Chapter 162: Chapter 162 Reexamine_1

"Baby, how could you speak like that?" Old Master Situ feigned scolding Situ Xin.

As for Old Master Jia, his eyes lit up upon hearing Situ Xin’s words. He now felt that as long as the Situ Family gave in, things would be easy to manage. "Oh, so kid, tell me, what should we do to get your uncle to go to the military hospital for a paternity test?"

After hearing that, Situ Xin pretended to think for a moment before replying, "Well, how about this, let someone accompany my uncle for the test. As for who that person should be?" Situ Xin stroked his chin, looked at Jia Zhengxin standing behind Old Master Jia, and said, "Let’s have Grandpa Jia’s son do it. If there’s any embarrassment, they can share it together."

"Baby, what nonsense are you talking?" Old Master Situ scolded Situ Xin again, then turned to Old Master Jia and said, "Old Jia, the child doesn’t know any better. Don’t take it seriously, please."

Originally, Old Master Jia had felt rather conflicted, but upon hearing Old Master Situ’s words, he instead agreed with Situ Xin’s suggestion, "Situ, I actually think your granddaughter’s proposal is not bad. I’ll have my second son, Jia Zhengce, accompany Haoran. It’s settled then." When Old Master Jia agreed to Situ Xin’s proposal, he was already considering who to send. After weighing his three sons, he thought of his second son, Jia Zhengce, whose reputation was already not very good, so accompanying Situ Haoran for a paternity test was no big deal.

What Old Master Jia didn’t realize, however, was that his very suggestion had played right into the trap set by Situ Xin and Old Master Situ. As soon as Old Master Jia spoke these words, Old Master Situ and Situ Xin exchanged glances with each other.

Then, with a reluctant expression, Old Master Situ said, "There’s no need for that, is there? The paternity test report is already out. Isn’t doing it again redundant?"

"What’s the matter, Situ? Are you afraid to do it? Could it be that the Situ Family has indeed tampered with the results?" Seeing Old Master Situ’s troubled face, Old Master Jia became even more convinced that Old Master Situ had meddled with the process. "I think we should hurry up and go right away." Turning to Jia Zhengxin, he said, "Give your brother a call and tell him to go to the military hospital. And tell him to hurry."

"Alright, I’ll go right now." Jia Zhengxin ran off in a flurry to make the call to his second brother, Jia Zhengce.

Fearing that Situ Xin’s plan might be spoiled by the appearance of Liang Yuemei, Old Master Jia personally went to find Liang Yuemei and her daughter, Liang Ruobing, as Situ Xin had grown concerned after learning of their grandfather’s plan.

Jia Zhengce knew Liang Yuemei, and if she showed up during the paternity test, there was a chance the test could be botched, as Jia Zhengce was well aware of his past actions.

Therefore, unbeknownst to others, Situ Xin had two Dragon Society elites inject Liang Yuemei with a certain amount of sleep-inducing medication. So, when Old Master Jia went to the hospital room to find Liang Yuemei and Liang Ruobing, Liang Yuemei was still unconscious, and Liang Ruobing was tearfully attending to her mother.

Liang Ruobing had no intention of leaving with Old Master Jia at first, since her mother was still unconscious, but she could not withstand his persistent persuasion. Plus, persuaded by Old Master Jia’s promise to find her mother professional nursing care, Liang Ruobing finally agreed to go with him.

When Situ Xin and their group arrived at the military hospital, Jia Zhengce was already there. He impatiently said to Old Master Jia upon seeing him and the large group, "Dad, what did you bring me here for? Don’t you know I’m very busy?"

"Enough, it will only take a little bit of your time. Just follow me and let’s get going," Old Master Jia said curtly to his second son, Jia Zhengce, urging him to follow.

It wasn’t until after the paternity test was completed that Jia Zhengce realized what his father had brought him there for. Initially, he was angrily questioning his father’s intentions, but when he saw Liang Ruobing, his brow furrowed, and he seemed lost in thought.

When Situ Xin and their group showed up at the military hospital for a paternity test, the eyes of the doctors were filled with gossip. But since Old Master Situ and the others already knew the outcome, they didn’t care.

Since Old Master Situ feared Old Master Jia might tamper with the test, he demanded that the doctors expedite the results following the paternity test.

The doctors knew Old Master Situ well, so they didn’t dare delay and promised to have the results within 24 hours. With his satisfied answer in hand, Old Master Situ asked everyone to stay in the hospital and wait for the results to come out.

Old Master Jia, too, had the same worries as Old Master Situ, and therefore, he agreed with Old Master Situ’s approach.

Thus, a large group of them sat waiting in the hospital.

Old Master Jia and Old Master Situ, in their bid to prevent each other from meddling, both insisted on waiting at the military hospital for the results. Their presence sent the hospital’s director and deputy director rushing over breathlessly. Upon arrival, they gasped, "Sirs, why didn’t you notify us of your visit? We would have made arrangements for you."

"Yeah, yeah," agreed the deputy director in the background.

"No need, we’ve got some private matters to handle. Just go about your business as usual," Old Master Situ said. Though he knew there was no relation between Liang Ruobing and Situ Haoran, he felt it was best not to make too much of a fuss about the paternity test before the results were out.

However, Old Master Situ’s words were taken by Old Master Jia as a sign of his nervousness, fearing that too many people would know if the results were unfavorable once they came out. With this, Old Master Jia felt reassured after hearing what Old Master Situ had said.

"It’s no trouble, we’re not busy; nothing urgent to attend to. By the way, sirs, have you missed out on any checks? Shall we accompany you to get them done?" The director, assuming that Old Master Situ and Old Master Jia were still waiting to undergo checks since they were sitting in the lobby, naturally thought the two had yet to be checked. When his staff had informed him of the arrival of the sirs, they hadn’t specified what the visit was for, only that the sirs had come.
