The Purgatory Calamity -
Chapter 791 - 753: Twisting the Will of the Great Demon God
Chapter 791: Chapter 753: Twisting the Will of the Great Demon God
"He Motian, Zimo."
Mou Qi gave a faint smile, nodded at the two uninvited guests, and said, "Long time no see."
Being High Gods, they naturally knew each other.
There were many Divine Spirits in the vast Star River, but there were only a few dozen High Gods, each of whom was a figure of great renown.
And He Motian had always been one of the most outstanding among the High Gods, extremely famous.
This was because He Motian, who was not originally from the Demon Clan, had joined the ranks of the Great Demon Gods through the practice of the Demon Tao Spell, making him an anomaly in the Outer Star River.
Because of this, he as a Great Demon God faced much controversy within the Demon Clan.
Many from the Demon Clan, who were Demon Gods themselves, did not truly accept his status as a Great Demon God. In the past, they had repeatedly made an issue of He Motian’s identity.
However, when the Mo Tian Overlord fell, and the Demon Clan and Demon Gods began to fracture and face joint attacks from former enemies,
it was this Great Demon God of the Giant Spirit Race who, through extraordinary means, reunited the scattered Demon Gods.
The Demon Clan and the Demon Gods, instead of collapsing after the fall of the Mo Tian Overlord, were able to hold onto the remaining twenty-six Demon Realms, and He Motian’s contributions were indispensable.
Since then, this Great Demon God of the Giant Spirit Race had also earned the trust of those Demon Gods.
Mou Qi was aware of He Motian’s prowess and also knew of Zimo’s capabilities.
Seeing these two arriving, he suddenly became polite and, smiling, said, "My visit this time is not to vie with you two for the opportunities in Purgatory. It’s like this; I have some old matters to resolve with Han Yi, so I came to take a look."
"Han Yi?" He Motian said with an intrigued expression.
Hearing that the other party was here for the Goddess of Cold Crystal and not harboring other schemes, he immediately sighed in relief.
With the face towards Zimo, he gave Zimo a meaningful look before speaking to Mou Qi, "We heard you were coming and thought we should definitely come to see you. Ah, our affairs in Purgatory aren’t going well. God Luo has descended into a body below, and right now we are both listening to him."
By bringing up Hongyan, He Motian was telling Mou Qi that even if he still harbored other intentions, he needed to weigh the signifiance of Hongyan, the Sovereign.
"Haha, really, I have no interest in Purgatory; don’t misunderstand," laughed Mou Qi as he explained.
He enjoyed his conversation with He Motian greatly.
Zimo, also a High God, was not familiar with him in the past and did not interject, only looking curiously at the Hanjing Divine Platform where Mou Qi was.
"Birds of a feather," Ying Yue cursed inwardly.
She had initially thought that He Motian and Zimo, being two High Gods, would have some grievances with Mou Qi and would resent his arrival.
That would have given her and Han Yi a chance to maneuver.
Unexpectedly, He Motian and Mou Qi were on such familiar terms, all smiles in their conversation.
"Ying Yue, thank you for your help during this time", Han Yi sighed softly beside her, his brows filled with the sorrow of parting, "Those things we share, I’ll leave them to you to look after and protect, as I will be leaving with Mou Qi."
He had resigned himself to fate.
Without a strong backing, even though he had gathered plenty of Divine Crystals, unless Mou Qi agreed to write off the debt, he was still helpless.
After He Motian and Zimo heard that Mou Qi had come for him, both immediately breathed easier.
Their stance was clear: they would side with Mou Qi.
In such a situation, what could he and Ying Yue do?
With things having reached this point, it was better not to drag Ying Yue into this predicament as well; he might as well take the burden upon himself.
"There will be a way. We have gained a lot; I think..."
Ying Yue whispered, still planning to advise her not to lose hope.
"Lord Mou Qi!" Han Yi suddenly raised his voice, as if he’d made up his mind, and lamented, "I will go with you!"
"Isn’t that right?" Mou Qi nodded with a smile, addressing him in front of He Motian and Zimo, "You know who I am in the Spirit Race, right? Leaving this cursed place with me, you might even have hope of becoming a High God, isn’t that better than your current situation?"
"Heh, do your so-called gains compare to the treasures in my treasury?"
He disdainfully glanced at Ying Yue.
He had heard Ying Yue’s words but had no interest at all; he simply did not regard the Divine Artifacts collected by a Middle-level God.
"Yes, Mou Qi..." He Motian echoed the speech.
Suddenly, in the deep sea of his soul, an unusual thought emerged.
This thought came so abruptly that by the time he noticed it, it had rapidly grown too strong to suppress.
He suddenly felt as if another will had permeated, causing his many Demon Souls to surge abnormally, stirring soul waves that were not his own.
"Wait a minute." He Motian’s tone changed abruptly, he exclaimed, "Mou Qi, what do you mean by taking Han Yi away?"
Zimo paused, his eyes strangely piercing as he finally interjected, "He Motian, it’s none of your business, curb your curiosity and avoid prying into the reasons."
The assertiveness of Mou Qi and the reluctant misery of Han Yi spoke volumes.
Zimo probably guessed what was happening.
But Han Yi was not a Spirit Race divine being and had never had any dealings with him; he wouldn’t confront Mou Qi just for a Han Yi.
"Haha, Han Yi only became a Middle-level God with my help back in the day. He owes me, so isn’t it natural that I bring him back to my Star Domain?" Mou Qi thought He Motian was just curious, still wearing a smile on his face.
"What if I’m unwilling?" He Motian grinned coldly.
Mou Qi froze as if seeing him for the first time and said, "He Motian, do you know what you are saying?"
"I do."
All three of He Motian’s faces bore the same expression.
Under the utterly astonished gaze of Zimo, Ying Yue, and the Sun God, he domineeringly said, "I want you to give Han Yi freedom, do you understand me now?"
Mou Qi’s expression chilled. "Are you serious?"
"I am very serious," He Motian responded.
"Good! Good you, He Motian, actually vying with me for a woman!" Mou Qi nodded, now holding a staff adorned with numerous gemstones in his hand.
His sleeves, forehead, corners of his eyes, and arms suddenly burned with nine-colored Divine Fire.
Inside the Moon Temple, there were cold flames, fierce flames, soul-annihilating flames, and vibrant flames spreading outward from his Divine Fire.
"He Motian, you better think it through, think about who is behind me!"
Mou Qi threatened.
He knew full well, as both were High Gods, he might not necessarily be a match for He Motian.
And above this Misty Sea in the Star River, there were many Demon Gods under He Motian’s command.
Here, he had no advantage at all.
Thus, he invoked the Sovereign behind him.
"If that one has to come forward over such a trifle for you, Mou Qi, I’ll just consider myself unlucky." He Motian, with a twisted smile, pointed outside and said, "Mou Qi, do you want to go outside and battle me?"
"No need."
Mou Qi gave him a deep look, retracted the nine-colored Divine Fire, the staff also disappeared into his body, and said, "He Motian, I will stay here for a while."
"We, the Spirit Race, will have other divine beings come here to participate in the events above the Misty Sea."
"He Motian, this is the trouble you sought for yourself."
