The Purgatory Calamity
Chapter 786 - 748: Chaos

Chapter 786: Chapter 748: Chaos

In the void of the Fifth Realm,

Without the existence of an "overhead curtain" blocking the sky, the sky darkened just like in the Fourth Realm, and everyone could see pieces of fragmented lands.

"The Sovereign’s robe!"

"Mo Tian Overlord, the former leader of the Outer Realm Sky Demon Race!"

"Tsk! A robe, actually sealing the sky of the Fifth Realm for millions of years, it’s truly hard to believe."

Following Pang Jian’s explanation, Su Wenrou and Yin Ji frequently glanced at the robe in his hands.

The two women were utterly astonished.

"These Outer World Demon Gods really have some nasty tastes,"

Pu Zhaotian gave a wry smile, stroking his multi-layered chin thoughtfully, "With this robe in hand, you can discern a lot about the demon gods from the Outer Realm? Can you see their avatars, as well as the actions of their true bodies?"

Pang Jian responded, "I can only see those demon gods who leave their true names on the robe."

"Can you see He Motian?" Su Wenrou asked curiously.

"Yes, I can see him," Pang Jian nodded and said, "His Divine Consciousness that descended to Purgatory was killed by Zhu Ji before it could succeed. Another one above the Misty Sea is raging furiously."

"Pang Jian!"

Li Wang had also arrived, overhearing their conversation, he expressed with surprise, "Since you can sense them, do those demon gods out there know you are spying on them?"

The thought that a robe could give insights into all the moves of the demon gods slightly tempted Li Wang.

He was skilled at strategizing.

If he could use a Great Demon God like He Motian, to learn about the various plans of alien tribes from space, he could prepare in advance and give their adversaries a major setback.

"I don’t know yet," Pang Jian replied candidly.

Li Wang was immediately disappointed. He thought for a while, then said, "Pu Zhaotian, I think there is no rush to enter the Seventh Realm to participate in the dispute between the two Sovereigns. You should head to the upper world to understand the changes in ’Heaven Forbidden.’ Both the Ghost Mother and Jiang Fan, along with Master Su, should try to see if they can break through their limits."

"That Outer Heavenly Spirit wasn’t wrong," he continued. "We are still too weak, not qualified enough to challenge the two Sovereigns."

"Even though they are not truly themselves, we still lack that kind of power, don’t you think?"

Witnessing the Stone Eater remotely infusing a beam of light that easily broke through the barrier enveloping the Fifth Continent, and after seeing Luo Hongyan’s powers contesting each other in the void, Li Wang realized that the Stone Eater wasn’t spouting nonsense.

A true god who had not managed to prove himself in Purgatory, and hadn’t elevated his realm further, was truly nothing of consequence.

"I’m fine with either," Pu Zhaotian shrugged his shoulders. Squeezing Yin Ji’s hand tightly, he said, "As long as you’re not thinking of sacrificing my woman, I don’t mind waiting."

Sweetness was all over Yin Ji’s face.

Li Wang glanced at them and said, "I’ll go back and make arrangements."

He didn’t inquire in detail about the origin of the robe in Pang Jian’s hands, but being trapped in the Fifth Realm for so long, he had many urgent matters to attend to.

"Right, we’ll talk about the robe later, I also need to return to the Upper Realm," Pu Zhaotian signalled to Pang Jian and left with Yin Ji.

"Heaven Forbidden" was exhibiting issues, and he also felt it now, preparing to find out the reasons.

"I’m also returning to the Pure Land!" Su Wenrou, staring at the robe in Pang Jian’s hands, hesitated before adding, "Take great care with this item, make sure you don’t let it corrupt your Spiritual Intelligence."

A relic of the Sovereign is a potent artifact of the Demon Tao, not to be taken lightly.

In the Purgatory World, the number of those who had completely fallen into the Demon Tao due to exposure to such demon instruments was countless!

Pang Jian solemnly said, "I will be careful!"

"You must be cautious!"

...

The Fifth Continent, at the summit of the Heavenly Tribulation Pillar in Bagua City.

A soul spirit of breathtaking beauty silently materialized.

He didn’t hover above Bagua City or show himself in front of Pang Jian and the many departing Human True Gods; instead, he appeared inside the city.

The warriors of the alien tribes of the Fifth Continent were also unable to catch a glimpse of him.

"Light has filtered through."

Looking at the gloomy sky, a cold smile played on his beautiful lips, seemingly in a good mood.

He commanded six Great Tao Laws—Light, Darkness, Death and Life, Flame, and Cold Ice.

Yet his innate Divine Skills and Secret Spell, always, were the core Supreme Tao of Light, branded deep within his blood and soul.

He also reached the rank of Sovereign through the Tao of Light.

The previous Fifth Realm was perpetually enshrouded in darkness, never seeing the light of day.

In the mysterious domain of darkness, that fallen Black Phoenix was undeniably the first.

What he schemed for was the Supreme Dark Path learned from the Black Phoenix.

Only by having both light and darkness under his control could he attempt to strike at the Realm of Divine King.

But until he succeeded, and before he could gather the Supreme Dark Laws within himself, the end of the Divine Tao was marked by the Black Phoenix.

The conflict in Purgatory was far from reaching a conclusion that could definitively seal the fate of all parties, and any action that could expel darkness and bring light to the Fifth Realm was actually indirectly helping him.

