The Purgatory Calamity -
Chapter 712 - 674 Destiny’s Gift_1
Chapter 712: Chapter 674 Destiny’s Gift_1
Pu Zhaotian smiled and said, "Having you in Purgatory is a great blessing for the Human Race."
No sooner had his voice fallen, than he extended a sword from afar towards the Fragment Land surrounded by fierce flames.
The Divine Sword Kuang Wang shone with a brilliance of ten thousand rays, and a gigantic "well"-shaped sword light storm formed, descending towards the Fire God Forbidden Land dragged here by Yan Lie.
"Hum hum!"
The humming of the sword reverberated through heaven and earth.
The True Essence of Sword Tao that Pu Zhaotian had comprehended evolved into scenes of wind, flowers, snow, moon, the passing of four seasons, birth, aging, sickness, death, and the transformation of seas into mulberry fields.
Within the Fragment Land, Sword Intent permeated, altering the laws of the Fire God, slicing, tearing, extinguishing the flames of the Fragment Land.
The myriad sufferings of the human world, the struggles of all beings, were also contained within the sword light storm.
Sword Intent became a cage, shrouding heaven and earth.
I myself am also a cage, willingly remaining in Purgatory forever, not seeking the glory of the world beyond.
Only to protect the lives of the Human Race.
The path within Pu Zhaotian’s heart was wantonly expressed through the sword light storm.
The "well"-shaped sword light storm erupted over the Fire God Fragment Land, as Pu Zhaotian’s Sword Intent fiercely cleaved through the Fragment Land, causing mountains to explode and the ground to shatter.
Aman roared and was forced to flee from the rupturing Fragment Land.
The severely wounded Shajia also stood up on Aman’s broad shoulders.
She wielded the Spear of Bright and gritted her teeth to swallow a divine healing pill, activating the secrets of the bloodline in her heart.
"Whoosh!"
An infinite radiance dazzled forth, enveloping her and Aman’s towering body.
The sword light rushing towards Aman was extinguished by the Bright Power within Shajia’s body, snuffed out like faint electricity in the void.
Yet, the Fire God Fragment Land eventually still collapsed and broke apart, turning into numerous meteorites falling from the sky.
Zhu Ji shook the Divine Realm of Yan Lie with "force," causing Yan Lie to be overwhelmed, and Pu Zhaotian, after descending, merely wielded one sword to sever the Fire God Fragment Land.
At this moment, Ghost Mother summoned the "Reincarnation Pool" in the Fifth Realm, converging Mysterious Yin Power and fighting with the power of souls and Alien Power.
When Lie Yang fought with the "Hunyuan Big Sun Chart," he was also seized by Zhu Ji’s Sun God Fire, causing him to fall into a disadvantageous position against Ghost Mother.
The skillful hider Jingsha, could not escape in front of Ghost Mother, and did not manage to severely injure or kill Ghost Mother during the fierce battle between Lie Yang and Ghost Mother.
And Li Yuanli, Jiang Fan, Su Wenrou, Tian Du San Ren, Yin Ji, these True Gods, were also covetously observing from the side.
"Where are You, exactly? Why haven’t You appeared yet?" Shajia couldn’t help but wonder.
The number of their mightiest had never exceeded that of the Human Race’s True Gods.
When Chi Feng, Wubi, Jiu Luo, and Li Bai succumbed one after another, and Qi Xu got deeply trapped in the Sixth Realm, their overall strength weakened even further.
All along, their confidence had been Yan Lie and the Sovereign.
Now that Yan Lie was actually restrained by Zhu Ji, it was beyond their belief, making them even more reliant on the Sovereign.
If Luo Hongyan did not make a move, this war that they had started but was clearly out of control, they would undoubtedly lose.
Shajia, Aman, Jingsha, and Lie Yang—all their gazes, intentionally or unintentionally, looked towards the darkness below, all anticipating Luo Hongyan’s appearance.
After Pu Zhaotian’s single strike, he was in no hurry to deliver a second sword thrust.
Like Su Wenrou and the others, just like those mightiest of Alien Tribes, he too squinted towards that thick Darkness, also worrying about Luo Hongyan suddenly appearing.
The Sovereign from the Hall of Gods is a supreme existence stronger than Zimo and He Motian; once His God Status fully awakens, even if He doesn’t descend in His true form, He must not be underestimated.
Everyone felt that the battle occurring here must not have escaped Him.
Even if He did not show up, even if He might be in the Sixth Realm, or even the Seventh Realm.
Even Pang Jian had fallen into the Sixth Realm and could now emerge effortlessly; naturally, He could too.
After all, Zhu Ji was continuously depleting Yan Lie’s Divine Realm with Filthy Alien Power.
After all, the more the Filthy Alien Power is depleted, the more advantageous it is for them, so Pu Zhaotian and the others were in no rush.
...
Thunder Prison.
Li Yuqing, under Lei Ying’s guidance, departed from Thunder God Mountain, which Thunder God had found enlightenment on in his early years, wandering through different lands of this world, experiencing cultures distinct from Purgatory.
Pang Jian was at ease letting her leave, knowing that those three Demon Gods had yet to come to Thunder God Mountain to urge his departure.
The Alien God Spirits planning an ambush on him in the Mysterious Fog outside of Thunder Prison were probably not ready yet.
Under these circumstances, both parties had not yet truly torn their faces.
Li Yuqing should be safe for a short time with Lei Ying accompanying her.
Suddenly, a split Fragment Land came into Li Yuqing’s view, where she saw an overgrown corner and a dilapidated temple amidst the wild grass.
