Chapter 348: Chapter 348 Pretentious (2)_1

"I’ll be fine, just need to rest for a bit," Situ Xin said through gritted teeth.

"Then Ah Xiang, you take your master back to her room," Liu Guobiao looked at Situ Xin with concern and said to Liu Yuxiang.

"Ah, oh, right," Liu Yuxiang didn’t finish speaking before being interrupted by Situ Xin. "No need. I can manage on my own." With that, Situ Xin quickly left the room, followed closely behind by Baibai rushing out.

Once Situ Xin reached her own room and had locked the door, she couldn’t wait to flash into her space.

After arriving in space, Situ Xin finally let the spiritual energy within her body circulate rapidly. As the spiritual energy inside her circulated, the energy around seemed to hurry over like playful sprites, eagerly rushing in her direction. Eventually, Situ Xin was enveloped in a white, fog-like cocoon, just like the last time she was injured.

Baibai, having followed Situ Xin into the space, also started to cultivate because Baibai knew that when its master was making a breakthrough, the effects of its training would be far better than at any usual time.

After what seemed like an age, the human and the tiger slowly opened their tightly shut eyes. Situ Xin, her eyes full of confusion, looked at Baibai and asked, "Baibai, what happened? Why didn’t I make the breakthrough?"

"I don’t know what happened either. The way master looked before, it seemed like you were about to make a breakthrough. It has always been like this whenever you advanced," Baibai said, extending a tiger paw and scratching its head in confusion.

The human and the tiger were both utterly puzzled by the earlier phenomenon.

After quite a while, Baibai timidly said, "Master, although Baibai hasn’t advanced, I feel stronger than before."

"Ah, now that you mention it, I’ve also noticed that there seems to be more spiritual energy inside me than before, and my mental strength is much more powerful than it used to be," Situ Xin noted after a moment of reflection and nodded in agreement. "Let’s not dwell on it. Whatever happened might have been beneficial for both of us, with no downsides."

Situ Xin didn’t take the matter of advancing too seriously, as with her current abilities, protecting her family was well within her means. Therefore, she wasn’t disappointed about the incident, especially since there had been no signs of a breakthrough beforehand.

"Let’s go back out; we’ve been in here for quite some time. They must be worrying," Situ Xin thought of Liu Yuxiang and the others and left the space with Baibai.

As soon as Situ Xin and Baibai opened the door, they saw Xia Yujie and Liu Yuxiang standing at the doorway looking anxious. The sight of Situ Xin’s door opening brought relieved smiles to their faces.

"Phew, it’s good that you are alright, Master. You don’t know how worried we were. If you had come out any later, Ah Jie and I were just about to use the spare key to barge in," Liu Yuxiang said with an exaggerated sigh of relief, smiling as he spoke.

Situ Xin and Baibai listened to Liu Yuxiang’s words and both felt relieved in their hearts, grateful that they had come out from the space in time. Otherwise, they dared not imagine how they would tidy up the situation if Xia Yujie and Liu Yuxiang had burst into the room only to find it empty.

"Miss, are you feeling alright?" Xia Yujie asked with a face full of concern.

"I’m fine, I was just a bit tired earlier, and I feel better after resting a bit," Situ Xin said to Xia Yujie with a smile that conveyed she was alright and he should not worry.

As Situ Xin followed Xia Yujie and Liu Yuxiang downstairs, she inevitably faced further inquiries about her wellbeing from Liu Guobiao. It wasn’t until Situ Xin reassured him once more that she was alright that Liu Guobiao changed the subject.

Liu Guobiao looked at his eldest son, sitting there in silence with a stern face, and said, "Liu Yubin, your mother just mentioned that after dinner, you will accompany me to your in-laws’ house to apologize to your father-in-law, mother-in-law, and Shiyin."

"Dad," Liu Yubin started, his face showing obvious reluctance at the mention of going to his in-laws’ to make an apology. At that moment, he knew he was at fault towards his wife. But even so, the thought of bowing his head to apologize to his wife still discomforted him, let alone the thought of facing his father-in-law’s fiery temper which made his heart recoil even more.

"Hmph, don’t call me dad. I’m telling you, even if you refuse to go today, I will tie you up and take you there myself. Your mother was seriously ill these past few days, so I wasn’t in the right state to go to your in-laws to apologize, but now that your mother’s health is improving, we must go," Liu Guobiao said forcefully. The thought of his daughter-in-law’s miscarriage, that barely-formed child that was lost, brought a pained expression to his face. "I’m telling you, for doing such a despicable thing, if your father-in-law beats you to death, it would be deserved."

Remembering the child his daughter-in-law had lost, Liu Guobiao looked up at Situ Xin, hesitated, then said, "Xiao Xin, may I ask a favor of you?"

Situ Xin had saved his wife, and for that, the Liu Family already owed her a great debt of gratitude. Nevertheless, thinking of his daughter-in-law’s condition, he still had the audacity to make a request.

"Uncle Liu, what is it? Just tell me," Situ Xin was not one to abandon things halfway. Since she had already gotten involved with the Liu Family’s affairs, she was ready to see it through. Besides, given the current circumstances, one more matter for her to handle was neither here nor there. After all, it amounted to the same responsibility.

"Could you accompany me later to my daughter-in-law’s house? She had a miscarriage not long ago. The situation was quite dangerous back then, and I am not sure how she is doing now. Would you be able to come with me and check on her? Of course, if you’re not comfortable, that’s fine too," Liu Guobiao said, somewhat sheepishly.

"It’s not a problem, I’ll go with you in a bit," Situ Xin responded indifferently. She hadn’t expected Liu Guobiao to make this request. She didn’t mind; after all, there was nothing for her to do at the Liu Family home at the moment, and given the situation, Situ Xin also wasn’t in a position to bring Baibai out for fun.

"Xiao Xin, I can’t thank you enough," Liu Guobiao said, his gratitude towards Situ Xin was genuinely beyond words. After Situ Xin had brought his wife back to consciousness, he had solemnly vowed to himself that he would go to any lengths to assist Situ Xin whenever she might need his help. What Situ Xin didn’t know was that her unintended intervention had helped to secure a steady supply of goods for the future "Xin" fashion company. This stable supply chain was crucial in enabling the "Xin" fashion company to rapidly grow into a top global apparel brand—but that, of course, is a story for another time.
