Situ Xin offered Yu Shiyin a chance to join ’Xin’ Clothing Company. Aside from feeling a bit sorry for Yu Shiyin, Situ Xin genuinely valued her as a person. Situ Xin trusted her own judgment and believed that after systematic training, Yu Shiyin would certainly make a name for herself.

After saying this, Situ Xin waited for Yu Shiyin to respond, whether she was willing or not. However, after waiting for quite a while, she did not get an answer. The two parents pushed open the door and saw Situ Xin and Yu Shiyin sitting calmly on the bed, both looking at Yu Hongbo and Shi Ping with puzzled expressions.

"Dad, Mom, what’s all the rush about?" Yu Shiyin asked.

"Ah, it’s nothing. Your dad and I heard some noise coming from your room, so we came to check. You two continue chatting, just carry on," Shi Ping said, aware that they had made a huge blunder, and both of them left the room with awkward smiles, closing the door behind them.

"Sorry, Xiao Xin, they were just startled by how I was earlier," Yu Shiyin whispered to Situ Xin as she watched the couple leave. The enthusiasm from earlier, knowing who Situ Xin was, had quickly faded.

"It’s fine, I understand. Now, tell me, do you want to join ’Xin’ Clothing Company as a designer?" Situ Xin checked her wristwatch, noting it was getting late, and wanted to reach a quick decision with Yu Shiyin.

"Of course, I do," Yu Shiyin suddenly remembered that Situ Xin was indeed the chief designer at ’Xin’ Clothing Company. "Xiao Xin, you’re the chief designer at ’Xin’, and you have no idea how much I adore your designs. Hey, speaking of which, I’ve bought every piece you designed." While saying this, Yu Shiyin was about to stand up and show Situ Xin the clothes.

But Situ Xin stopped her. "That won’t be necessary. By the way, ’Xin’ Clothing Company is based in the Capital City, and if you join the company, you’ll have to move there. Can you manage that?"

"Absolutely no problem. I’ve been wanting to leave this place full of painful memories. It’s perfect timing. But, I might need some time before I can come to Capital City. I have to handle my divorce with Liu Yubin first before I can move there." As Yu Shiyin mentioned her marriage to Liu Yubin, which was nearing its end, her emotions dipped.

"You’ve decided to divorce Liu Yubin?" Although Situ Xin felt that a jerk like Liu Yubin really wasn’t someone you could count on for life, that was just her own opinion. Up until now, neither family had spoken about divorce, and Situ Xin had thought they weren’t planning on going through with it.

It’s true, divorce nowadays wasn’t like how it would be ten to twenty years later, when getting divorced would be commonplace, with a myriad of whirlwind marriages and separations. Today, while it wasn’t unheard of, it was still relatively rare.

"Yes, I’ve decided. I’ve discussed it with my parents, and they agree. I’ll file for divorce once my health is a bit better. The marriage to Liu Yubin is definitely not sustainable. Now, every time I see Liu Yubin, I’m reminded of the child in my womb that never came to be and all the wrong he has done to me," Yu Shiyin said nonchalantly, looking out the window.

Situ Xin could see that although Yu Shiyin had seemingly come to terms with it, the wound Liu Yubin had left in her heart wasn’t going to heal anytime soon.

"Well, once you’ve sorted everything out here, come find me in the Capital City," Situ Xin said, handing over her mobile number to Yu Shiyin. Thanks to Situ Xin’s foot soak and other treatments, Yu Shiyin had shown significant improvement in her health by her latest check-up.

This left the doctor who had been treating Yu Shiyin astonished; he incessantly asked who had been treating her. However, Yu Shiyin didn’t reveal anything to the doctor, adhering to Situ Xin’s previous request, claiming it was an old Chinese medicine practitioner’s prescription.

After administering the last acupuncture treatment to Liu Yuxiang’s mother, Zong Liqing, Situ Xin was ready to return to the Capital City with Xia Yujie. Liu Yuxiang, concerned about his mother’s health, decided to stay behind in SH for a while, rather than return with Situ Xin and Xia Yujie.

Early one morning, when Situ Xin and Xia Yujie were set to leave SH for the Capital City, the Yu family of three arrived at the Liu family’s doorstep.

"Xiao Ping, Shiyin. Did you also come because you heard that Xiao Xin and Ah Jie are heading back to the Capital City?" Zong Liqing greeted the Yu family as they arrived. "Shiyin, how is your health? I couldn’t come visit you myself because I’ve been unwell," Zong Liqing said while holding Yu Shiyin’s hand concernedly. "Mom, I’ve recovered a lot, please don’t worry about me," Yu Shiyin knew her mother-in-law truly cared for her.

"Oh? Xiao Xin is returning to the Capital City? Well, we really had no clue," Yu Hongbo said, maintaining a friendly attitude towards the other members of the Liu family but visibly showing disdain for Liu Yubin. "I’m not going to beat around the bush. We came here today mostly to discuss the matter of Shiyin’s marriage to Liu Yubin."

"Given everything that has happened, I think the marriage between Shiyin and Liu Yubin definitely cannot continue. So, we’ve come today to talk about this matter," Shi Ping said openly. Despite her sisterly bond with Zong Liqing, her daughter’s happiness was paramount.
