Chapter 133: Chapter 133: Treating Illness (3)_1
"Mm, go out now. I need to rest some more." Old Deng, already frail, has apparently suffered from great exhaustion after Situ Xin’s series of treatments. He truly is tired now.
"Okay." Situ Xin tiptoed out of the room, gently closing the door behind her as she left.
As soon as the door closed, Old Lady Deng eagerly grabbed Situ Xin’s hand and asked, "Xiao Xin, how is it? How is your Grandpa Deng?" Behind Old Lady Deng, there were several men and women whom Situ Xin had not met before, but she could tell by their faces that they must be Old Deng’s sons and daughters.
"Grandma Deng, rest assured. Grandpa Deng is fine. He’s just too tired and has fallen asleep," said Situ Xin, pausing before adding, "The treatment was very successful, but it will take ten more treatments for Grandpa Deng’s illness to be fully cured." After Situ Xin finished speaking, the middle-aged men and women behind Old Lady Deng all showed skeptical expressions on their faces.
They were not doubtful of Situ Xin’s motives, but rather they found it hard to believe that the disease, deemed incurable by many experts, could be so easily treated by this young girl.
Situ Xin noticed the skepticism on their faces but pretended not to see it, saying, "Oh, by the way, you can have a doctor check up on Grandpa Deng the day after tomorrow to know the specifics." After speaking, she approached Old Master Situ and said, "Grandpa, Old Master, Grandpa Xiao, let’s go. Grandpa Deng needs to rest. We can come to visit him again in a few days."
Having administered treatment to Old Deng, Situ Xin felt there was no need to stay any longer, and besides, she did not like the way Old Deng’s children looked at her.
As soon as Situ Xin and the three elders sat in the car, Old Master Loo spoke up. "Baby, can you really cure Old Deng’s disease?" He had been very anxious.
"Yeah, Xiao Xin, is it really true that only ten more treatments are needed to cure Old Deng’s disease?" asked Old Master Xiao, his face full of concern.
"Oh, Grandpa, Grandpa Xiao, and Old Master, I promise you, I will definitely cure Grandpa Deng’s disease," Situ Xin said somewhat helplessly. Was she not credible? Treating diseases was a matter of life and death, and she would never joke about someone’s life. "There, grandpas, no frowns, okay? If you’re worried, just wait for Old Deng’s medical report tomorrow." Situ Xin knew that Old Deng’s children would surely have him checked the next day, and even if they didn’t say so, Old Deng’s primary doctor would suggest it.
The next morning, just when Situ Xin, who had hoped to sleep in, was excitedly awakened by Old Master Situ. "Baby, Baby, get up quickly, Old Deng just called, the results are out. His condition is improving, even the doctor was amazed by the medical report, calling it a miracle."
As Situ Xin listened to her grandfather by her ear, it took her a moment to finally open her eyes a sliver and say, "Oh, got it, I’ll continue sleeping then." With that, she closed her eyes again, and Baibai, who was sleeping beside Situ Xin, had been automatically filtering out the noise from Old Master Situ since he entered the room.
Old Master Situ looked at the peacefully sleeping girl and tiger, smiling affectionately before tiptoeing out of Situ Xin’s room.
Meanwhile, in a conference room at the Elders’ Recuperation Club, the atmosphere was quite solemn. The room was filled with famous doctors from across the country, all with some recognition in the field of medicine. They had gathered to treat Old Deng’s illness.
But even with so many renowned doctors present for such a long time, they were at a loss for how to treat Old Deng’s illness, and could only watch as his health deteriorated day by day. However, a test report from this morning had left them stunned. Old Deng’s health had significantly improved from the previous results, which were from an examination conducted just yesterday morning.
Since Situ Xin’s visit to treat Old Deng yesterday was under the guise of visiting with the three elders, she had made it clear to Old Lady Deng and Old Deng’s children that they were not to talk about her involvement in his treatment. If the word got out, she warned, she would stop treating him. So, the hospital staff had been unaware of the reason for Old Deng’s sudden improvement.
Now, these famous doctors, unlike Old Deng’s family, who were overjoyed at the medical report, were frowning deeply. After receiving the report, they had hurriedly convened in the conference room to discuss, but after a long exchange, they still couldn’t find a reason for the sudden improvement, and the mood in the room grew increasingly gloomy.
But all of this had nothing to do with Situ Xin, who was at home sleeping ever so soundly, intent on making up for the lost sleep from the previous night.
Situ Xin was destined not to get enough sleep that weekend. Just before noon, while she was sleeping soundly, her mother Loo Yaxin entered her room. "Baby, time to get up, someone is looking for you," Loo Yaxin said softly in Situ Xin’s ear.
"Let them come back tomorrow," Situ Xin mumbled, turning over and falling back asleep. Knowing her daughter’s disposition, Loo Yaxin insisted, "Baby, you can’t keep guests waiting. Moreover, they are here for something very important." With that, Loo Yaxin proceeded to pull Situ Xin out of bed and began dressing her with clothes she had prepared in advance.
Unable to get angry with her family, Situ Xin was eventually pulled out of bed by her mother, washed up, and followed her downstairs, all while half asleep. Baibai, on the other hand, had been completely forgotten upstairs, but fortunately, the smell of Situ Xin in the blankets kept it sleeping sweetly.
"Wow, I’m so sleepy," yawned Situ Xin once downstairs, asking, "Mom, who’s looking for me?" As she spoke, she thought to herself, "Dare to disturb me from my sleep, and see how I’ll deal with you."
"It’s your Uncle Deng," replied Old Master Situ with a smile, "Baby, come here and say hello to your Uncle Deng."
