The raise of Maureen Smith and her Good Luck System
Chapter 113: Why can’t she see that I love her?

Chapter 113: Why can’t she see that I love her?

Over at the Smith’s.

Mr. Lorry drove Bianca back home, saying to her, "You should not go to school for now.

First, the paternity test requires a few days, and secondly, the school rumors could harm you." Of course, the main reason is the former.

Right now, the entire Smith family was thrown into chaos.

Not to mention the Smith family, even Mr. Lorry could not imagine if he was in their shoes: raising a daughter for over a decade, giving her the best of everything, only to discover in the end that she is the child of the woman who abandoned their biological daughter.

What would they do? Upon hearing Mr. Lorry’s words, Bianca bit her lower lip hard without saying a word.

She sat in the passenger seat, her vision dark throughout, with her heart pounding wildly and blood rushing to her head. On one hand, she couldn’t believe that Mrs. Daniel was her biological mother.

But on the other hand, recalling how exceptionally good Mrs. Daniel had always been to her, fear rose within her— If she truly was Mrs. Daniel’s child, what would the Smith family do to her? Clearly, she was innocent, her parents and older brother wouldn’t take their anger out on her.

However, Mrs.Daniel had changed babies years ago and came to the Smith’s under a fake identity as a nanny.

That’s definitely a criminal act! Would the Smith’s let Mrs. Daniel get away with it? Regardless of Mrs.Daniel’s fate, Mrs.Daniel deserved it.

But once the DNA test results were out, would Smith’s still treat her as their biological child? Of course not! Bianca envisioned the bleak future.

What she faced was losing everything and starting over.

No more access to good education resources, no more bottomless credit cards, no longer the center of attention among classmates.

She could not accept all these, let alone accept that she was just the child of a nanny.

In this moment, for Bianca, it felt like watching her trajectory of fate plummet straight down, returning to the very lowest, most poverty-stricken point.

Everything was to be lost.

Bianca strived to maintain her composure. At this point, there was only one way out - to ensure that the Smith family could not go through with this paternity test, and that they could not find Mrs. Daniel!

Mr. Lorry parked the car outside the villa of the Smith family, which was eerily silent, signaling a storm brewing.

Throughout the journey in the car, under the watchful eyes of Mr. Lorry, she could not make any moves.

Just as Mr. Lorry was getting out of the car, Bianca swiftly fetched her phone and sent a text message to Mrs. Daniel.

[I’ve been discovered to be your daughter. For my sake, you should leave, the further, the better.

Do not let them find you.] Having sent this message, she was unsure if Mrs. Daniel had received it.

Bianca composed herself, alighted the car, and followed Mr. Lorry into the Smith residence.

The mystery of who made the post was not only being investigated by the Smith family, but also the topic of discussion among everyone in the school.

"Liam, people on the forum suspect that it was you who made the post!"

After finishing his meal, Niel was scrolling on his phone, laughing out loud.

And those watching from the sidelines on the forum dared not mention Liam’s full name, for fear of being blocked, or getting into trouble, replacing it with ’X’ instead.

Niel was about to read a few more humorous comments.

As soon as this was said, Liam’s eyebrow arched up warningly, slamming his spoon down onto his plate with a loud "bang": "So it’s funny, is it?" "No, not at all,"

Niel quickly shut his mouth. Maureen, seated across from Liam, swallowed the food in her mouth, and couldn’t help but ask curiously,

"What are they saying on the forum?

Give me the gist." Niel looked at Liam. Liam: "Someone is asking you something and you’re acting mute?" Niel: "..." You didn’t allow me to talk just now, can you please not be so hypocritical?!

Niel explained: "People on the forum are simply trying to find out who posted this thread.

The post was traced to an IP address within the school. It’s clear that someone in our school posted it. You were at the training camp during those few days, Maureen, so it has nothing to do with you.

So who might have posted it? Now they suspect someone in our class." Drake, sitting across from Niel, said: "Obviously someone who has a grudge against Bianca did this.

I even suspect that Ann did it, but if Ann has such skills, she could be a spy." Maureen looked at Liam: "Do you want me to help clear your name?"

Liam waved his hand nonchalantly: "I don’t care about such rumors.

It’s just amusing that these people seem to undervalue my taste. Would I resort to anonymous and cowardly ways if I were to stir things up?"

"Exactly." Niel proudly stated, "Obviously Liam would arrange for a helicopter to drop copies of paternity tests from above."

Liam just nodded with a smug ’Hmm’ of agreement. Maureen: What’s there to be smug about?

"Anyway, before we find out who is responsible for this, you’re unfortunately shouldering part of the blame."

Maureen couldn’t help turning her beef-filled plate towards Liam.

She held the mentality of ’Since I like him, I want him to eat more and grow stronger.’

Seeing her serving him, Liam blushed a little, yet he swiftly forked the serving back onto her plate.

"Why is she serving him when she’s so skinny herself?"

Maureen gave him a surprised look, and just as she was about to take the food back, Liam outstretched his Spoon to block hers.

"Are you serving me the food you don’t like? I don’t want it!"

Liam attempted to hide his blushing ears and said with a scowl,

"Do you see me as someone who eats leftovers?"

Defeated, Maureen pulled her Spoon back and put the beef into her mouth.

What kind of immature straight man can’t even understand when someone likes him, let alone show any affection?

In the past, Maureen and Josephine used to eat in the canteen together, while Liam and Niel would mostly eat out or order unhealthy take-outs.

But ever since Maureen started to hang out with them, the four of them would often dine together.

In contrast, Drake would usually have meals with different girls.

After finishing his meal, Liam carelessly stood up, picked up his own tray, and then Maureen’s.

Maureen observed him with his jacket unbuttoned and the zipper dangling.

She was afraid that the oil from the tray might spill onto him, and was also concerned about the slippery canteen floor possibly causing him to lose his balance and fall.

She quickly walked over, took back her tray, and said,

"No need to act like a gentleman, just take care of your own."

After that, she left hurriedly to dispose of her tray. Liam stood behind her: "What’s with this straightforward girl? Can’t she see my feelings for her?

Josephine and Niel exchanged glances behind them, wanting to kick the ’dog food’ in front of them out of the way.

Even though these two weren’t together yet, why did they always feel like they were already feeding on their lovey-dovey vibes?
