Chapter 519: Chapter 494 Reunion of Siblings_1
"Brother."
The girl’s smile blossomed like a flower, yet her beautiful eyes began to glisten with tears.
On her face hung a sincere smile, while her eyes brimmed with tears, the contrasting expressions of crying and laughing existing in perfect harmony upon her visage.
She stood behind Dong Tianze, who was meditating on the ground.
She, along with the flowers vying for beauty, the streams in the mountain gullies, and the spiritual birds that occasionally flitted past, blended perfectly into one entity.
It seemed as though, wherever she lingered, she was the sovereign god spirit of that place.
"Brother, I’ve missed you so much."
She smiled radiantly, her teeth as white as ivory.
Without wiping the crystal-clear tears falling from the corners of her eyes, her gaze pierced through the barriers of two worlds, focusing intently on Pang Jian, she softly said, "Ever since I learned of your identity, I’ve always wanted to come see you. But the True God of Pure Land wouldn’t allow it. She told me to endure, to wait a little longer."
"She said the time was not right, she said... the Old Thunder Dragon from Dragon Cave might plan to harm me; she’s always had my best interests at heart."
"But brother, I truly wanted to see you."
"Not just through this Ghost Altar, but to actually stand by your side, just like I’ve imagined countless times."
After entering Pure Land, she cultivated with relentless determination, sparing no effort to temper her body and refine her realm.
With the resources of Pure Land and the inheritance left by the Heavenly Phoenix, she ascended to the Extinction Realm at a pace beyond that of normal humans, even unimaginable to many.
Behind her desperate efforts was one reason—she wanted to quickly go to Northern Qi to bring her brother back.
When she met the first realm requirements of Pure Land, she heard a nightmare-like piece of news—the entire Panshi Fragment Land in Northern Qi was shrouded in the Mysterious Fog.
Because of this, she grieved for a long time.
Then, the Filth Alien Power suddenly surged, submerging the entire Fourth Realm.
The cultivators of Pure Land, Sun Bin, and that White Crane all told her that her brother probably couldn’t step out of Northern Qi anymore and that she should prepare herself mentally.
But she refused to believe it and didn’t want to!
In her heart, her brother was the most capable and outstanding person between heaven and earth!
The encirclement of the Mysterious Fog, the spread of the Filth Alien Power, the invasion of the Lower Realm by Alien Tribes.
All of these factors, unfavorable to her brother’s survival, occurred, yet she still firmly believed that her brother would certainly be safe!
There was no reason or justification, just a blind adoration and trust.
Indeed, she had idolized her brother since childhood, it was an obsession fueled by extreme fervor.
It was this frenzied obsession that sustained her, never letting her cease the pursuit for greater strength.
It compelled her to wait tenaciously until now!
And it allowed her to witness this day!
This day! Through this Ghost Altar belonging to the Heavenly Phoenix Guard, Dong Tianze, she, from her allocated territory in the Secluded Valley of Pure Land, was able to see the person she had dreamt of meeting!
"Brother, I wanted to come find you!"
She clenched her fists gently.
"Crackle!"
Her small fists were wrapped with dazzling bolts of thunder and lightning.
The power she inadvertently unleashed in a moment of emotional turmoil left Dong Tianze, who was in meditative repose, charred instantly.
Dong Tianze’s face was grim, his visage as black as charcoal, his hair like a scorched chicken nest.
But he said nothing.
Although Pang Jian wasn’t looking at him, he kept his gaze fixed on her, his thoughts churning like a tide.
"You stay in Pure Land and don’t leave anytime soon, I will find time to come for you!"
Licking his parched lips, Pang Jian managed to pull his lips into a smile and reassured her once again.
He said gently in a way Dong Tianze had never seen before, "That Old Thunder Dragon from Dragon Cave is still unaccounted for, you should try not to leave."
After the brief surge of emotions, Pang Jian quickly regained his composure, also restraining his impulse to meet with her.
"Pang Lin, I promise you, I will come to see you soon. Listen to me, don’t leave Pure Land for the time being. You must wait until the Old Thunder Dragon returns to the Saint Spirit Continent and Pure Land gives permission."
"I know you have many questions, and so do I."
"Just wait for me in Pure Land, I will take care of things on my end, be good."
"..."
Pang Jian comforted and persuaded her with great patience.
With the world in turmoil, the warriors of the Alien Tribes rooted in the Third Realm and the disciples of the Demon Sect who had defected from the Human Race, it was unknown when they might suddenly surge into the Second Realm.
Panshi Fragment Land was situated in the Second Realm, making it an unsafe place.
He too missed this close relative he hadn’t seen for many years, yet he didn’t want his sister to put herself in danger just for a reunion with him.
Only the Pure Land of the First Realm could ensure Pang Lin’s safety.
Then, the siblings took some time to share their experiences through the Ghost Altar, talking for quite a long time.
After kindly persuading Pang Lin to leave the Ghost Altar, Pang Jian turned his attention back to Dong Tianze and cleared his throat before asking, "Why didn’t you leave a message when you left Panshi Fragment Land?"
Dong Tianze’s face darkened as he glared at him from the Ghost Altar, and said fiercely, "Did you know all along that I would ultimately be loyal to your sister?"
Pang Jian nodded.
"So, the reason you repeatedly helped me of your own accord, the reason you kept offering olive branches, was to create a Heavenly Phoenix Guard you could trust, one that you felt was worth the continuous investment, for your sister?" Dong Tianze asked accusingly.