This is the second layer of Thunder Prison, with six complete continents and many Fragment Lands.
She had already visited two lands accompanied by Lei Ying and met many people from the Thunder Clan, also observing the evident rise of the Demon Race.
She stopped because the temple caught her attention.
"There’s nothing interesting to see; long ago, there were beings here who worshipped a Dragonfly God, but that god seems to have perished in the war against the Alien God Spirits."
"The Dragonfly God no longer responded to the believers, and no one continued the worship, leading to the fracturing of the Fragment Land and the ruin of the temple," Lei Ying casually explained.
Li Yuqing uttered a "hmm," suddenly envisioning a scene in her mind.
The scene was of her inside the decrepit temple, standing next to the wooden statue of the Dragonfly God, broken into three pieces, touching a stone bead held in the dragonfly’s mouth with her hand.
This would happen in the not-so-distant future.
This was her future.
She could rarely foresee her own future, especially since she clearly hadn’t used the power of destiny nor had she summoned the fate techniques she perceived.
Some force had prompted her to gaze upon her own future, a force hidden within the temple, spoken by the mouth of the Dragonfly God.
It was that stone bead!
Li Yuqing gracefully flew down to the Fragment Land beneath her feet and entered the spider-web-infested, dilapidated temple, where she saw the green wooden dragonfly sculpture, broken into three parts.
She also caught sight of the gray-white stone bead.
Without any hesitation, she reached out to touch the stone bead, turning the scene she had just foreseen into reality.
She infused her own power into it.
She poured her understanding and feelings about fate, along with her solitary experiences pondering the true essence of fate in the Purgatory World, into the stone bead as a stream of images.
"Boom!"
Suddenly, she saw a majestic hall within the stone bead, seemingly built of strange stones of fate, filled with an aura of solemnity and austerity.
This hall stood majestically in an unknown Star River, surrounded by twinkling stars.
Yet, it wasn’t situated on the surface of any star.
It existed independently, suspended in the mysterious cosmos, exuding a vast and expansive presence.
The beings from outside the heavens, including the gods, all knew of its existence and yearned to behold it, yet few were fortunate enough to encounter it.
Li Yuqing gazed at it, feeling the aura it emitted, when suddenly she heard a voice.
This voice seemed to treat all beings impartially, harboring no animosity toward any race, nor favoring any species, indifferent to all.
"Who are you?"
"Li Yuqing."
"Where are you?"
"Thunder Prison."
"Can you sense destiny?"
"I’ve been able to since birth."
"Good."
In the grand, mysterious hall, streams of light flew out, each bearing knowledge of destiny, branding Divine Secret Techniques, ignoring layers of spatial barriers, and infusing into that stone bead.
He didn’t ask Li Yuqing about her race, didn’t inquire about her experiences, nor did He require her to promise anything in return.
He simply gave.
He gave the profound mysteries of the Great Tao related to destiny and His own power of destiny all at once.
He gave without seeking any repayment.
He called it... a gift, to His fellow traveler, to contemplate His ways, to obtain His grace.
In the boundless expanse of the Star River, to randomly come across someone who, like Himself, comprehended the Tao was an incredible stroke of luck; He didn’t care about the other’s racial background.
He just wanted to see His kind emerge.
He wanted to see beings like Himself, naturally aware of destiny yet stumbling upon it, to be able to continue on a comparatively smooth path forward.
Fellow travelers were too scarce, and He felt lonely.
...
In Thunder Prison, within the tiny temple, Li Yuqing’s face was streaked with tears.
She didn’t know why she was crying.
She had simply touched the stone bead, and had been bestowed with selfless affection by some mysterious existence outside the heavens.
Fate techniques, the power of destiny, and the stone bead that had instantly become a Divine Artifact of fate.
The other party had merely asked a few simple questions, confirming she truly could perceive the power of destiny, and then, without a second word, bestowed everything he could give.
He didn’t question her race, her origins, nor did she have to assume any responsibility.
Such profound affection, such immense love, moved her greatly.
This emotion made her weep.
Until now, she had despised all divine beings from beyond the heavens.
The education she had received since childhood made her think that every Alien God Spirit harbored malicious intentions toward their Human Race in Purgatory, wishing for their complete annihilation.
She had always regarded the divine beings from beyond the heavens as mortal enemies, dreaming of one day bursting into the Outer Star River to slay gods.
To her, God Spirits were the natural enemies of the Human Race, and this belief was deeply ingrained.
But now it had changed.
The unidentified God Spirit held no prejudice or malice against the Human Race, nor against any beings.
Being part of the Human Race, she had received tremendous gifts from that God Spirit; she had obtained vast knowledge related to destiny, and her body was filled with immeasurable power of destiny.
This knowledge, this power of destiny, could lead to a radical transformation in her in a short period!
At this time of crisis for the Human Race, she saw Pang Jian first become a True God by condensing his fate, then saw him entangled with the Filthy Essence, forging his divine status for the second time.
She felt somewhat disheartened; she felt that she was increasingly unable to keep up with Pang Jian’s pace and was being left behind.
She knew the power of destiny she held was extraordinary and understood that her future was limitless, but the situation in Purgatory was changing too quickly, and she feared she would not have enough time.
She worried that before she could forge herself into a True God, the structure of Purgatory would be overturned, and the Human Race might already be extinct.
She had never imagined that she would come to Thunder Prison unintentionally, wandering here by chance, and that the stone bead from the mouth of the Dragonfly God would trigger a strange movement of the power of destiny within her.
Her River of Destiny was undergoing a monumental change at this moment!
The path to True God was no longer distant for her, and even higher realms seemed within reach.
