Chapter 527: 526 Where do I have a way? (First update)
Li Xianyun saw the dangerous messages in the slightly darkened eyes of Yelu Yan, so she hugged him, her little face almost pressed against the cloth of his chest, before she looked up at him.
"Husband, will we still hold the wedding?"
The wedding had originally been planned for ten days later, but time had passed and there had been changes.
"Of course, I have already ordered the Department Ceremonial Affairs to choose the closest auspicious day."
He was eager to hold the wedding, eager to bestow upon his woman the highest honor, eager for the whole world to know that Li Xianyun was his woman.
Li Xianyun nodded slightly, "Husband, according to Han customs, the bride and groom cannot see each other for three days before the wedding."
She was indirectly telling him that she couldn’t spend the night with him, and she did so with complete confidence.
This woman truly is...
"Do you not miss your husband?"
Sometimes, retreating can be more effective than pressing forward aggressively to achieve one’s goals.
He couldn’t be apart from her, Li Xianyun, for a single moment, wishing he could give her his heart.
And there she was, not missing him, not depending on him at all.
Indeed, they say women’s hearts are inscrutable as the ocean depths.
Li Xianyun nestled into Yelu Yan’s embrace, looking up at him with a smile, "Of course I miss you, but the rites must not be neglected."
Not only was she justified, but she also made it sound honorable.
Unable to argue with her, Yelu Yan leaned down and fiercely captured Li Xianyun’s lips, rolling them between his own.
Li Xianyun knew she was wrong, but she was unwilling to give in.
How long could the king and queen, her parents, stay? They would surely need her company, so he would have to be put out, to be compensated later.
Li Xianyun gently grabbed the front of Yelu Yan’s clothes, allowing him to ravage her lips, his kisses as relentless as a whirlwind.
Not until both were out of breath did Yelu Yan slightly raise his head, gazing intently into her sparkling eyes.
"I don’t care, you still have to make time every day to keep me company."
Li Xianyun’s lips were red and glossy, wet with moisture, she opened her mouth to persuade him, "Husband, um..."
But the man gave her no chance, fiercely biting her lips again, probing deeply, entwining with her, not missing any edge.
Li Xianyun gently closed her eyes, her eyelashes fluttering like butterfly wings, letting him take and bully her as he wished.
When the carriage entered the Imperial Palace, Yelu Yan was on top of Li Xianyun, his head buried in her chest.
The wheels rumbled, the carriage shook, and her unbound breasts shook with it.
Gleaming white and tender, trembling provocatively.
Naturally, Yelu Yan would not shortchange himself, after having been entwined for so long.
The conversation between Jinwu and the city guards filtered into the carriage.
Li Xianyun, her eyes lightly closed, was enjoying endless tenderness until she heard the noise and opened her eyes—her eyelids flushed, her gaze water-like, clearly moved by passion.
She wrapped her arms around the head buried in her chest, trying to push him away.
"Husband, we’re almost there; it’s time to get up."
Yelu Yan bit her gently.
Unable to bear it, Li Xianyun moved and called out, "Husband."
Yelu Yan, caught in the moment, naturally refused to get up, mumbling, "We still have time."
Knowing she would see her parents soon and wouldn’t be able to accompany him much, she let him be.
After a while, Li Xianyun urged him again, but Yelu Yan was still unwilling to let her go, teasing and nibbling in every way he could.
After a few rejections, and with Li Xianyun starting to get angry, Yelu Yan finally lifted his head reluctantly, withdrawing his hand from beneath her skirt.
Crawling to Li Xianyun’s side, he bowed his head to peck her lips and chuckled, "Xianxian, you want your husband, your husband knows it."
"Flirt," she accused.
Yelu Yan kissed Li Xianyun deeply before he sat up with a laugh, leaned over to lift her up, and straightened her clothing and underskirt.
Li Xianyun then let down her hair and took out a comb and a bronze mirror from the chest under the desk to groom her waterfall-like black hair, styling it into a fashionable updo.
Aside from making the carriage incredibly cozy, Yelu Yan also brought along a plethora of items, from clothes to everyday necessities, fully prepared.
The majority were in another carriage while a smaller portion was stored in the chest under the desk.
As Li Xianyun combed her hair, she would glance at the bronze mirror. For the parts she couldn’t see, she turned to ask Yelu Yan if it was tidy, if it looked good, and if there were any stray hairs.
Yelu Yan would either reply, "It’s tidy," "It looks good," or "It’s quite alright."
Li Xianyun looked at him reproachfully, "Asking you is a waste of time."
Yelu Yan gave her a smile as he continued to straighten the collar of her dress, "Only now you realize that."
Li Xianyun "hmphed" and continued to fix her hair.
The reason she asked was partly due to her love for beauty and partly because she was afraid that an untidy hairdo might lead to speculation that they had been up to no good in the carriage.
The truth was they had been up to no good, but that was for them to know.
After Li Xianyun finished with her hair, Yelu Yan finished straightening her clothing as well, then he bowed his head to adjust his own.
He was easy to fix up everywhere except for his crotch, which, despite the loose-fitting trousers, was still somewhat prominent.
That was the downside of being stalwart, if it rose it could neither be hidden nor concealed.
Li Xianyun put away the comb and mirror and closed the chest, but when she turned around she saw Yelu Yan fixing his trousers and her face instantly turned red. She averted her gaze, pretending not to notice.
Yelu Yan looked up at her and laughed, "You stirred this up, you might as well think of a way to help your husband."
"What way can I possibly have?" Li Xianyun said, looking aside.
After Yelu Yan adjusted himself, he stood straight and looked at Li Xianyun, "Xianxian, does it look less obvious now?"
Li Xianyun eventually turned to look. After a careful inspection, she said, "If you don’t look carefully, it’s not noticeable. But it feels even more pronounced."
Yelu Yan laughed, "Because you’re looking at it."
Blaming her again.
Li Xianyun "hmphed" in response.
Yelu Yan sat beside her, wrapped an arm around her, and said with a smile, "Actually, I have a better solution."
Li Xianyun already knew what he was going to say, "I don’t want to hear it."
Yelu Yan insisted on telling her anyway, whispering into her ear with his lips barely touching her delicate earlobe, he chuckled, "You let your husband...once, and everything will be solved."
He quieted his voice on the most crucial word, but the word "do" still entered her ear, igniting a fire within her, warming her up.
The carriage soon came to a stop at the entrance of Khan Palace.
Yaduo and Li Rui, along with Li Shaojun and Li Xianyi, were all waiting at the entrance to Khan Palace.
Behind them stood the accompanying maids and palace servants.
A large crowd of people.
As soon as Yelu Yan arrived in Shangjing, someone sent word to the palace.
Yaduo then joined Li Xianyun’s family at Khan Palace to wait for the couple’s return.
The party from Prince’s Mansion had arrived in Shangjing three days earlier than Yelu Yan and Li Xianyun.
During those three days, they had been staying in the side halls of Khan Palace, where Li Xianyun stayed when she did not share a room with Yelu Yan.
It was so that Li Xianyun could spend quality time with her family.
The accommodations for the party from Prince’s Mansion had been arranged long ago and were personally overseen by Yelu Yan.
