The Purgatory Calamity -
Chapter 687 - 649 Great Concept_1
Chapter 687: Chapter 649 Great Concept_1
The power situation in Purgatory was extremely complex.
The more Pang Jian delved into it, the stranger he found it.
The Human Race, having no inherent bloodline, were all mundane and ordinary before embarking on the path of cultivators.
Babies and children were even more incredibly fragile.
To cast members of the Human Race who know nothing of cultivation into the Fifth Realm, filled with Filth Alien Power, was akin to throwing them into a fire pit—a near-certain death sentence.
This point had been well demonstrated by the rise of Filth Alien Power and the early struggles of the Human Race in the Fourth Realm.
Even cultivators of lower realms found it difficult to survive in lands covered by Filth Alien Power, let alone the mundanes.
Human cultivators could cultivate a variety of Spirit Spells and Secret Skills, which seemed to match the diversity of Filth Alien Power, but since human cultivators were too weak in the early stages, they could not begin with cultivating Filth Alien Power right away.
The reason why humans had always lived in places enveloped by nature’s spiritual energy from the time they appeared in the Purgatory World...
...was that they had difficulty adapting to the Fifth Realm.
But what if there were one of a Different Kind like Pang Jian, who carried the "Chaos Sea" within and could adapt to the Filth Alien Power from an early age, and who persisted in elevating their realm with Filth Alien Power as their energy source?
Or what if a powerful cultivator, midway, expelled all their Spiritual Energy and turned to seek a higher realm’s breakthrough with Filth Alien Power—what would the ultimate outcome be?
Are there countless possibilities and choices after reaching the Immortal Realm?
Cold Ice, Thunderbolt, flames, sun, stars, the moon—the many inherently compatible Spirit Spell forces fused together to pull at the Filthy Essence and advance to True God, is that feasible?
If it is feasible, once Human cultivators who can survive the initial hardships, wouldn’t they naturally fit with Filth Alien Power in the later stages?
As for Alien Tribes, their bloodlines mostly possess uniqueness, which precisely corresponds with the characteristics of Fate.
They incorporate Fate into their bodies in the later stages, causing a fundamental change in their bloodlines, and thus they ascend to become the strongest of level ten.
Would such beings be stronger than those who break through to the tenth level bloodline with Filthy Essence?
Thirty thousand years ago, when they dominated Purgatory’s Upper Realm and lived in a world abundant with Spiritual Energy, weren’t level ten warriors frequently breaking through the Heaven Forbidden?
Their bloodlines strengthened and grew by being washed and tempered by Filth Alien Power, yet utilizing Spiritual Energy was also viable.
It was just a bit slower.
If the ultimate end, the ultimate path to the strongest level ten, through the elevation with Fate was more stable and stronger, and if most could break through the Purgatory Heaven Forbidden and step into the Outer, then perhaps all Alien Tribes would choose this path!
Upon contemplating this, an idea suddenly emerged in Pang Jian’s mind.
Human cultivators first practice cultivation in the Spiritual Energy-rich Upper Realm, focusing on tempering and forging the body until the muscles and bones are robust enough, and then they plunge into the Fifth Realm and continue ascending with Filth Alien Power.
The step of expelling Spiritual Energy and switching to Filth Alien Power might result in many who cannot adapt dying.
But with the wisdom of the Human Race, there will surely be a new cultivation path found suitable for the vast majority of cultivators!
If later generations of human cultivators follow this new path—Hollow Profound, Spirit Condensation, Soul Wandering, Extinction, Immortal—all breaking through and ascending with Filth Alien Power, until they become True Gods.
Such True Gods might even be stronger than those who advance in the Upper Realm with a single force’s essence.
If there truly exists another form of "Heaven Forbidden" beneath that endless darkness, then would such Human True Gods have the potential to break through it?
As for Alien Tribes, they are active in the Fifth Realm during the early stages, breaking through their bloodlines rapidly with Filth Alien Power.
