"Here they come, they’re coming out." The sound of firecrackers echoed all around, and the laughter of both adults and children grew even louder.

Without waiting for Lin Changshu to reach the bridal sedan, Chu Suifeng swooped Lin Ziyin from his back, holding her close in his arms.

"Ha ha."

Someone even started whistling.

Held in Chu Suifeng’s arms, Lin Ziyin was a mixture of bashful and uneasy. Oddly enough, her mind was filled with images of her modern self - living alone, fighting alone, crying alone, lonely. Her parents’ failed relationship had left her disillusioned about marriage. She had never thought that she herself would one day enter into matrimony.

"Don’t worry, we’ll be there soon." Chu Suifeng whispered into her ear. "You will be safe under my protection on this journey."

Hearing Chu Suifeng’s soft whispers, Lin Ziyin’s uneasy heart was suddenly calmed. The reason she had agreed to be with Chu Suifeng, aside from the pressure from various aspects, was mostly because Chu Suifeng’s life experiences resembled her own, and his eyes reflected a yearning for warmth and familial love which moved her deeply.

In truth, living with Chu Suifeng was not as difficult as one might imagine. Even though the Prince may lack some emotional intelligence, he had always been indulgent and protective towards her, even spoiling her at times. The love in his eyes was genuine. As the saying goes, the eyes are the windows to the soul - Lin Ziyin could tell what was genuine and what was not.

Amidst the laughter of the crowd, and Lin Ziyin’s complex thoughts, she was gently lifted into the bridal sedan.

"The weather is cold, so I’ve sped up the process. I’ve prepared some food for you in the sedan." Chu Suifeng spoke softly.

Even though the weather outside was chilly, the spacious sedan had been layered with a thick tiger skin rug and a downy quilt by Chu Suifeng. In the quilt, there were several hot soup bags and a box of pastries - her favorite red bean cookies.

This man seemed rough around the edges, yet his attentiveness could be heart-wrenching at times.

Lin Ziyin’s heart was completely at ease. No one knew what the future held, but as long as she knew that this man genuinely cared for her now, it was enough.

Suddenly, Lin Ziyin’s heart felt lighter. She had once resented her modern-life mother. If her mother hadn’t chosen to be the other woman, she wouldn’t have had such a difficult life. She wouldn’t have been taunted as a fatherless child from a young age.

But just now, she had realized something. It seemed that women were genuinely creatures of emotion, capable of abandoning everything for love.

Perhaps at her core, she was just like her mother!

The sound of the firecrackers outside was particularly loud. Today was a rare sunny day with the bright red sun watching over everyone from above. Despite the cold weather, Lin Ziyin felt nothing but warmth inside the bridal sedan.

"You better treat my sister well, or I won’t let you off easily, even if you are a prince." As the bridal sedan was about to be lifted, a resentful, threatening voice came from outside.

Lin Ziyin gently lifted her veil, then peeked out through a small opening in the curtain.

Amidst the sparkling snow, Lin Changting, clad in a lake-blue quilted mantle, was staring seriously at Chu Suifeng. As the bridegroom, Chu Suifeng, dressed in a bright red wedding robe, looked less imposing than usual, but radiated a greater aura of joy. Naturally good-looking, and donning his best look for the wedding, using modern terms, he was totally handsome.

"Changting." Lin Changshu sighed heavily and walked over, intending to dissuade Changting. But Changting remained stubbornly focused on Chu Suifeng.

"You cannot bully auntie, or else, I will fight you too." Yanzhi also rushed in front of Chu Suifeng.
