The Purgatory Calamity
Chapter 356 - 335 Fire God Yan Lie_1

Chapter 356: Chapter 335 Fire God Yan Lie_1

Ice-thunder Fragment Land.

The nine glaciers that had shrunk dramatically due to the great war were now rising inch by inch in the original Forbidden Land of the Thunder God, tempered and sculpted by the Extreme Cold Alien Power.

At the summit of one of the ice mountains.

"Second Elder, I’ve tallied it up, there are currently nine members of our tribe whose Bloodline has reached level seven."

"Thirty-six have reached level six Bloodlines."

"Two hundred and seven have reached level five."

"Six of our warships capable of soaring through the void have been repaired, sufficient to carry all of our tribespeople away from this Fragment Land enshrouded in Mysterious Fog."

The short, plump Elder of the Ice River outlined the situation of the tribe.

All six Ice Tribe Elders were present at this summit, and they occasionally glanced at the nearby peak, watching Pang Jian, who sat unmoved amidst the ice and snow.

"If he doesn’t wake up, if he doesn’t take a clear stance, are we just going to wait indefinitely?"

Ice Mirror, the Fourth Elder, was a tall and thin elder of the Ice Tribe with elongated eyes. He was one of the more radical among the Elders and had been a staunch supporter of the Great Elder, Ice Blue.

Now, with furrowed brows, he suddenly said, "Pang Jian is not one of our kin."

The other five looked coldly toward him.

"I’ve been secretly listening to the conversations of those from the Purgatory Human Tribe," Ice Mirror said, his gaze looking down haughtily at the shattered city and the suddenly risen pits. "Purgatory seems to be a forbidden place for God Spirits. The Human Race we know from our historical records is not the master of the Purgatory World."

"Like us, all tribes that seek to evolve and strengthen their Bloodline are oppressed by the Human Race into a land of Darkness without light."

"All tribes like us in Purgatory are considered Different Kinds, and they are treated differently by the Human Race."

After a pause, Ice Mirror looked down and said, "Even if we migrate from the Ice-thunder Fragment Land, we better not go to Purgatory, because we will definitely not be welcomed there."

"And... "

He spoke in an even lower voice, "The words spoken by that Alien God with spine spikes, whom Pang Jian talked with, we all heard them. The True Gods of the Human Race are in a state of exile across the endless Star River, hunted by external gods."

"Honestly, we shouldn’t get too entangled with the Human Race, lest we become a public enemy."

Having heard Ice Mirror express his inner thoughts, all five Ice Tribe Elders fell silent.

No one rebuked him, and no one blamed him for his bold words.

Because they too had been pondering the same question recently and were also feeling lost about the future.

"I really wish he was a member of our Ice Tribe."

After a while, the Sixth Elder, Ice River, expressed his regret.

"Perhaps, we are destined to part ways," sighed Ice Surplus, the Fifth Elder, helplessly. "He will return to Purgatory, and Purgatory is not our homeland."

"But he possesses the Heart of Winter," Ice Mirror whispered.

"Have you forgotten how Ice Blue died?" Ice Plain said fiercely. "Without the Sovereign, the Heart of Winter would have been taken. After the Lei Meng Beast God descended, It would first take over the Forbidden Land of the Thunder God, and then The Frozen Land. We will be sold to the Goddess of Cold Crystal along with the Heart of Winter!"

"We should have been annihilated by now!"

"And!"

Ice Plain took a deep breath and gazed towards the location of the Flame Fragment Land from the summit, "Have you forgotten there’s another Fragment Land right beside us?"

"We haven’t forgotten, which is why we want to leave as soon as possible!" Ice Mirror said in a low shout.

"Wait! Just keep waiting!" Ice Plain said irritably.

...

At the pit.

"This isn’t a solution either."

Jiang Chao’s face was grave as he said, "We can’t stay in this Fragment Land forever. Lu Jie, should we consider using a hefty sum to purchase a flying warship from the Ice Tribe?"

"Not ride the Sword Boat and leave with them?" Fang Boxuan’s face changed slightly, "Even if we had a flying warship, could you find the way back?

"What if we get lost again?"

"Or, what if we accidentally enter a realm active with Alien Tribes? Wouldn’t that be asking for death?"

Even though they had been abandoned by that little group, he still believed that only with Pang Jian in the Mysterious Fog was there hope of finding a correct path back to Purgatory.

He doubted anyone else had that capability.

"Regardless of what you all think, I have decided to stay here. I will only leave with Pang Jian," Chen Lushi stated coldly.

"Bitch..." Jiang Chao muttered under his breath, just about to throw a few insults.

"Whoosh!"

An awesome godly figure ablaze with intense flames rose slowly from the Flame Fragment Land, shocking everyone in the Ice-thunder Fragment Land.

That godly form was so massive, so dazzling, that even the cold mist could not obscure Its august majesty.

"It’s that fallen Fire God!"

"Does He look dead to you?"

Their fright reached a new extreme.

"I said we should leave this cursed place sooner! You all insisted on hesitating, insisted on waiting for Pang Jian to wake up!" the Fourth Elder, Ice Mirror, roared from the peak.

That deity, towering high with a body covered in dark red Scale Armor and eyes like pools of magma, stood silently in the Flame Fragment Land.

He gazed into the distance.

"Huff! Huff huff!"

All the volcanoes in the Flame Fragment Land below Him spewed magma and fierce flames towards Him, which were wholly absorbed by His godly body.

