Chapter 416: Chapter 395 Demon Spirit Continent_1

The edge of this land remained far from the Mysterious Turtle.

This distance exceeded the limits of many people’s perception and vision, yet Liou Youyu managed to reveal the Mysterious Turtle with the help of a Divine Artifact.

"Mysterious Turtle!"

The crowd gathered around and exclaimed in amazement.

Looking at the giant turtle that appeared in the Mysterious Heavenly Divine Mirror, its body seemingly filling the entire mirror, it was not hard for everyone to imagine just how enormous the real Mysterious Turtle must be.

The level and status of the Mysterious Turtle equaled that of the fallen Heaven Phoenix, the Old Thunder Dragon in the Dragon Cave, and the Primordial Serpent of whose life and death were uncertain.

Legend had it that this Mysterious Turtle possessed an incredibly long lifespan, born in an era even more ancient than the present.

Before the Human Race had risen in the Purgatory World, when they were still offered as tribute by Alien Tribes to Alien Gods in the Outer Realm, He had already existed.

In the current era, the combined ages of all True Gods might still fall short of His.

Following Him, the Heaven Phoenix, Thunder Dragon, Primordial Serpent, and those successive tenth level Spirit Beasts that emerged, were all His juniors.

Passed down through generations, He was said to carry a fragment of magical land, drifting across the various worlds of Purgatory.

Many extraordinary figures had tried to find that Fragment Land, hoping to establish Sect Holy Lands upon it.

Yet He, along with the Fragment Land He carried, had been missing for a very, very long time.

"Let’s get closer and take a look,"

Pang Jian said softly.

The Flying Fish Ship drifted away once more, shuttling through the thick Mysterious Fog.

Hu followed with her sword.

"The land is also moving outward bit by bit; it’s just that the speed is so slow, it’s hard to detect," said Fan Chen of Taiyi Divine Kingdom, looking down at the land beneath his feet: "You’d better stay where you are and not hurry to approach."

He, however, summoned a cloud of multicolored mist and moved toward where the Boundary Wall lay.

...

The Flying Fish Ship roared.

The Mysterious Turtle, hidden deep within the Mysterious Fog and clinging to a part of the Boundary Wall, finally appeared in Pang Jian’s real field of vision.

The huge turquoise pupils, black and yellow carapace, olive-green forehead, and jet-black limbs.

The Mysterious Turtle from the Panshi Fragment Land looked almost exactly the same, just much smaller in size.

As the distance closed, Pang Jian was certain that this tenth-level Mysterious Turtle, on par with a True God, was the largest creature he had ever seen in his life.

The Frost Giant Dragon at the edge of the land, the creatures he had seen in the Mysterious Fog that resembled lions and tigers, also tenth level, but nowhere near as massive as the Mysterious Turtle.

The Flying Spirit Artifacts from various worlds of Purgatory, the gigantic ships of the three major Divine Countries, seemed no more than willow leaf mud balls in comparison to it.

In the Fifth Realm, when the Cyclops stood up, it resembled a towering mountain.

But the Mysterious Turtle in front was as large as a landmass, its shell spanning hundreds of miles.

"Hoo! Hoo-hoo!"

With visibility to the naked eye, the mist streamed from behind the Flying Fish Ship, drifting toward the Mysterious Turtle and the Boundary Wall behind it.

The Mysterious Turtle’s open, large turquoise eyes emitted a faint cold luster, like two huge moons in the mist.

"Hoo!"

The Flying Fish Ship suddenly shook violently.

A tumultuous tide of mixed emotions surged like the sea, disrupting the navigation path of the Flying Fish Ship and even forcing Hu, who was controlling her sword, to slow down.

With a frown, Hu whispered, "The Mysterious Turtle’s thoughts turn into an ocean. Under the push of its mental power, we are no longer in control."

"Thoughts and ideas, transformed into an ocean? This ocean, as if it truly exists?"

Pang Jian was secretly astonished.

