so smoothly for Brown Kress. Despite being the CEO of the Brown Group, his position was threatened due to the loss of a major client, Xiao’s, after they offended Xiao Muli, resulting in substantial losses. Ordinarily, due to such heavy losses caused by Brown Kress’ actions and those of his daughter Brown Lya, Kress would have been ousted from his CEO position by now.

Yet Brown Kress’s mother, unwilling to see the CEO role fall into the hands of her stepson, managed to hold Kress’s position in place despite her dissatisfaction with her son, leveraging her shareholding power to keep him as the CEO of the Brown Group.

Still, even with his mother’s support, the board issued a final demand to Brown Kress. If he failed to recover the losses incurred from Xiao’s terminated contract within a specified timeframe, his mother’s backing wouldn’t be enough to save him from stepping down as CEO.

After giving his daughter Brown Lya a fierce scolding and confining her to the house for reflection, Kress was busily picking up the pieces. He sought out Xiao Muli multiple times, hoping to apologize and mollify him to resume their cooperation. But despite his attempts, he never saw Xiao Muli, as Muli’s assistant blocked him each time.

With the Xiao Muli avenue a dead end, Brown Kress resorted to exploring other connections. He reached out to a few of his acquaintances with whom he had good relations, inquiring if they knew any big clients they could introduce to him.
