Chapter 130: Chapter 130 Preparing to Make a Move (3)_1
"So Baibai, does my box of needles have a Needle Spirit inside it?" Situ Xin hesitated for a moment after hearing Baibai’s words before speaking up.
"Of course, Master’s needles were made from the Five-Color Stone that Nvwa used to mend the heavens. How could they possibly lack even a tiny Needle Spirit?" If it wasn’t Situ Xin, Baibai’s master, who was asking the question, Baibai would certainly have given her a cold look. "If it weren’t for the fact that these needles have formed a contract with the Master, who knows how many people would be vying for Master’s set of needles?" Baibai added.
"How can these needles form a contract too?" Situ Xin frowned, saying this because she realized that she knew too little about the Cultivation World. Because of that, she had read over everything about the Cultivation World from the Jade Token in her mind. But she was quite certain that she didn’t remember anything about needles forming contracts.
"Because this is a treasure, ah! Hurry, Master, and form a contract with it," Baibai urged from the side.
Under Bai Bai’s urging, Situ Xin pricked her finger, dropping a few droplets of blood onto the intricately carved box. Then a bright red light emanated from around the box, and Situ Xin’s mind brimmed with information about these needles. They were called the Seven-colored Divine Needle, a name related to the material they were made of. From her own mind, Situ Xin also understood the impressive aspect of the Seven-colored Divine Needle: its ability to store Spiritual Energy. Whenever the user was administering acupuncture and consuming too much Spiritual Energy, the needle would contribute its stored Spiritual Energy, greatly increasing the success rate of the treatment.
"It really is a fine object." After a beam of golden light, the intricately carved wooden box opened on its own, and as it did, a burst of seven-colored light radiated from within the box.
"Of course, there’s nothing inferior about anything associated with Master," Baibai said with pride, as if it were the owner of that fine object.
"Hehe." Situ Xin closed the box and rubbed Baibai’s fur, saying, "Now that we have the right needles, let’s go out. I understand that today I’m due to treat Old Deng, so I must get a good rest no matter what." Saying this, Situ Xin carried Baibai out of the space.
"Really, why didn’t Master sleep in the ’Phoenix Nest’? The air outside is truly unpleasant." Baibai muttered to itself. Speaking of which, Baibai, this little Tiger, really didn’t like the smell outside. If it weren’t for the fact that its master often stayed outside, it surely wouldn’t come out even if it were begged to do so.
"What are you muttering? Hurry up and go to sleep." After covering up with the blanket and lying down, Situ Xin told Baibai, who was still mumbling to itself. Baibai, after Situ Xin lay down, snuggled closer to her, took a deep whiff of Situ Xin’s scent, and then contentedly closed its tiger eyes.
The next day happened to be the weekend, a time when Situ Xin would normally sleep in. However, that morning, she was woken up early by Old Master Situ. When Situ Xin sat at the dining table, she was still a bit groggy, but it was certainly better than eating breakfast with her eyes closed as usual.
"Baby, we’re going to see Old Deng in a little while. Remember, don’t go blurting out anything once we’re there," Old Master Situ said as he ate, concernedly reminding her.
"Grandpa, am I really that unreliable?" Situ Xin replied, unable to hide her irritation, knowing that her grandfather was just worried about her, afraid that her youth and behavior might cause trouble for herself.
"Yes, yes, Grandfather misspoke. Grandfather’s baby is so clever, how could she do something unreliable?" Old Master Situ corrected himself, thinking he was making a mountain out of a molehill. He had forgotten what kind of person his granddaughter was.
Just after Situ Xin finished breakfast, her maternal grandfather, Old Master Loo, and Old Master Xiao arrived. Then, Situ Xin followed the three elders into the car and headed towards Old Deng’s place.
Situ Xin didn’t bring Baibai along this time. When she told Baibai before leaving that it couldn’t come with her, Baibai brought out its trump card, but regretfully, this time Situ Xin remained unmoved, pretending she hadn’t seen it. She had no choice; the place they were visiting today was special, and she was certain that the medical staff wouldn’t agree to let someone bring an animal.
So, in the end, despite Baibai’s sorrowful look, Situ Xin tossed it into the space.
Situ Xin had thought that they would be going to Old Deng’s residence, but after a series of twists and turns, the car surprisingly stopped in front of an Elders’ Recuperation Club, "Baby, we’re here, get out," Old Master Situ reminded.
"Oh." Situ Xin was momentarily stunned, then had an epiphany. It seemed that Old Deng’s condition must be quite serious now. Typically, these old leaders would have their own doctors visit them at home for treatment. After all, leaders visiting hospitals could easily alarm the public, complicating matters.
For someone like Old Deng, his condition couldn’t yet be revealed to outsiders, and yet he required some medical equipment for treatment. He couldn’t go to the hospital, so he had to resort to staying in a place nominally known as the Elders’ Recuperation Club.
Countless thoughts whirled through Situ Xin’s mind, but she didn’t let any show on her face. She obediently followed the trio of elders towards the furthest building.
Once the elevator reached the top floor and the doors opened, Situ Xin saw two people in military uniforms standing at the entrance. When they saw the three elders, they saluted and let them pass without asking a question.
"Good day to the three chiefs." As soon as Situ Xin and the others approached the room’s door, before they could knock, a security officer came out. Clearly, he was familiar with Old Master Situ and the others. "Chiefs, you’ve arrived. Old Deng woke up a while ago and is in good spirits today. He said that if you three were here, he could have a chat," the officer spoke, his gaze inevitably glancing towards Situ Xin standing aside. He wondered why the chiefs had brought a child along, but because of their status, even though he had questions, he didn’t say anything.
"Is that so? It’s good that Old Deng is awake. Then let’s go in," Old Master Situ said with a small smile on his face, indicating his good mood.