He quickly composed himself, focusing to perceive this unseen ocean of thoughts, to discover its hidden mysteries.

He felt the Mysterious Turtle’s immensely vast obsession!

Its obsession filled the ocean of thoughts and had existed for tens of thousands of years!

The Mysterious Turtle aimed to move this land, known as the Demon Spirit Continent, from the realm enveloped by Mysterious Fog into the real Purgatory, to provide another paradise for the Demon Race.

Just like the Saint Spirit Continent, He hoped that this sealed Demon Spirit Continent would also be filled with Spirit Beasts and Ferocious Beasts.

For this, He had struggled for many years.

For this, He was willing to sacrifice everything.

This obsession was omnipresent, fermenting and surging in the sea of thoughts, forming a grand force.

It propelled the Demon Spirit Continent outward and also pulled the Mysterious Fog back to the Boundary Wall.

And the Mysterious Turtle...

Pang Jian looked into the distance, sensing that the part of His body close to the Boundary Wall seemed to suffer from the erosion of both the Boundary Wall and the Mysterious Fog.

He had clearly paid a very painful price for this.

"The Human Race broke their word back then; they did not divide the Continent among the Spirit Beasts as agreed, and while He always said He would find His own, He truly did go to do so, and is about to succeed," sighed Fan Chen, who followed behind.

Pang Jian and the others immediately turned their heads to look.

From within the cloud, Fan Chen did not conceal anything. He openly shared a piece of history that had been deliberately buried by the major powers: "After our Human Race found our cultivation system, our strength grew increasingly powerful. But when our ancestors finally decided to rise up and resist, they first reached an agreement with the Demon Race of that era."

"According to the agreement, the Human Race and Demon Race were to share the world. The lands, Fragment Lands, and all resources of every world in Purgatory should have been equally divided between the Demon Race."

"After that war, both the Human Race and the Demon Race achieved the final victory, but both suffered heavy losses."

Fan Chen paused for a moment and said, "Our Human Race’s cultivation system allowed our strong to regenerate much faster than the long-lived Demon Race. After the war, the Demon Race needed a long time to accumulate strength and warriors again, while in the Human Race, the realms of Extinction and Immortality began to see a surge of True Gods."

"The original agreement naturally could not be established and turned into a situation where the powerful sects and individuals of the Human Race occupied most of the land and Fragment Lands."

"Moving forward..."

Fan Chen coughed and said, "In the subsequent era, the Alien Tribes that had fallen to the Fifth Realm, with the emergence of the Filth Alien Power, launched counterattacks time and time again. The Human Race and Demon Race, regardless of the existence of estrangement, could only join forces to suppress them."

"And the Heaven Phoenix, which had promised a myriad of years ago to create seven Heavenly Tribulation Pillars with our Human True Gods to suppress the most powerful forces of the Fifth Realm once and for all, reached an agreement with the True Gods."

"The First Realm would have one piece of land belonging to the Demon Race, and the Second Realm would have two continents."

"In the end, it seems that we have gone back on our word again, with only the Saint Spirit Continent being ceded."

"Therefore, the Heaven Phoenix and Human True Gods also turned against each other, parting on bad terms."

"The Mysterious Turtle, always steady, simply said He would use His own power to find land for the Demon Race. The True Gods of that time also agreed that any land and Fragment Lands He retrieved would belong to the Demon Race."

"Unexpectedly, during the years of His disappearance, He was indeed delving into the Mysterious Fog to seek out the lands and Fragment Lands that had been forgotten."

Fan Chen, well-versed in history, made a reverent salute to the distant Mysterious Turtle as he spoke these words.

His heart was filled with guilt.

On the Sword Boat, Pang Jian’s face was slightly somber, and he was faintly annoyed.

He felt that the fall of the Heaven Phoenix was related to the two breaches of promises by the True Gods, and the Mysterious Turtle’s grievous sacrifice to push this continent away was also an act of desperation.