After reaching level five or level six, they return to the Spiritual Energy-filled Upper Realm.
In a reverse approach, they purge the Filth Alien Power from their bloodline and flesh and instead temper their bloodline with nature’s spiritual energy, continuously advancing step by step.
Ultimately, they ascend to level ten with Fate’s help, then smoothly break the "Heaven Forbidden" and effortlessly soar through the Star River.
Should this prove workable for both sides, wouldn’t everyone be pleased?
Thoughts surged like a tide in Pang Jian’s mind.
Qi Xu of the Flame Clan, overwhelmed by his subversive narrative, was momentarily dazed and lost in thought.
It took quite a while for Qi Xu to lick her lush red lips and say, "Pang Jian, are you truly willing to let us live in the Upper Realm and resign the Human Race to descend into the Fifth Realm?"
The Fifth Realm, where the sun never shone and cultivation resources were scarce—who would wish to dwell there for long?
All the tribes of the Fifth Realm had struggled for so long, and for more than thirty thousand years, they never gave up the aspiration to ascend, yearning to bathe in the brilliance of the day, stars, and moon, all for the sake of finding a way out, right?
They could communicate with Alien God Spirits, so how could they not know that beyond the Purgatory lay a more vast and exciting realm?
And how could they not understand that Purgatory, despite offering everything one might need, is fundamentally a giant prison?
To break free from this prison and stand in the depths of the Star River as a God Spirit, revered and worshipped by countless tribes, is the pursuit of every strong member of the Alien Tribes!
If Pang Jian truly were willing to cede the Upper Realm, wouldn’t that make him a fellow traveler of theirs?
"I just have an idea, I do not know if it will ultimately work."
Pang Jian did not state this as absolute fact and after thinking it through added, "Only if I, as a member of the Human Race, could ascend to the True God Realm again through Filthy Essence and delve into the endless darkness of the Fifth Realm to successfully find a way to leave, thereby proving that it is possible to escape Purgatory from beneath, would my idea have a chance to be realized."
"Is that your idea?" Qi Xu scoffed with undisguised sarcasm.
Pang Jian nodded.
"To draw upon our Filthy Essence to ascend to power in a different way, all for the sake of finding a path to leave from below?" The scornful smile on Qi Xu’s face grew more overt.
Pang Jian nodded again.
"Do you know how many of our strongest beings in the Fifth Realm have fallen into that darkness, aside from the Demon Gods of the ancient times?" Qi Xu asked again.
"I do not know," Pang Jian honestly replied.
"No one has reappeared in the world, neither within Purgatory nor beyond it!"
Qi Xu didn’t give an exact number but said emphatically, "Your Human Race and the True Gods from outside have long lost contact and can hardly communicate, but that’s not the case with us."
"Every time Purgatory opens, we are able to communicate with the God Spirits from outside."
"None!"
"Pang Jian, I tell you! Not one who has plunged into darkness has appeared in the Outer Domain Galaxy! Those strongest beings, some more powerful than us, if only they could leave Purgatory and roam the Outer Star River, they would never remain unknown!"
"Not a single one, which proves the ironclad truth that they have not been able to leave!"
"That endless darkness below is the terrifying abyss that devours all vitality, and any life form that falls into it will have no chance to return!"
"Let alone the possibility of breaking through that endless darkness!"
Qi Xu was emotionally agitated.
If it were truly possible, if such a precedent had occurred, why would they have to risk their lives time and again to ascend against the sealing of the seven Heavenly Tribulation Pillars, under the thirty-thousand-year strong repression of the Human Race and the Demon Race?
Was it not because there was no way out below, no hope in sight, that they were forced to seek ascension?
If there were but one precedent, one Demon God, or any of their Rank Ten elders, who had once made a miraculous appearance beyond the heavens, proving that it was possible to leave Purgatory through this method, they too would dare to attempt it again.
