The Purgatory Calamity -
Chapter 593 - 561 Faith Entrusted_1
Chapter 593: Chapter 561 Faith Entrusted_1
The Alien God Spirit, who had once appeared and torn off a limb from the Star Devourer, that tall and splendid seven-colored Divine Shadow, had been hovering in their minds recently.
Countless times they had fantasized that this powerful Alien God Spirit could once again stand under the vault of heaven.
That it could, once more, launch an attack on the Star Devourer.
With their own strength, throughout their lifetimes, even after countless ages, they would never be able to obliterate the Star Devourer.
They could only place their faint hope on the Alien God Spirit.
Because the Star Devourer had brought down an unprecedented divine punishment, exterminating those weak and innocent lives, they were even more desperately longing for the return of the Alien God Spirit.
As long as the Star Devourer perished, they were willing to pay any price.
"Kill!"
"Kill Him!"
"Please, you must kill Him!"
"We beg you, God Spirit from beyond the heavens, we will turn to worship you, willing to build temples for you, generation after generation, to offer sacrifices to your divine image!"
"Just please, kill the Star Devourer!"
The innumerable prayers, the loud roars of shouting, like the eruption of a mountain torrent, like the explosion of a thousand thunders.
In the six intact continents, some fragmented lands, and the boats and wooden vessels floating in the shadows, in every place where the creatures of the Dark Prison were active, the pleas echoed between heaven and earth.
The surviving powerhouses of the Dark Prison all looked up to the sky, gazing at that dazzling Divine Shadow.
This battle held the grand aspirations of all the beings of the Dark Prison.
Threads of power, invisible to the naked eye, undetectable even to the Spiritual Soul, yet truly existing, began to rise from various lands and Fragment Lands of the Dark Prison.
The expectations in the hearts of the beings, their prayers, their yearning appeals, all directed towards that resplendent seven-colored figure.
Those threads of power, with a clear target, all converged towards Pang Jian’s Divine Body.
These forces, beyond the scope of Pang Jian’s understanding, are called the Power of Faith.
They are ethereal, untraceable, and disregard spatial distance.
They suddenly converged on Pang Jian’s Immortal Primordial Spirit.
Pang Jian, wielding a sword, felt a slight tremor in his heart and mind.
He clearly felt that his soul’s foundation was as if nourished and irrigated by divine ambrosia.
When countless beings admire you, trust you, and see you as a God Spirit in their hearts, extraordinary powers do emerge.
Such a force is extremely miniscule on its own, so small it’s hardly worth mentioning, like a drop of water in the vast ocean.
But even the smallest power, once gathered by billions, is not to be underestimated.
Moreover, the Power of Faith could actually sublime the foundation of his soul, as if it were a scarce nutrient after becoming a God, as well as the source of power for his continued advancement.
"Faith, psychic Alien Power, accumulation makes a difference."
Feeling the power nourishing him, and experiencing the comfort of the soul, Pang Jian suddenly had an intuition.
If he, being regarded as the beacon of hope and faith by the beings of the Dark Prison at this stage, could successfully kill the Star Devourer and fulfill the intense longing of the beings of this realm.
Then, he would receive a significant amount of the Power of Faith.
And his Spiritual Soul would be purified and tempered.
...
In the shuttle-shaped ships below.
Han Yi, with bare jade feet, standing on the "Extreme Cold Ghost Mountain" and surrounded by icy Divine Power, her ice crystal-like eyes filled with excitement, said to Ying Yue, "Do you feel it?"
"This is the Power of Faith!"
"The creatures of this realm have gathered all their hopes in him."
"The Power of Faith, naturally forms and flows into his body effortlessly."
"I’ve said before, his body that radiates a seven-colored divine light is his true Divine Body! Ying Yue, are you ready?"
The "Ghost Mountain", continuously spewing out Cold Fog, had already flown towards the firmament of the Dark Prison, clearly intending to join the battle.
Ying Yue, the Moon Goddess, was also slightly shaken by Pang Jian’s summoned Immortal Primordial Spirit.
The stars twinkle, the sun and moon coexist, and the scenario of the six great Demon Realm Cave Heavens appearing looked indeed mighty.
But the real battle had not yet started.
Under such circumstances, Han Yi became impatient, immediately steering the "Extreme Cold Ghost Mountain" towards the battlefield, indicating her urgency.
That High God must have applied great pressure on Her, forcing Her to take this gamble.
That’s what Ying Yue thought.
"Enough, I’ll accompany Her madcap once, at the worst I’ll lose one Divine Artifact."
Ying Yue threw out the crescent-shaped Divine Artifact, as if riding a crescent moon swing, she, too, headed towards the star where the Star Devourer lay hidden.
The formation of the Power of Faith, converging into Pang Jian’s body, took Him by surprise.
The beings of this realm must truly be desperate, truly on the brink of annihilation, to rest their hopes on a God of the Human Race.
Don’t they know the reputation of the Human Race Gods beyond the heavens?
The creatures of this realm don’t understand at all what worshipping a Human Race God will bring to the Dark Prison.
But when Ying Yue thought about the beings of the Dark Prison being wantonly slaughtered by the Star Devourer, She suddenly felt that compared to the current situation, the consequences of worshipping a Human Race God were bearable.
"Only if you truly have sufficient strength and can make the Star Devourer die in the Dark Prison will you be worthy of this realm’s beings."
