Chapter 277: Chapter 277: Murong Big Brother (2)_1

Nevertheless, Situ Xin stayed and fiercely played several rounds of chess with her grandfather. If we’re talking about Situ Xin’s current chess skills, after learning from the knowledge on the Jade Token in her mind, there are few opponents in the whole world who can match her. However, when facing her grandfather, her maternal grandfather, and Old Deng, she never showed her full strength, always holding back.

She did this to avoid hitting the old men too hard, so every time Situ Xin would win by a little bit or lose by a little bit. Moreover, Situ Xin was so discreet in her moves that only someone with chess skills similar to hers would be able to notice. And those old men hadn’t realized what Situ Xin was doing up to this point.

Only after playing three rounds of chess with Old Master Situ was Situ Xin allowed to return to her room. Old Master Situ let Situ Xin go so easily because he was fond of her and didn’t want to tire her out.

What she didn’t know was that Situ Xin’s real tasks were just beginning.

After returning to her room, Situ Xin locked the door from the inside. She took out her mobile phone and called Xia Yujie.

"Hello, how’s it going? Did you get anything out of them?" Situ Xin cut straight to the chase as soon as she spoke.

"Bringing those kids back, they spilled everything under questioning. It was Murong Mengyao, the eldest daughter of the Murong Family’s big son, who had them do it. She paid them to wait at the alleyway to deal with Murong Wanyu. And you, Miss, just happened to be with Murong Wanyu today and got caught up in it." Xia Yujie’s eyes gleamed dangerously as he spoke to Situ Xin, thinking, "The Murong Family sure has the nerve. Even though it isn’t directed at the young miss, she was implicated. The Murong Family deserves death."

"Her?" Situ Xin didn’t expect it to be that haughty Miss Murong. She had always thought Murong Mengyao was just a little overbearing and dismissive of others. But she didn’t expect her to have such a malicious heart, even hiring people to strike at her own blood-related sister. "How did she instruct those thugs?"

"According to what those thugs confessed, Murong Mengyao ordered them to take care of Murong Wanyu," Xia Yujie knew Situ Xin understood what ’take care of’ implied.

Hearing what Xia Yujie had said, it took a long time for Situ Xin to respond. Finally, she said to Xia Yujie, "Keep a close watch on those people." She had thought Murong Mengyao would at most have the thugs teach Murong Wanyu a lesson, but she hadn’t expected Murong Mengyao’s heart to be so venomous.

"Yes, Miss. There’s another thing," Xia Yujie paused before continuing, "I’ve just received the latest information. Murong Tao, the eldest son of Old Master Murong, has started making preparations, apparently after hearing something, to take out Murong Chen and his family." Xia Yujie was able to receive this information promptly because, incredibly, Murong Tao had approached the Dragon Society for this matter.

"Oh? Is that so? Murong Tao and Murong Mengyao really are like father and daughter," Situ Xin said sarcastically. "Oh, by the way, do you have any evidence of Murong Tao’s preparations to take out Murong Chen and his family?" Situ Xin was ready to help Murong Wanyu’s family. She didn’t want to see such a happy family suffer misfortune, especially since Murong Wanyu was her friend.

Upon hearing Situ Xin’s words, Xia Yujie understood that Situ Xin was preparing to intervene on behalf of Murong Chen’s family. "Not yet, should I instruct our guy to leave evidence when he meets with Murong Tao?"

"Good," Situ Xin thought for a moment before adding, "Send a few more men to keep a subtle eye on Murong Chen’s family’s safety." Situ Xin was still concerned, fearing that Murong Tao and Murong Mengyao might do something again.

"Understood. I’ll contact you when there’s news."

Early on Saturday morning, when Situ Xin was planning to sleep in, she was dragged out of bed by Old Madam Situ. "Grandma, what are you doing? I was finally getting to sleep in," Situ Xin complained with her eyes closed while her grandma dressed her.

Old Madam Situ felt sorry for her darling granddaughter but thought of the two anxiously waiting outside for half an hour, so she steeled her heart to get Situ Xin out of bed. "Baby, grandma knows you’re not well-rested. But Mu Li and that Xiang Yang have been waiting for you for a long time outside. They seem to have something urgent. You should get up now. After you deal with it, you can come back and continue sleeping."

Upon being woken up, Situ Xin was a bit groggy and thought bitterly as she walked downstairs, "Hmph. These two better have something important. Otherwise, I’ll see how I deal with them."

As for Situ Mu and Xiang Yang sitting downstairs, they both felt a chill running down their spines.

"Speak, what’s the matter?" Situ Xin didn’t go for breakfast but instead sat across from them with a not-so-pleasant expression and asked.

Xiang Yang gestured for Situ Mu to speak, and as Situ Mu was currently Situ Xin’s personal assistant, he had no choice but to bite the bullet and say, "We’ve just received a mission from above."

Upon hearing it was about The Dark Division, Situ Xin had them follow her to the study. Matters regarding The Dark Division were state secrets. It wasn’t that she distrusted her family but believed that there are times when knowing too much isn’t a good thing; sometimes ignorance is bliss.

Yet Situ Xin hadn’t expected to take on a mission for The Dark Division so soon after taking over. In her plans, she felt The Dark Division wasn’t ready for missions, believing members needed another month or two of training before she could comfortably send them on missions.

Thinking this, Situ Xin laughed at herself. Although The Dark Division was now hers, there were some things that she couldn’t control entirely as she wished. She sighed and said to Situ Mu and Xiang Yang, "What’s the mission? Tell me."

"The Leader wants us to obtain a set of data in Zhou Anbang’s possession. Once obtained, we’re to dispose of him without a trace." This time, it was Xiang Yang who answered Situ Xin.

Upon hearing such a mission, Situ Xin furrowed her brow. In her previous life, The Dark Division had taken on no small number of such assignments, but she was not fond of them. "Did you undertake such missions when Old Deng was Leader?"
