The Purgatory Calamity

Chapter 730: Chapter 692: One of the Four_1

Li Yuqing appeared in the Vast Misty Sea.

With her sword light condensed into a protective barrier, she prevented her limbs from coming into contact with the grey mist, lest she suffer the erosive depletion caused by the alien power within the fog.

She knew she might have to stay in the mist for quite some time, and she wanted to conserve as much of her combat strength as possible.

The moment she fell from the Star River, she understood that she was lost.

She did not know the location of the Thunder Prison, couldn’t sense the Boundary Wall, and was surrounded by endless fog in every direction.

She was anxious to return to Purgatory, but how? There was nothing in Purgatory that could establish Soul Sensing with her to provide guidance.

"I can only wait for Pang Jian to come find me."

She was not aware of the spatial distance she was from the Thunder Prison at this moment, but she smartly refrained from wandering aimlessly, convinced that Pang Jian would definitely find her.

This was her first time leaving the realm of "Prisons," and she was unfamiliar with the properties of the Mysterious Fog and didn’t realize that each descent would cast her elsewhere.

But she made the wisest decision.

Even if the silver Bee Insect had not come looking for her, and even if she had not caught the attention of a messenger from the Netherworld Prison, Pang Jian would eventually find her if he kept searching relentlessly.

"I can take you to see Pang Jian."

A silver Bee Insect emerged from the Misty Sea behind her, uttering the voice of a messenger from the Netherworld Prison: "After you broke through the Thunder Prison Heaven Forbidden, he also hurriedly followed."

"Who are you?" Li Yuqing frowned.

"I am a Netherworld God, kind of a friend to your Human Race," the silver Bee Insect smiled and said, "If you don’t trust me, I can also bring Pang Jian to you."

"No need, I’ll go with you," Li Yuqing pursed her lips slightly and said, "Lead the way."

While in the Misty Sea of the Thunder Prison, Pang Jian sought the advice about the Netherworld Prison and Netherworld Gods from Lei Ying. She casually listened on the side.

Now, seeing a Netherworld God entrust their Divine Consciousness to a Bee Insect, she guessed it had something to do with Pang Jian.

It was only a Bee Insect, after all; how much could it possibly turn things upside down?

When Netherworld Gods leave the Netherworld Prison, they often lack a flesh and blood body and exist in a state of Spiritual Soul.

Just a Spiritual Soul; she didn’t harbor too much fear.

"It’s truly incredible that you, with your Immortal Realm level of cultivation from the Human Race, managed to break through the Heaven Forbidden of another ’Prison’ realm," the silver Bee Insect generously lavished praise.

Li Yuqing did not respond.

With a thought, she summoned the "Pearl of Destiny" to her hand and held it tenderly in her palm.

She attempted to establish a connection in the Mysterious Fog with that generous entity to discuss her current predicament.

Recently, whenever she encountered an unsolvable piece of knowledge about Fate, she would consult with it.

That entity would answer her questions patiently, with an incredibly detached tone.

Occasionally, when she felt distressed and troubled about her father’s death in battle, she would share her sorrow and distress.

During those times, that entity would often remain silent, simply listening as a qualified audience.

Communication with that entity had been unimpeded while she was within Thunder Prison. Unsure if it would be the same in the Mysterious Fog, she decided to give it a try.

Through the "Pearl of Destiny," she successfully made contact with the entity and said, "I have left Thunder Prison, and I have entered the Mysterious Fog. I plan to return to Purgatory to merge with a strand of Fate and become a god. However, I have no direction in the Mysterious Fog, ah, I’ve heard there are powerful beings in the fog..."

Li Yuqing spoke with divine intonation.

A clear will, woven with many voices, transmitted from the "Pearl of Destiny," informing her that it could guide her back to Purgatory.

It also said that she need not worry about the Alien Gods beyond the Mysterious Fog, nor should she fear the powerful beings within it.

After receiving this message, Li Yuqing was filled with surprise.

The entity, whose whereabouts were unknown, who had selflessly taught her the wonders of fate and continuously nurtured her with power through the "Pearl of Destiny", could this entity truly help her safely return to Purgatory?