"Let’s hope that the disaster of this world will end in this era."
Ying Yue suddenly turned her head and glanced at the Dark Spirit Clan woman kneeling on the ship, gazing up at the sky with a face full of sorrow.
Once upon a time.
Before She became the Moon Goddess, when She was still a girl, She was also the saintess of a tribe.
She too had once given her all in desperate longing for the favor of a God Spirit.
Unfortunately, no God Spirit favored Her tribe at the time.
The "Realm" where She lived was remote, and simply not within the sight of those lofty God Spirits; none deigned to watch over them, to provide them with the Divine Skill to forge a Divine Tao.
It was She, Ying Yue, who with great hardship and her own strength, carved out a Divine Tao and led Her tribe out of that tiny "Realm".
Because she was not born into a powerful clan from beyond the heavens, because she lacked deep foundations, She worked tirelessly to break through Her own limits.
However, She could only linger among the ranks of middle-level Gods.
Without a destiny that shook the heavens coming her way, without any miracles occurring, even after a hundred, a thousand years, She could not hope to advance further.
If She did not continue to advance Her Godhood, those believers who worshiped Her, the tribe She was born into, would also stagnate just like Her.
"Without breaking, nothing can be established; without gambling, nothing can be gained, and there would never be a chance."
"I came to this desolate Star River in search of an opportunity, hoping to find new hope."
"He, a newly-born god of the Human Race, dared to step fearlessly into that star where a Star Devourer lurked; why should I be so timid and cautious?"
"Whether it’s His True Body or a Divine Body, he has risked everything he possesses. If he falls, he dies in the Dark Prison, with no chance of rebirth."
"And I, at worst, would lose but a rich strand of Divine Consciousness, a Divine Artifact at most."
"I..."
"It turns out that, after becoming a deity, I gradually lost that sharp spirit of progress. It turns out, it was I who became timid, acting cautiously in every situation, inadvertently shackling my own Godhood!"
"I had trapped myself in my own cage."
Ying Yue came to a realization.
On her journey to that gray-yellow star, she had a stroke of inspired understanding about many things.
She no longer hesitated; the might of the Exotic Spirit Star Devourer no longer pressured her heart.
...
In the Dark Prison, beneath the dome of the sky.
Pang Jian, in the form of his Immortal Primordial Spirit, stood on the cracked surface of the earth like the first Divine Mountain of this star.
"Visiting again, yet you refuse to come out and meet me?"
Grasping the Origin Demon Sword, with a scintillating Star River floating behind him, and six great Demon Realm Cave Heavens existing by his sides, he looked down into a fissure leading to the core of the star.
He could feel that the true form of the Star Devourer, like an immense net, was still slowly "tightening" deeper into the star.
It seemed intent on using its special form to constrict the entire star into countless fragments, erasing all Alien Power within.
"We have no grudges or hatred, yet you severed a limb of mine; why must you focus on me so persistently?"
The divine voice of the Star Devourer, speaking in the language of the Purgatory Human Tribe, emanated from every crevice.
Pang Jian’s language, He could understand a few sentences and quickly grasp it.
"Whoosh!"
A segment of His limb, like a flexible vine, suddenly shot out from the earth.
At the tip of the limb, many exotic divine lights converged, forming a phantom human face.
The face had harsh, rigid lines and looked like an ordinary Dark Spirit clan member; there was nothing particularly noteworthy about it.
Clearly, He had simply conjured an image of a soul without real effort to craft it in detail.
This was done merely to facilitate conversation with Pang Jian.
"The common people of this realm also have no grudges or hatred with you; don’t you also kill at will?" Pang Jian questioned.
"Like you and I, existing at the pinnacle of life, would you care about the lives of ants?" the Star Devourer scoffed coldly, exhibiting the demeanor of a true Dark Spirit clansperson, "Also, how do you know I have no grievances with them? When I first awoke in the Dark Prison, when I hadn’t yet gathered much strength, do you know what I endured?"
"I was hunted by them for many years; I had to hide everywhere and was so severely injured that on several occasions I nearly died."
"Their ancestors, those so-called brave heroes, were desperate to refine me into a supreme treasure."
"I fought for my life, struggled to grow stronger, and became the mightiest in this realm. Why shouldn’t I vent my dissatisfaction?"
"Even if I were to exterminate all beings in this realm, what wrong would I have committed?"
After countering with His arguments, the Star Devourer continued, "You come to talk to me about righteousness?"
"The memories branded into my soul tell me that Exotic Spirits like me are hunted by the gods beyond the stars."
"Even in the Prison of Heaven and Earth within the Mysterious Fog, beings like you would dig us out to be reforged into tools."
"We too are sentient lives, merely incorporeal and different in form from you; do we not deserve to live?"
The Star Devourer fiercely denounced the beings under heaven with a passionate and rhythmic tirade.
"Whoosh! Whoosh whoosh!"
New limbs, like Sky Snake Giant Dragons, leaped out of the crevices, instantly entwining the "Extreme Cold Ghost Mountain" beneath Han Yi’s feet.
"Boom!"
The wholly crystalline ice mountain was viciously flung by His limbs onto the ground, smashing a massive crater into the star.
"I warned both of you many times to stay away from me; you just wouldn’t listen!" the Star Devourer said in a cold voice.
