Chapter 279: Chapter 264: Golden Divine Sense!_1
"Snap!"
The beautiful and bewitching human face that had striven to fly upward fell lifelessly.
By the time the silver-white spider web in Pang Jian’s Sea of Consciousness had been thoroughly devoured by the Golden Bee Insect...
This Alien God from the Outer Realm had also lost the nourishment for its soul.
"Crackle!"
Suddenly, numerous grey-white beams of light shot out from the god with a spider body and human face as its broken limbs and flesh hit the ground.
The Mysterious Turtle opened its mouth to inhale.
Beams imbued with Divine Power fell into the Mysterious Turtle’s mouth one after another, and with a satisfied burp that only Pang Jian could hear, it looked up at the sky contentedly.
The sea of clouds was vast; the other Alien God it was awaiting was also rapidly approaching.
An excited light shone in its green eyes.
It hadn’t held much expectation for Pang Jian initially.
Yet after Pang Jian arrived, he continued to take out powerful Spiritual Artifacts to injure the enemy, lured away the Divine Consciousness of the Alien God, and even... completely obliterated that Divine Consciousness.
Alien Gods without Divine Consciousness were just soulless husks, which the turtle found easy and pleasant to deal with.
Pang Jian’s strength gave it confidence, and it told Pang Jian to prepare for the appearance of a new Alien God.
And the Divine Consciousness of this Alien God would only be thicker and stronger!
"The power that Alien Gods attach to altars, stone statues, wood carvings, and other physical objects of flesh and blood is called Divine Power. Their Divine Power, similar to our Spiritual Power, includes powers like Extreme Cold Power, Power of the Sun, Power of Stars."
"Divine Consciousness, then, is the power from their souls, similar to our Divine Sense... right?"
"..."
Pang Jian and the Mysterious Turtle communicated in secret.
The Mysterious Turtle, whose strength had grown and awakened some of the bloodline imprints, actually understood the Alien Gods of the Outer Realm!
The ancestors who had bestowed these bloodline imprints on it clearly had experience in combating Alien Gods from the Outer Realm.
The older generation of Mysterious Turtles sealed these memories into imprints. As the newer generation of turtles advanced and broke through, they could extract relevant knowledge from those imprints.
This was the unique way of inheritance for otherworldly Spirit Beasts.
"The Mysterious Turtle refines Divine Power, the beehive... it draws Divine Consciousness."
Pang Jian twisted off the copper token, squinting to see the slowly healing crack of the Purgatory Gate.
He also noticed the four additional golden bee pupae, besides the Bee King.
The Dark Giant Python, Corrosion Boundary Vine, Mysterious Turtle, and the beehive—four oddities he obtained from the Solitude Mountain Range—flashed through his mind, bringing a brilliant shine to his eyes.
He felt a mysterious force had allocated these unusual items, rare even in the entire Purgatory World, early in the Solitude Mountain Range.
They were just waiting for the day he would enter with the copper token and collect them one by one.
The appearance of the Bee Insect in his Sea of Consciousness, which frightened the Spider Alien God that had spun the silver-white web, fully proved that the Golden Bee Insect might hold a fierce reputation even among Alien Gods from the Outer Realm!
The formation of the first bee pupa relied on the Divine Consciousness in the altars and stone statues of the Prayer Spirit Forbidden Land.
Because many Alien Gods sensed the altars and stone statues corresponding to them in the Forbidden Land, they projected part of their Divine Consciousness there, subsequently absorbed by Pang Jian’s copper token.
Without him, without the copper token and beehive in his hand, perhaps more Alien Gods would have manifested!
As Pang Jian’s thoughts wandered.
"Hiss! Hiss! Hiss hiss!"
Four new strands of Divine Sense suddenly surged from the "Spring Eye" below his Sea of Consciousness, wandering around within it.
His four strands of Divine Sense that had been sucked dry and swallowed by the Alien God’s web had been re-condensed.
Moreover, the new Divine Sense now had distinct colors!
Unlike the rest, four strands of Divine Sense gleamed with golden light, as if gilded, extraordinary and imbued with a divine mystery.
Upon closer inspection, they seemed to have been endowed with the power unique to God Spirits.
Observing quietly for a moment, Pang Jian sensed that these four strands of golden Divine Sense were refined with the Golden Bee Honey spit out by the Bee Insect, combined with his own power.
Pang Jian tried to control them with his mind.
He discovered that the golden Divine Sense had a compatibility with him that reached an unbelievably high level, containing Divine Might and many variations.
"Swoosh!"
The four strands of golden Divine Sense, like four golden bolts of lightning, flew swiftly through his Sea of Consciousness.
The movement of the golden Divine Sense was countless times faster than any other Divine Sense; with just a thought, they could reach any place in the Sea of Consciousness.
Pang Jian, surprised, once again pondered the marvel in his Sea of Consciousness.
"Whoo!"
The four strands of golden Divine Sense coalesced into a palm-sized golden shield, seemingly capable of resisting the penetration of powerful Soul Skills.
His thoughts shifted again.
This time, the four strands of golden Divine Sense sometimes transformed into a golden spear, sometimes into a small golden sword, and at other times, morphed into the shapes of leaves and pebbles.
The golden Divine Sense could shape-shift at will, turning his thoughts into reality.
"If I have more and more of this golden Divine Sense, could Soul Skills be instantly created at a whim?"
Pang Jian’s eyes gleamed with excitement.
He had long understood that the so-called Soul Skills cultivated in the Hollow Profound Realm involved arranging strands of Divine Sense in a manner similar to a Spirit Array.
He had been focusing intently on controlling Divine Sense in order to handle all Divine Sense and thereby learn some profound Soul Skills.
