Chapter 191: Chapter 191 The Old Exchange (1)_1
And the news that his grandson Liu Zhengyang brought back had given him a glimmer of hope. Since the previous conflict was caused by a matter between the children, seizing the opportunity now to let his grandson resolve the discord seemed like a good solution.
When he heard his grandson Liu Zhengyang mention that their gathering was at Broadway, he thought of the gold card that had just been sent to him yesterday. He had initially had no intention of accepting this gold card, for he did not wish to be embroiled in controversies before he had even established a firm footing in Capital City.
But he later changed his mind and decided to give this gold card to his grandson, allowing him to wield it to curry favor with Situ Xin and the others. Not only that, elder Liu, having heard from his son that the spending at Broadway was extraordinary, had made a point of giving Liu Zhengyang ten thousand dollars along with the gold card.
As for Liu Qianxue, upon hearing her brother mention going to Broadway, she had heard of Broadway before and knew of many wealthy, powerful children who used their parents’ membership cards to spend lavishly there. Broadway, unlike other pleasure grounds that were mired in sleazy undercurrents, attracted individuals of status, and thus wealthy and influential parents did not restrain their children from going. In their view, frequent visits to Broadway were beneficial rather than detrimental to their offspring.
"Since someone else is paying, let’s go inside," said Situ Xin, who was not opposed to the idea. Although she was quite wealthy now, who wouldn’t want more money?
Having said that, Situ Xin took the lead, pulling her brother Situ Jin by the hand as they walked inside. Yu Qihao and Xiao Muli followed suit, lifting their feet to keep pace.
"Brother Qihao, wait for me." Liu Qianxue, having just gotten the chance to see her Brother Qihao, called out and followed as Yu Qihao walked ahead.
"Hey, wait up, Liang Ruobing and Jiang Chao haven’t arrived yet," the class representative said as the rest of the class prepared to follow.
"Liang Ruobing and Jiang Chao? No need to wait for them; they definitely won’t come today," Situ Xin heard an unimpressed female voice from behind her as she walked ahead.
"How do you know they won’t come?" the class representative asked, puzzled.
"On the day of the middle school exam, Liang Ruobing and Jiang Chao were caught cheating by the proctor. Do you think they would come today?" Situ Xin understood upon hearing this—the girl was from the same examination room as them.
Broadway’s decor was designed by Situ Xin based on her past life’s observations of elite clubs, combined with her own creative input.
The furnishings at Broadway were opulent yet not garish. Everyone visiting for the first time was captivated by the interior, inevitably exclaiming, "Wow, it’s beautiful." This was indeed the case for Situ Xin’s classmates who, aside from the four of them, couldn’t help but marvel upon entering.
And Broadway’s decor was not static; when Situ Xin wasn’t busy, the styling would change monthly, or at most bi-monthly during her busier times.
Situ Xin believed that everyone could suffer from aesthetic fatigue. No matter how beautiful something was, constantly seeing the same thing would eventually wear out its welcome.
"Are you here to dine or for entertainment?" The receptionists were all stunning beauties. Although Broadway did not engage in any indecent transactions, Situ Xin still insisted on employing attractive female staff. Seeing beauty lightens the mood and can even improve appetite.
"Considering the time, I think we should dine first," Xiao Muli suggested, checking the time on his watch, which was about the usual dining time for Situ Xin.
"Then yes, let’s eat first. You need a full stomach to have the energy to play," Liu Zhengyang agreed, remembering his grandfather’s instruction before he left to build a good rapport with Situ Jin, Xiao Muli, and Yu Qihao.
Upon hearing their decision to dine, another server approached, "Hello, please follow me this way."
Broadway offered both dining and entertainment, and the cuisine here was in no way inferior to that of five-star hotels outside. In fact, it was considered superior.
Thus, those who had dined at Broadway often preferred to return here for meals over visiting five-star hotels.
Could the taste be bad when vegetables, fruits, and even poultry and seafood at Broadway were mixed with items secretly taken from Situ Xin’s own space and combined with purchased goods? Even with just a slight addition from Situ Xin’s space, the flavor of the dishes soared to an entirely new level.
And of course, with great taste came high prices.
Leading the group to a private room, Situ Xin and her companions turned a corner only to see a crowd about to enter another room. Upon spotting them, the server hastily greeted, "Young Master Qian, Master Li."
Being called out, Qian Duo and Li Naixin turned their heads reflexively; smiling as they walked over from their group upon recognizing Situ Jin, Xiao Muli, and Yu Qihao. "Jin, Muli, Qihao."
"Qian Yu, Li Naixin," Situ Jin, Xiao Muli, and Yu Qihao greeted Qian Yu and Li Naixin in return. Situ Xin stood to the side watching silently.
"What brings you here?" Qian Yu peered behind Situ Jin and the others, not seeing familiar faces, and asked curiously. In the past, whenever Situ Jin, Yu Qihao, and Xiao Muli appeared at Broadway, Situ Che and Loo Jie would be with them.
It was because Situ Che and Loo Jie felt that it was time for those three to get a glimpse of the world, and so they often included them whenever they went out with their own friends.
Situ Xin was of course aware of this, yet predictably, she had no part in it.
"It’s a class gathering. Are you guys out for a get-together too?" Situ Jin said affectionately to the pair, given their good relations with his elder brothers.
"Yes, we were going to invite your elder brothers out, but they’re busy," Li Naixin said while glancing towards Situ Xin. Upon noticing Situ Xin, he looked surprised, then confidently addressed her, "You must be Che and Jie’s precious sister, the little princess of the Situ and Loo families?" Though Li Naixin posed it as a question, his tone was one of certainty.
