The elders did not clear up the confusion for Situ Che and Loo Jie. But just then, Situ Haoran, who was at home, spoke, "Dad, are you asking because that new team leader of Ah Che and Ah Jie’s has been dismissed?"

"Yes, we just received the news today. It’s strange because, normally, since Ah Jie and Ah Che completed their mission successfully, the team leader would certainly be commended. However, to our surprise, he was dismissed. And the higher-ups haven’t explained why. So I thought I’d ask Ah Che and Ah Jie," Old Master Situ said as he thought about the situation while responding to Situ Haoran.

Upon hearing Old Master Situ’s words, Situ Che and Loo Jie showed surprised expressions. "Grandpa Situ, Grandpa Loo, Grandpa Deng, is this information reliable?" Loo Jie and Situ Che, who had been resting at home for a few days, knew nothing about this.

However, I think there must be some truth to the rumors circulating outside, at least mostly true."

"Jianguo mentioned this, and I’ve heard some of it as well. Moreover, I have noticed that none of the individuals taken away by the discipline committee are from our side, but several seemed to be from the other side," Situ Haoran reflected on what he knew.

"From what you’re saying, there seems to be someone plotting behind the scenes," said Old Master Loo, tapping his fingers rhythmically on himself—a habitual gesture when he was deep in thought.

Situ Xin could see in Old Deng’s eyes a look that clearly said he knew she was somehow involved in the matter.

Baby, don’t mind your grandpa, just lean back and rest," Old Master Situ chimed in before Situ Xin could respond. Clearly, the first part of his statement was addressed to Old Master Loo, and the last part to Situ Xin.

At Old Master Situ’s words, Situ Xin didn’t know if she should speak. She glanced at her grandpa and Old Deng and then at Old Master Situ, who was still struggling to identify the mastermind behind all this.

Old Master Loo, upon hearing Old Master Situ’s words, gave him an annoyed glance. However, Old Deng smiled and coughed before saying, "Situ, don’t you want to know who planned this whole thing?"

"Yes, I do want to know. Old Deng, do you have an idea?" Old Master Situ asked Old Deng eagerly.

"Old Deng, if you know, please tell us quickly. We really can’t figure out who has been secretly helping us," Loo Jianguo added to Old Master Situ’s question, his own curiosity piqued.