Previously, when facing the soul invasion of the Alien God and the sinister pull of that web, he could only marshal his Divine Sense to keep distant, having no other means of reaction.
If he learned Soul Skills, had offensive and defensive capabilities, he would not be so defenseless in similar situations.
The formation of the four golden strands of Divine Sense and their incredibly high compatibility with him made him feel that any Soul Skill he cultivated using the golden Divine Sense would result in even greater power.
"What a pity, only four strands..."
Pang Jian first felt a tinge of regret but soon looked up at the sky with anticipation.
He was awaiting the arrival of a new Alien God.
Time passed, though he knew not how long.
"Woo-woo! Woo-woo-woo!"
A ghostly wailing rose from the vast sea of clouds above everyone’s heads.
Pang Jian’s spirits lifted as he stood above Black Iron Mountain, activating his Star-shattering Umbrella and Nine Suns Tripod, ready for battle.
The eyes of the Mysterious Turtle, an emerald green, also locked onto the space above.
Yet strangely enough, as a Demigod of the Panshi Fragment Land, Pang Jian couldn’t catch a glimpse of the newcomer through the land’s vision and see who was descending.
It was as if some peculiar power had quietly obscured his perceptions, preventing him from peering into the future.
"Huff!"
A dark yellow banner suddenly appeared!
This flag, riddled with holes and gaps, revealed numerous eerie pupils, as if many consciousnesses hidden in another world were gazing at the Panshi Fragment Land below through the fabric’s orifices.
Then...
The dark yellow banner suddenly stopped its descent, becoming still in midair.
The noisy whispers of the Alien God vanished altogether.
"Huff!"
Suddenly, the banner shot upwards at an even greater speed, disappearing into the sky in an instant.
Pang Jian and the Mysterious Turtle, who had been eagerly gearing up to hunt this god, were dumbstruck.
The newly arrived Alien God had fled without a fight!
The Mysterious Turtle’s emerald eyes solemnly regarded Pang Jian, as if to suggest that it was Pang Jian’s appearance that had frightened the Alien God attached to the dark yellow banner.
"It’s got nothing to do with me."
Pang Jian shook his head.
The Mysterious Turtle’s gaze was insistent, implying that it was after seeing him that the new Alien God made a swift retreat from Panshi Fragment Land, daring not to linger for a moment longer.
"Impossible, I’m not that capable. Think of a way to lure it back down," Pang Jian denied, then commanded. "Here in this world, it would be a breeze for us to slaughter Him. His Divine Consciousness could aid in the transformation of my own. Not killing Him would be doing others a favor."
The Mysterious Turtle remained silent.
Within its emerald eyes, tiny points of light whirled rapidly like stars.
After a moment, it informed Pang Jian that the Alien God from the Outer Realm had moved extremely far away from Panshi Fragment Land.
It had lost its perception of the Alien God.
And it mentioned that within its bloodline’s imprint lay memories related to that Alien God.
It was an Alien God who used its many sinister pupils to silently observe Purgatory through the torn fabric of the banner, known as... The Observer.
This was a middle-tier Alien God.
The Observer, who possessed the power to bewitch the hearts and souls of humans, could detect the hidden wonders on their targets.
According to the Mysterious Turtle, it was this middle-tier Alien God named The Observer who had seen something terrifying in Pang Jian and hence fled without fighting.
"Is it really me?"
Pang Jian still found it difficult to believe.
The Mysterious Turtle solemnly looked at him, its massive head nodding slightly, affirming that it was indeed him.
"Huff!"
With no opponent to face, the Mysterious Turtle retracted back into the earth.
Pang Jian, on the other hand, looked up at the sky with furrowed brows.
After the banner had drifted far away, it was very likely still floating above in the Meteorite Sea; the Mysterious Turtle, being of immense size and not wishing to expose itself, could not pursue it out of the Fragment Land.
Without the home advantage of Panshi Fragment Land, even if Pang Jian entered the Meteorite Sea and encountered The Observer, partaking of some divine power through the torn banner, he wouldn’t have the confidence to win.
"We’ll have to let it go."
Pang Jian felt somewhat regretful.
His mind focused, and he sensed the piece of Mysterious Turtle shell deeply embedded within the earth of the Prayer Spirit Forbidden Land.
He knew that if he wished, he could teleport there at any time and instantly appear in the Prayer Spirit Forbidden Land.
"No need to rush; let’s wait and see. Perhaps other Alien Gods will appear," he thought.
He remained unwilling to give up.
Several days later.
The Alien God known as The Observer had not shown itself again. Instead, the Sapling in Cloud Marsh sent a distress signal to Pang Jian.
Once the connection was made, Pang Jian saw the Corrosion Boundary Vine rooted in Cloud Marsh, its branches swaying, casting thousands of glimmering green lights that fell upon the bodies of the Wood Tribe people.
Dozens of Wood Tribe warriors had surrounded the Corrosion Boundary Vine, and they were astonishingly engaged in a melee with each other!
Pang Jian was greatly surprised.
Upon close inspection, he discovered a huge Woodman trudging toward the Cloud Marsh Sapling amidst the lush vegetation of Cloud Marsh with heavy "thumps."
Its wooden statue-like body was also constantly dispersing Filth Alien Power, and its eyes were filled with the emptiness of decay and death.
As It marched forward, and wherever Its gaze fell, the flowers and trees withered at a visible rate.
The Corrosion Boundary Vine and the Wood Tribe people, having put forth immense effort to cultivate this wondrous land, were now on the brink of becoming a desolate territory due to Its arrival!
Some members of the Wood Tribe had even been contaminated by Its malevolent Divine Power, their bodies enveloped by an aura of death, just like Its own.
