Chapter 568: Chapter 538 Exotic Spirit Star Devourer_1

Fan Di thought, after Pang Jian entered the Dark Prison, he would have trouble encountering Pang Jian again and assumed Pang Jian would not return.

As a god spirit like him, if one has the capability to enter other realms, isn’t one supposed to plunder and collect the rarities of a world?

Since Pang Jian could enter, naturally, he could also leave.

He could completely seize the items he fancied before the powerhouses of that realm reacted and then leave in due time.

If there wasn’t a being stronger than him in a realm, he could lord over the land and cultivate the wisdom race within, making them see him as a god spirit.

When the god spirits from the Outer Star River enter a realm with "World" in its name, they often do just that.

Such events also frequently occurred in the Ancient Demon World.

Fan Di had only heard the legends of the human race’s gods and hadn’t been in contact before. His understanding of the human race’s gods was limited.

He just assumed Pang Jian went about things the same way as the other race’s god spirits.

Pang Jian’s return caught him by surprise and made him even more cautious about acting rashly.

Knowing what kind of situation he was in, knowing what he yearned for, Pang Jian still dared to come back to see him again—wasn’t that indicative of having no fear of him?

"In a realm called Dark Prison, there live members of the Dark Spirit Clan. In the Dark Prison, there’s a powerful being named the Star Devourer, who not long ago pulled a star, bringing it directly into the Dark Prison."

Pang Jian shared his discovery.

"Dark Prison, Dark Spirit Clan? That clan... has been quiet for a long time." Fan Di, as a Demon God of the outer realm’s Ancient Demon Clan, thought for a moment and said, "I remember long ago, there was a god spirit who called himself the God of Shadow and originated from the Dark Prison amidst the Mysterious Fog."

"But this god spirit perished not long after he stepped out of the Dark Prison. After him, there were no new god spirits from the Dark Prison active in the outer domains."

"As for the Star Devourer you mentioned, being able to pull a star and devour it in the Dark Prison, I feel that the Star Devourer is very likely an Exotic Spirit."

When he mentioned "Exotic Spirit," Fan Di got a bit excited.

"What is an Exotic Spirit?" Pang Jian humbly asked.

"Unconventional beings with souls but a lack of flesh and blood are collectively referred to as Exotic Spirits. Like you and me, and those strong ones from other races, god spirits, each of us has a flesh and blood body." Fan Di said somewhat embarrassingly, looking down at his own golden skeletal body, "I just had my flesh eroded by the Mysterious Fog; originally, I did have it."

Pang Jian nodded, signaling him to continue.

"Exotic Spirits are different."

"They may be trees that have awakened to wisdom, mountains and stones, a body of sea, or other peculiarly shaped metal objects. Exotic Spirits can also advance and strengthen themselves, possessing heartmoving powers. However, in the eyes of outer domain god spirits, the vast majority of Exotic Spirits are mere materials used for crafting Divine Artifacts."

"The Star Devourer you mentioned should be one of the Exotic Spirits."

"I vaguely remember that this kind of Exotic Spirit initially feeds on mountains and rivers, mid-stage refines Fragment Lands, and only later possesses the ability to devour stars and absorb the nutrients within the stars."

"If it calls itself the Star Devourer and can pull stars into the Dark Prison, it must be a very terrifying Exotic Spirit."

Fan Di looked at his condition again and lamented, "With my current state, facing an Exotic Spirit that dares to scheme against stars, I wouldn’t stand a chance."

Pang Jian remained silent.

He thought of Pang Ling, known as the World Tree. The Corrosion Boundary Vine was initially a Sapling that assimilated Thousand Miles of Cloud Land, then Sky Fortune Fragment Land, and then Sky Rampart Fragment Land.

Now, it had merged even more Fragment Lands.

But it wasn’t through refinement and devouring; instead, it transformed each piece of Fragment Land into realms of its own.

Non-fleshly beings, wise trees, weren’t these the Exotic Spirits Fan Di spoke of?

"Have you heard of the World Tree?" Pang Jian asked then.

"Of course! The reputation of the World Tree is just too significant."

Fan Di immediately replied, "That’s one of the highest levels of Exotic Spirits!"

"The Star Devourer you spoke of can only pull a star to slowly devour it. Rumor has it, the mightiest World Trees can dominate a Star River, and their branches can penetrate stars!"

"In our Ancient Demon Clan’s records, there was such a World Tree, which took the combined strength of many gods to be cut down."

"That World Tree, drifting deep within the Star River, seemed to have devoured several Star Domains to exhaustion, causing many stars to lose their luster."

"After it was chopped and burned to ashes, there were no new World Trees rampant in the outer dimensions. The Star Devourer from the Dark Prison and the World Tree are not on the same level."

Fan Di’s towering golden skeletal body continued gesturing in the Mysterious Fog.

His joints, the bone wings on his back, and his claws stretched outward, connecting to form a series of thunderballs.

The dozens of blazing thunderballs that suddenly appeared on his bones were the stars he had replicated.

Pang Jian suddenly had a vision in his mind.

A tree so massive that it defied the limits of his imagination, rooted in a Star River, its branches extending infinitely outward, piercing through one star after another.

How magnificent? How terrifying?

Was Pang Ling’s origin truly so remarkable?

If it grew to its fullest, staying in the Purgatory World, would its branches eventually penetrate all Fragment Lands and continents?

If such a day came, would not the vast Purgatory, with all its levels of realms, become its source of nutrients for growth at will?

Who could contend with such a being?

Thinking of this, Pang Jian, the creator of Pang Ling, felt unease.

He silently resolved that if possible, he must take Pang Ling out of Purgatory, to prevent it from destroying the Purgatory World.