Would Pang Jian not be needed to guide her?

Li Yuqing, with doubts in her heart, sped through the Misty Sea, the Bee Insects struggling to keep pace with her.

It was unclear how much time had passed when Pang Jian and a skeletal figure with wings on its back suddenly came into her view.

The "Pearl of Destiny" in her hand suddenly lit up.

In the eye sockets of the Fan Di demon bone, two blue ghostly flames quivered with a "poof", and silently flew out of the sockets, merging into a pale blue silhouette.

It was the figure of a man, skinny and somewhat similar to the Ghost Clan in appearance, yet his stature was more slender.

His facial features were not clearly presented, nor were the finer details of his body revealed; he simply gazed at the "Pearl of Destiny" in Li Yuqing’s hand with his soul’s silhouette.

He let out an embarrassed chuckle and said, "I didn’t expect this girl to catch Your eye, she is of the Human Race of Purgatory. Oh, my apologies, I forgot that You don’t care about these things."

This Netherworld God, in the form of a soul silhouette, saluted the "Pearl of Destiny".

All along the way, He had not detected anything special about the "Pearl of Destiny" through the Bee Insect until the pearl shone brightly, and then He understood everything in an instant.

The great being in the mysterious void beyond the Outer Star River had concealed Their aura within the pearl, curious to see what kind of scheme He was up to.

The envoy from the Netherworld Prison, guessing the true identity of the other party, did not dare to be negligent and quickly explained in a panic.

His reaction, however, left Li Yuqing stunned.

Pang Jian, too, was shocked, staring at the "Pearl of Destiny" in Li Yuqing’s hand, realizing that the fortune she had gained in Thunder Prison was perhaps more astonishing than he had imagined.

"His name is Pang Jian, he is also of the Human Race from Purgatory, as well as a Realm God of Purgatory, wielding the Realm God Card. Indeed, he is our leader, and he wishes to meet with him, would You... mind?" the envoy from the Netherworld Prison asked.

Then, in the form of a soul image, He repeatedly expressed his gratitude and smiled, saying, "It’s good that You don’t mind. Thank you, I do not know our leader’s thoughts, I am merely responsible for escorting people."

Pang Jian and Li Yuqing were utterly confused.

Yet it was evident that this envoy from Netherworld Prison was communicating with that mysterious being through the stone pearl.

A moment later, when the "Pearl of Destiny" ceased to emit light, it was this envoy from the Netherworld Prison who assured Pang Jian, "Rest easy, she can return safely to Purgatory without needing your concern."

After hesitating for a moment, it was still the envoy from the Netherworld Prison who then said to Li Yuqing, "With that esteemed one favoring you, within the Mysterious Fog, in the Star River above, in all the Star Domains ruled by the gods, you can go forth boldly and with confidence!"

His tone was filled with envy.

By now, even if Li Yuqing were slow to understand, she guessed that the one who had taught her the Skill of Destiny must be a towering figure from the Outer Star River.

"Are you sure she can soar through the Mysterious Fog?" Pang Jian asked in wonder.

"Utterly certain!" answered the envoy from the Netherworld Prison.

Nodding, Pang Jian smiled indifferently and said to Li Yuqing, "I know you’re anxious to return to Purgatory—go ahead. We’ll meet later in Purgatory. I was planning to be your guide, but as you can find your own way back now, I won’t accompany you on this journey."

Li Yuqing looked sharply at the soul form of the Netherworld God and said, "I have a feeling that He is up to no good."

"I am but a messenger!" the visitor from Netherworld hurriedly defended himself.

Pang Jian said nonchalantly, "It’s fine, I know what I’m doing."

"Well then, see you in Purgatory," said Li Yuqing as she rode her sword away.

She was very clear that she could not afford to delay any longer; she urgently needed the fate from Purgatory, and she was drawing ever closer to becoming a True God.

Only after she had disappeared did Pang Jian ask, "The one at the other end of the pearl, who is He?"

"One of the Four, the God of Destiny."