The guy before her was so arrogant as to want to try his chances at the dead end. She didn’t know the truth, but she still found it laughable.
"I have two bodies at my disposal, one still soaring beyond the heavens, having just killed Youkui of the Ghost Clan. Once this body takes form, I dare to take the risk and give it a try; I’m not afraid of damaging one," Pang Jian said indifferently.
"Youkui? That’s a Middle-level God!" Qi Xu exclaimed in a low voice.
Her eyes, her expression, her doubtful and astonished demeanor all conveyed that she simply did not believe him.
Pang Jian did not explain, only said, "It’s a pity you can’t get out, nor can you contact the True Gods from beyond."
"Heh heh!"
Qi Xu laughed oddly, taking Pang Jian’s many words and fabricated lie about killing Youkui as nothing more than stalling tactics, to buy time for the refining of the Filthy Essence.
"After all that talking, isn’t it just because your other divine body is not here, and you’re afraid I will destroy you?" she said.
Her tall and sensual body was in the midst of a surging, burning fireball, shooting out fire sparks and crystalline light, with strands of scarlet lightning resonating with bloodline laws.
A boiling world of flames slowly unfolded behind her.
"Pang Jian, I truly admire you, even... harbor a bit of affection for you, I won’t deny it," she said.
"But the power displayed by your other body within the Mysterious Fog of the Northern Qi Fragment Land was truly terrifying. You have become the second new generation True God to put us under pressure after your Shifu, Pu Zhaotian."
"When the great calamity comes, there will always be new True Gods like you, braver and more fierce than the older generation."
"You and your Shifu Pu Zhaotian are destined to surpass Zhu Ji and the Ghost Mother, and we can only get rid of you as soon as possible while you haven’t reached your full potential."
"I’m sorry, you who have moved Qi Xu’s heart."
The world of burning flames surged and spread around her, her unique "Fire Domain" flowing with lightning, crystal light, and clusters of fire clouds.
Her bloodline and Qi and Blood merged into one, combined with her understanding of fire, Qi Xu created a domain unique to her.
She didn’t dare to take lightly any of Pang Jian’s bodies and was now fully alert.
Because Lord Li Bai had died, a new Rank Ten powerhouse of the Ghost Clan had died, and the Nine-headed Bird Demon God had also died.
If the death of Youkui was also true... She could hardly imagine how astonishing Pang Jian’s future would be.
"Shhla!"
A supremely sharp, vast river of silver-white sword light suddenly pierced through the Mysterious Fog and made its appearance.
The moment it touched the Misty Sea, the image of the Shadow Clan girl Li Yuqing changed. She wore a ponytail, a blue robe, and had no adornments anywhere on her body.
At first glance, she was a beautiful Human Race girl.
Only behind her hovered a silver-white giant sword so large it was inconceivable.
With the sword stationary behind her, its Sword Intent capable of tearing through the heavens and ripping apart the Boundary Wall made even Qi Xu, now advanced to Rank Ten, feel threatened.
"Heaven Treasure Sect, Li Yuqing," Qi Xu said with a slight narrowing of her eyes and a thin smile. "Before Pang Jian came to prominence, you were always ranked first on our must-kill list among the younger generation."
Li Yuqing wasn’t surprised and bowed slightly, saying, "I’m honored by your recognition."
"Little girl, you don’t think you’re Pu Zhaotian, do you? Even he, Pu Zhaotian, wouldn’t dare to challenge Lord Li Bai until he reached the peak of the Immortal Realm," Qi Xu laughed mockingly. "You’ve just stepped into the Immortal Realm and, moreover, inside our Fifth Realm’s Mysterious Fog, and you dare challenge me with a sword?"
Li Yuqing thought for a moment, then said, "Times have changed."
Qi Xu was startled.
"Like Pang Jian, like me, we are destined to surpass Pu. What he couldn’t achieve before, we, the new generation, can almost accomplish now," Li Yuqing spoke earnestly.