An aura of terror that could annihilate worlds and extinguish all life spread out with the rolling heat waves.

Puppet-like beings, entrusted by Alien Gods of the Outer Realm, fluttered around His massive godly form like an ant colony, and warships worshiping the Alien Gods, compared to His lofty and vast body, were like slightly larger Mosquitoes Flies.

"Crack!"

Pang Jian’s rock-ice beneath him shattered, waking him from his long meditation.

He also looked towards the Flame Fragment Land in astonishment, towards that divine body which had previously fallen to the ground, bathing in the magma and fiery waters.

Across millions of miles of emptiness, the aura emanating from this god spirit made his scalp tingle and his skin and hair felt as if they were about to ignite.

The Flame Pool, nestled within his Spiritual Sea, which had yet to be completely filled with Power of Earth Flame, was boiling spontaneously.

A small part of the fiery water in the Flame Pool gurgled.

Then, within a few seconds, the Flame Pool was brimming with dense Flame Force, rolling like boiling fiery water.

"Huff!"

Summoning the "Heart of Winter," Pang Jian stood atop this gigantic Ice Crystal heart, tearing through the thin mist of the Ice-thunder Fragment Land and also suspending in the external void.

One man, one god, gazing at each other across millions of miles of emptiness.

Directly feeling the vast divine might of that god spirit, Pang Jian knew without having to gauge that even with the "Heart of Winter" and the power to refine the Extreme Cold Alien Power from the land below, he was no match for that god spirit.

Whether he admitted it or not, he clearly understood that he and the other were not on the same level of existence.

"This is a god spirit’s body!"

Pang Jian felt his blood rush, experiencing real despair for the first time.

He knew that no matter how hard he tried, no matter what methods he employed, facing such a god spirit that should not have appeared here, his fate was sealed.

"Mysterious Fog!"

"Bee Insect, teleportation!"

This was the only path to survival he could think of.

"Sorry..."

He sighed in his heart.

Facing the god spirit who surpassed him by several tiers, he knew he couldn’t protect Qi Qingsong, Zhou Qingchen, and the others. He felt as if the two Fragment Lands below would burn with the god spirit’s prolonged gaze.

Aside from potentially escaping by attempting teleportation, everyone else was doomed.

Even if he could teleport, even if he reached a Golden Bee Insect, he still didn’t know whether the god spirit would detect him and possibly exterminate him in the Mysterious Fog in an instant.

"Pang Jian, Lord!"

"Pang Jian!"

In the Ice-thunder Fragment Land, Qi Qingsong and others, members of the Ice Tribe, and the others were wailing and screaming in shock.

"This is a resurrected god spirit with its true divine body, I... can’t take care of you all."

Pang Jian’s voice, laced with helplessness, echoed from the ice glaciers towering over the land and emanated from the six ice pillars of the Ice Tribe’s Altar of Praying to God.

With that sound, the fate of everyone there was pronounced.

Members of the Ice Tribe who regretted not leaving earlier cried bitterly, and those like Jiang Chao and Fang Boxuan, who were indecisive, slumped to the ground in despair, while Qi Qingsong, Zhuang Yuyan, and the others were shocked and frightened.

"How can this be? The heavenly laws of the Mysterious Fog do not allow the true bodies of god spirits to exist, do they?"

"We, the Alien Tribes, the Spirit Beasts, and all who enter are restricted in rank and power!"

"How can a god spirit exist in this realm of void!"

Desperate murmurs of disbelief spread everywhere.

Elsewhere.

"Yan Lie, congratulations on your resurrection from death!"

"Yan Lie, you will be the first to enter Purgatory in complete form!"

"This is of epoch-making significance!"

"Go forth, Yan Lie, slay all the Purgatory Human Tribe, and overturn Purgatory for that one! Free those tribes who believe in us, and who share our origins, from the endlessly dark land!"

"Yan Lie, you carry a heavy responsibility!"

Led by figures such as Yang Luo and Youkui, the Alien Gods of the Outer Realm were excitedly fanning the flames beside that majestic divine body.

As if watching the Ice-thunder Fragment Land being engulfed by lava and flames, seeing Purgatory’s lands turn to scorched earth.

Suddenly!

The deep red Scale Armor covering Yan Lie’s heart, as if forcibly pried apart by someone, flipped down from Yan Lie’s chest.

From a distance, the Scale Armor seemed like a viewing platform within Yan Lie’s ribcage.

The Fire God, Yan Lie, whose eyes were like a sea of molten lava, suddenly displayed a look of reminiscence for the past and spoke softly while bowing, "I have seen the Sovereign."

"Sovereign, Lord."

"Lord!"

"You..."

A group of low and middle-level Alien Gods from the Outer Realm sensed something was amiss, and gazed respectfully.

Several gods, whose puppet bodies were like Mosquitoes Flies compared to the magnitude of Yan Lie, clumsily flew onto the shoulders of the divine body before hastily descending.

They lowered themselves beneath the viewing-platform-like Scale Armor.

They were well aware, being Middle-level Gods themselves, that even though their true bodies couldn’t be present, they were still equal to the resurrected Yan Lie.

That’s why they dared to fly up to Yan Lie’s shoulders and look towards the Ice-thunder Fragment Land from a higher vantage point.

But the Godhood of that one was a great deal higher than theirs, and for them to presume to be above that one would be an insult and a desecration.

They knew the temperament of that one and the consequences of disrespect, so they could only descend in rank.

By doing so, they expressed their humble deference to the Sovereign.