"The True Gods who broke their promises must come from the Divine Country of Eastland, as well as the sects of South Abyss and North Ruins, and even West Soil. But, they definitely do not include our Sword Tower!"

Hu, standing upright, said confidently.

She did not understand that part of the bygone history, nor had anyone told her about it.

But she was confident that the generation after generation of Sword Gods from the Sword Tower could not have done such things!

The Sword Tower, with each era’s Sword God being forthright, disliked playing with such schemes and political plots.

They were known to the world for their formidable combat power.

She did not understand the history spoken by Fan Chen, but she was familiar with the Sword Gods of the previous eras, firmly believing that the senior Sword Gods of the Sword Tower would not commit such deeds of burning bridges after crossing them.

"Uh..."

Fan Chen felt increasingly ashamed and said with his head lowered, "That is why, when disciples of the Sword Tower are found around or within the Saint Spirit Continent, they are not attacked by Spirit Beasts."

Hu, unaware of the details, spoke accurately.

Because the Sword Tower had once supported the distribution of land as agreed, all the powerful Spirit Beast clans that now dominate the Saint Spirit Continent regard the disciples of the Sword Tower with favor.

Of the many powers and sects, those who come from the Sword Tower are the least loathed by the higher Spirit Beasts.

"I cannot get close to Him."

Inside the Flying Fish Ship, Liou Youyu suddenly said despondently, "This sea of lingering thoughts birthed from His will obstructs my Spiritual Soul."

"Yes, my Spiritual Soul feels discomfort, too," Hu concurred.

Fan Chen likewise had already stopped.

Pang Jian, on the other hand, didn’t feel any discomfort in his Spiritual Soul; he stepped out of the Flying Fish Ship, attempting to roam through it with his own power.

This peculiar sea of thoughts, far removed from that complete land and very close to the Boundary Wall, had no gravity, and he was able to move forward swiftly as he operated his Spiritual Power.

Within his Sea of Consciousness, his golden Spiritual Soul was also unaffected by this sea of thoughts.

"My little junior brother’s Spiritual Soul, it seems, is not much different from Ling Yimo’s and is also different from ordinary people," Hu was a bit surprised and said, "When I move forward bodily, my Spiritual Soul drifts with this sea of thoughts, feeling as if it could be shaken out."

"Me too," Fan Chen quietly retreated.

"Whoosh!"

His Spiritual Soul, which had drifted out of his forehead, violently shrank back into the Sea of Consciousness.

That’s why, as he watched Pang Jian moving boldly forward, he suddenly looked up to him more and said, "This direct disciple picked by Pu is truly extraordinary."

Hu proudly said, "Of course!"

"Liu Xiaoyu, use your Mysterious Heavenly Divine Mirror to illuminate my little junior brother! I know that as long as he appears within the mirror’s world, you can protect him with the Divine Mirror!"

"The dangers ahead are unpredictable, and since he’s venturing deep to investigate, it’s our duty to help him out!"

"Oh."

The Mysterious Heavenly Divine Mirror floated in the air, and Liou Youyu planned to protect Pang Jian with this Divine Artifact for a while longer.

"Whoosh!"

The oddly quiet sea of thoughts suddenly stirred up waves.

The three who had ventured deep into it had their Spiritual Souls wobbling, their flesh bodies driven by their Spiritual Souls, suddenly returning to their previous location.

Within the Mysterious Heavenly Divine Mirror, everything was murky and blurred, and nothing could be illuminated anymore.

An hour later.

Pang Jian stopped in the air in front of the Mysterious Turtle’s forehead, looking down from above at the body of the Mysterious Turtle, noticing that although the back half of the Mysterious Turtle’s towering body was still intact, it was already devoid of the vitality of flesh and blood.

The Mysterious Turtle’s olive-green head also did not give off any ripples of the soul.

Some of His remaining physical strength was being pushed by His strong pre-death obsession to complete His unfinished business.

——To bring the Demon Spirit Continent into existence in the Purgatory World.

But He had in fact passed away long ago.