The ferocity in his eyes grew, his heart was filled with indignation, he was incredibly frustrated.
"That was the case at the beginning."
Pang Jian lowered his head.
Feeling guilty, he didn’t dare to look into Dong Tianze’s eyes at this moment, but he still decided to tell the truth, "It was only after the trial in Cloud Thunder Forbidden Zone had ended that I learned Pang Lin was the owner of White Crane. I also knew that if you hadn’t died along the way, you would inevitably stand behind her one day."
"I know there are many Divine Guards, but I only trust you, and I firmly believe you are the strongest among them."
"So, I kept investing in you, and as I got to know you better and better, I came to understand what kind of person you, Dong Tianze, are."
"Later, I hoped that if one day I, Pang Jian, died, you, Dong Tianze, would be able to stand behind Pang Lin just like I had."
"Not as a Divine Guard, but as another brother."
Only then did Pang Jian finally raise his head.
"Huh!"
Dong Tianze’s figure suddenly disappeared.
...
Elsewhere.
The lean and tall Dong Tianze plunged into the cold stream.
He seemed to want to use the icy water to cleanse his cluttered heart, to clearly find an answer.
With his eyes open, he sat at the bottom of the crystal-clear river.
His eyes occasionally flashed a fierce light, and his face sometimes showed struggle, doubt, confusion, and pain. He felt that his genuine heart had been exploited by Pang Jian.
"Could it be that I am just a bloodthirsty Divine Guard meant to protect his sister?"
Dong Tianze sneered at the river bottom with pursed lips.
"Tianze brother."
Pang Lin bit her lower lip and spoke softly from the shore, "In my eyes, you’re not my Divine Guard, but another brother of mine. My brother, too, wants you to become another brother of mine."
"It’s really not what you think, he isn’t using you, and my brother isn’t that kind of person. Because you two started as enemies, your initial understanding and relationship... naturally had some issues."
"Tianze brother, I believe if you were in danger, if you faced a deadly situation, he would also do everything in his power to save you."
"Really."
Pang Lin patiently explained.
After a long while, Dong Tianze suddenly flew out of the river, his heart in disarray: "Pang Lin, I need to go out and find the answer."
...
Demon Abyss Continent.
In the Demon Sect headquarters, abandoned by core members, the four True Gods led by Li Wang, along with Pu Zhaotian and the new Valley Master Wu Yan from Black Valley, descended into the grand hall.
"Pu Pangzi, are you saying that a world-shaking demon beast intended to devour you during your ascension to True Godhood?"
Li Wang wandered beside huge black pillars, looking at murals of chaos wrought by Outer Realm Demons across the Continent, organizing the grand schemes of the Demon Sect.
"Are you certain it was the pinnacle of malice that emerged from the Demon Abyss Continent?"
Li Wang stopped and asked again.
Pu Zhaotian said gravely, "Mhm, inside that purple Demon Stone, there was an extremely potent and evil force. Only because I decisively abandoned my attempt to reach Godhood, did its primed possession fail, and it suffered heavy damage as a result."
Li Wang frowned, "Has it always been inside that Demon Stone?"
Pu Zhaotian snorted coldly, "How would I know? You were waging war, while I was protecting my disciple Pang Jian, fearing he would inadvertently fall into demonhood; I had no time to care for anything else."
For his disciple Pang Jian, he told a grand lie, not revealing the truth that the Demon Fetus had been taken away inside the Origin Demon Sword.
"Why wasn’t Pang Jian possessed by a Demon God after being infused by so much Demon Element Power, why didn’t he fall to the Demon Tao?" Li Wang asked again, doubting in his heart.
"Because of the Chaos Sea, because he is what you call a Realm God!" Pu Zhaotian declared.
Without waiting for Li Wang to ask, Pu Zhaotian continued, "Li Wang, esteemed seniors, I am the youngest here and still don’t know what Realm God means. Could you enlighten me?"
"You all now know that Pang Jian is the Realm God of this generation, and as for me, Pu Zhaotian, he’s my disciple."
"If you don’t explain clearly to me the significance of a Realm God, how will I interact with my disciple in future? And chances are, you’ll need to rely on the Realm God at some point, right?"
Pu Zhaotian spoke with ease as he had long seen, these True Gods would inevitably seek out Pang Jian one day.
Li Wang pondered for a long time, then said seriously, "A Realm God is one who can enter and exit the Purgatory World."
Pu Zhaotian was astonished.
...
Saint Spirit Continent.
In a world dominated by a Level Nine Rock Bear, a dazzling beam of light shot straight into the sky, beginning to gather the fate energy of this world.
"Roar!"
The earth-shattering roar of the Rock Bear resounded.
With each roar, the Saint Spirit Continent trembled violently, with many fragile mountains collapsing and new landscapes rising from the ground.
"The Rock Bear is ascending to Demonhood!"
"The Demon Race has finally produced a new Demon God!"
"There is hope for the revival of our Demon Race!"
Countless Level Nine Demon Kings and many ferocious Great Demons watched the dazzling beam of light and cheered.
The Rock Bear’s breakthrough was of great significance to the Demon Race, suggesting that following strong Demon Kings could also claim a seat of Demonhood just like the Rock Bear.
And this naturally exhilarated all of the Demon Race.