The robe from the Great Demon God Mo Tian isolated the light from the upper world, darkening the Fifth Realm indefinitely.

He knew the robe was hindering him, but because his True Body couldn’t descend, he was also unable to lift it.

The Original Demon’s Tao, due to different pursuits from Mo Tian’s and the extreme repulsion of the robe towards the Original Demon, similarly prevented the Original Demon from refining the robe and removing it.

He and the Original Demon, working together, could only make this robe "thicker" and trap True God Li Wang within it.

Born in Purgatory, Pang Jian, identifying as a member of the Human Race, grasped the Great Tao Truth of Mo Tian and recreated this robe, which greatly surprised Him.

Surprising as it may have been, He was the actual beneficiary.

Without this robe covering the sky, the light of the world above Purgatory shone straight down.

He could then gather Divine Power through stars, the sun, the moon, lights, gemstones, and all luminous objects.

Even His True Body could, in future, hang in the starry space above Purgatory, allowing infinite Power of Light to permeate down, greatly enhancing the magical powers of the body inside Purgatory.

"You have unwittingly done me a favor."

After murmuring this, He disappeared once more.

...

"Fahua."

On the nameless Fragment Land of the Fifth Realm, Pang Jian rubbed two ancient demon scripts together, gathering Divine Consciousness to sense.

The pitch-black robe in his hands surged with endless evil and malevolent thoughts, and vast Demon Element Power was available for use.

But when his consciousness lingered on the two demon scripts "Fahua," only the image of Fahua was suddenly materialized.

"Boom!"

A grand and tragic battlefield scene suddenly emerged in his mind.

The eyes of the Great Demon God Fa Jie, and those Observers loyal to Fa Jie, all became part of Pang Jian’s view.

While in Purgatory, he could fully see the war in Netherworld Prison.

When his Primordial Spirit shattered and turned into clusters of Undying Soul Fire burning in the mysterious Sea of Souls, he would not have been able to see Netherworld Prison again.

Yet, the robe from Mo Tian Overlord gave him extra windows, allowing him to observe Netherworld Prison from multiple angles.

Thus, he saw that the vast land where Long Di was located had been submerged by the sky-covering Thunderous Lightning.

Dazzling blood light, along with dense, silver lightning, twisted and writhed like giant pythons, intent on strangling all life on that land.

Fan Di’s terrifying demon body was scattered in pieces, the blood staining that continent.

A Sky-supporting Giant Ape with blood-red fur and raging Demon Pupils, ferociously terrifying in appearance, stood in the center of the continent.

He was more imposing than Great Demon God Hemo Tian, much taller than the Thunder God Mountain in Thunder Prison, his body swirling with crimson blood rays, exuding an earth-shattering aura.

The blood rays beside Him were physical Bloodline Crystal Chains external to his body, enveloping the true essence of myriad demons.

Heaven, earth, life, and death seemed to all be within a mere thought of His.

He issued ancient roars, the sound of His destruction causing all members of the Nether Tribe and Netherworld Gods to tremble, forcing the weaker Nether Tribe children to cough blood and die.

Where His eyes landed, some lands in the deep-sea depths were instantly drowned in blood.

By stomping His foot, the most expansive land in Netherworld Prison shook thunderously, causing mountains to collapse.

Mountains, rivers, societies, and terrestrial stars—He could annihilate them with a mere raise of His hand.

His immense ferocity intimidated the beings of Netherworld Prison. The power He displayed left Pang Jian in awe, making him feel that Long Di would likely struggle to withstand.

Yet Long Di was clearly doing well.

Compared to the vicious and colossal figure of the Old Ape, Long Di seemed like a mere mustard seed facing the world’s largest ancient fierce creature.

However, as billions of bloodlines and streaks of lightning pursued and slashed at him, Long Di appeared to soar through them with ease.

Not a single streak of lightning, not a beam of blood light, could touch Him.

The space-time constraints and the inversion of heaven and earth by the Old Ape had no effect on Long Di.

This absolute ruler of Netherworld Prison, unanimously revered by all Netherworld Gods, kept flying around the vast and terrifying Old Ape, joking continuously.

It seemed that Long Di had never made a move.

But this ferociously raging Old Ape let out increasingly frantic roars and howls, causing the whole continent to gradually tear apart.

The Demonic Eye of the Great Demon God Fa Jie and the viewpoint of the many Observers could only show Pang Jian what was happening, without detecting the undercurrents in the dark.

But Pang Jian knew that Long Di had not stopped.

Long Di’s offensive, and the deadly blows he dealt to the Old Ape, all occurred on another level.

—Soul!

Just as he had done years ago when facing an attack from Alien Gods from Outer Space, directly engaging in a battle of Spiritual Souls.

He believed that in the mind of Long Di, deep within the soul of the Old Ape, another even more terrifying war was raging, unseen by ordinary people.

"The two rulers of Purgatory are clashing."

"In Netherworld Prison, the two strongest in the Misty Sea are also fighting to become the ruler. Both wars won’t end soon; the Netherworld Prison battle might conclude a bit sooner."

"My Undying Soul Fire is also gathering in the Sea of Souls; maybe I can still wait for an opportunity."

Pang Jian mused to himself.

He withdrew his Divine Consciousness, no longer focusing deliberately on Fa Jie or observing other demons and Great Demon Gods.

"This robe..."

He draped the pitch-black robe over himself just like the Mo Tian Overlord had done.
