Chapter 398: 397 Xianxian, will you leave your husband? (three watches of the night)
The door to the bathhouse creaked open, and Yelu Yan’s large frame emerged, carrying a delicate beauty in his arms.
Li Xianyun was wrapped tightly by Yelu Yan, only a small head peeking out.
A fresh, tender face that was still steaming with warmth nestled obediently in the crook of Yelu Yan’s arm, half-dry locks of black hair cascading down, adding to her enchanting allure.
She now felt as if all her bones had been removed, her body limp and soft, her long, creamy legs trembling, the tingling sensation from before lingering on.
Bending his head, Yelu Yan gazed at her and couldn’t resist kissing her warm lips, even teasing her with the tip of his tongue.
Li Xianyun gave the man before her a sidelong glance, her strength to curse him drained away, her eyes misty and damp with indignation.
This only made the other person laugh more heartily and unrestrained.
Everyone says men’s mouths are like ghosts of deceit.
Li Xianyun once again deeply felt this to be true.
Yelu Yan’s words rushed out, saying it’d be over soon, but he showed no sign of retreating or stopping. After having his way with her from behind, he carried her to the edge of the warm pool for another round.
Taking advantage of Yelu Yan cleaning up, Li Xianyun tried to escape, but he caught her and pressed her onto him, making her straddle his legs for yet another round.
Li Xianyun inwardly lamented – in her next life, she would never choose a man from the military camp again. Was he treating her like a battlefield?
Yelu Yan seemed to have cast off all restraint, leaving peach blossom kiss marks all over her.
The marks on her skin were like petals on white snow in the last month of the year – glaring yet igniting wild desire.
What was even more infuriating was that Yelu Yan had left several peach blossoms on her neck, impossible to hide even with high-collared clothing.
Li Xianyun had been caught at a sensitive spot and, after trying to stop him twice to no avail, she relented.
At that critical moment, both her body and mind felt warm, as if something was steaming within her. Her movements ceased to follow reason and instead obeyed the overwhelming sensations surging through her body.
Now that the tide had receded, Li Xianyun began to feel regret, thinking she shouldn’t have indulged him anymore.
Returning to the inner chamber, Yelu Yan carried Li Xianyun straight to the bed, removed the towel from her body, wrapped her in the quilt, and sat beside her to dry her hair with a towel.
Having dressed her and dried her hair halfway in the bathhouse and noticing her cold hands and feet, he had wrapped her up and brought her back.
Li Xianyun let him do as he pleased, obediently lying on the bed, too lazy to even move her toes.
Her small face was pink and smooth, her eyes bright as they looked ahead.
Yelu Yan thought that Li Xianyun had fallen asleep. As he turned his head, he saw her eyes wide open, her long lashes fluttering, and her lustrous white skin with a faint blush so delicate it seemed touchable, an unearthly beauty.
Yelu Yan’s heart skipped a beat. Had he gone too far earlier, making her sick?
He was indeed heartless.
The hand Yelu Yan had been using to dry her hair suddenly stopped, his rough palm resting on her forehead, which wasn’t hot.
Relieved, he leaned over and asked, "What’s the matter, Xianxian? Are you feeling unwell?"
Li Xianyun glanced at him and said in a distant tone, "No."
"Aren’t you tired? Why aren’t you sleeping yet?"
"Isn’t that your fault?" Li Xianyun retorted softly.
He had wiped away any hint of sleepiness, leaving her mind even clearer.
She recalled the words Yelu Yan kept making her repeat, as if he wanted to etch them into her mind.
"Husband, did something happen today?" Li Xianyun looked up at him.
He had been unusually possessive of her that day.
Not wanting to shatter the beautiful mood, Yelu Yan didn’t mention Sheng Heng’s arrival in Khitan, but instead fibbed, "Your husband had a dream last night, dreamt that you ran away with someone else, and I was driven mad, unable to find you anywhere."
Li Xianyun laughed, "Silly, dreams are all fake."
"But it felt so real in the dream." Yelu Yan took Li Xianyun’s small hand, kissed it gently against his stubbled mouth, and asked, "Xianxian, would you ever leave your husband?"
"Never."
Li Xianyun’s chin rested on her interlaced hands, moving up and down as she spoke, like a tame and harmless little animal.
Although she said this, she knew in her heart that no one could be sure what the future held.
She intended to think about her own affairs after taking revenge, but seeing how much Yelu Yan cared, she couldn’t bear to hurt him.
Li Xianyun pursed her lips. She was a bad woman, sometimes unwilling to be responsible.
She did like Yelu Yan, but she couldn’t control the bad thoughts that came to her in waves.
Yelu Yan leaned in and pecked her plump cheek lightly.
Li Xianyun turned her head and kissed him back, pressing her lips to his and then delving deeper, giving in to her desires this time.
Yelu Yan was taken aback at first, then welcomed her, stretching his long arm to scoop her up into his embrace, bowing his head to entwine with her passionately.
Just as Yelu Yan’s hand slipped under Li Xianyun’s clothes to caress her, Li Xianyun lifted her hand to catch his larger one and turned her head away.
Yelu Yan’s moist and hot kiss fell on the corner of Li Xianyun’s mouth.
He lifted his head, looking at her with unabated desire, "What’s wrong?"
Li Xianyun smiled with her lips curved, hugging his neck and burying her little face in his neck, "My lord, I am tired."
Yelu Yan tilted his head and kissed her earlobe, laughing, "Then why provoke your husband?"
Li Xianyun let out a light laugh.
Yelu Yan patted her bottom twice, laughing, "Sit properly, your husband will comb your hair for you."
Li Xianyun made a sound of agreement, obediently straightening up and turning her back to him.
After Yelu Yan had combed her hair and tidied her up, he wrapped his arms around her to sleep.

The next morning, Li Xianyun, along with her people, went early to the Xuanyi Pavilion.
Many patients were already waiting there, even more than the day before.
Li Xianyun directed the Imperial Physicians to their respective rooms to see patients, after giving a number of detailed instructions, she went to the second courtyard to check on the children.
The five children, having gone to sleep early, also woke up early.
After eating, they played in the yard, riding stick horses, finally showing some smiles on their faces.
Jinwu and Youlan were accompanying them by their side.
Youlan watched the children play, while Jinwu stood behind her, gazing at her dumbly. He looked up to find Li Xianyun watching them.
Caught off guard, Jinwu was embarrassed, his face turning red, and he saluted Li Xianyun with a bow, "Greetings to the Princess Consort."
Seeing Li Xianyun arrive, the five children ran up, surrounding her and calling her "Sister" affectionately.
Li Xianyun preferred them not to call her Princess Consort; it felt closer to be called Sister.
Li Xianyun played with them for a while before going to the first courtyard to see patients.
The Xuanyi Pavilion was much more orderly today than yesterday.
One reason was that the Imperial Physicians, Palace Servants, and guards had gained experience, another was that the near-death revival of Li Xianyun had spread widely, and also, those who had caused trouble the previous day had mysteriously vanished, deterring others from causing further disturbances.
As it neared 11 AM, a commotion arose outside the gate.
Ge Lei hurried in and bowed to Li Xianyun, "Your Highness, the family of one of the children has arrived. Should we let them in?"
Li Xianyun said, "There’s no need to enter, there are many patients in the courtyard, and it would be inconvenient. Direct them to enter through the side door to the second courtyard to take the child."
She added, "Make sure the child confirms their identity before handing the child over to them."
"Understood."
While it was unlikely there would be any issue at the stage of family reclaiming, it was better to be safe than sorry and be responsible for the children.
