Chapter 326: 325 Khan’s ’Love Rival’ (Second Update)

Yelu Yan had wiped the water off Li Xianyun, then dressed her in undergarments and an overcoat.

While dressing her in undergarments, Yelu Yan deliberately checked for swelling but, still, he applied some ointment to Li Xianyun so she would feel more comfortable.

Li Xianyun felt completely tossed around by him and did not resist when he applied the medicine, allowing him to do as he wished, emitting low moans.

She couldn’t help but think of the scene that had just occurred.

Just now, Li Xianyun had kissed him embarrassingly and indignantly under Yelu Yan’s coercion.

Yet, Yelu Yan remained motionless, like a piece of wood.

Li Xianyun lifted her head and cooed at him, "Husband."

"Want?"

Li Xianyun hummed in affirmation.

"Fetch it yourself."

Li Xianyun felt like her dignity had been trampled on the ground, but what could she do?

Li Xianyun reached down, her small hand far too pale and delicate compared to his.

After several attempts, she still couldn’t manage and could only look at Yelu Yan helplessly.

Little did she know, someone was leisurely watching her, taking in her every expression.

Li Xianyun knew what he was waiting for, pursed her lips, and whispered something in his ear.

Yelu Yan seemed to finally come alive and took charge.

Li Xianyun dared not dwell on the memory any longer, quickly biting down on her lip.

After applying the ointment, Yelu Yan picked up her small foot to dress her and, looking up, saw her blushing face and dazed expression, not knowing what she was thinking, and couldn’t help but feel worried, asking softly, "Xianxian, what’s wrong? Do you feel unwell?"

Li Xianyun shook her head with her ears burning hot.

She couldn’t let Yelu Yan know what she had just been thinking.

Yelu Yan gave Li Xianyun a deep look, finished dressing her, stood up, and took a dry soft cloth, replacing the wet one on her hair.

After drying her hair halfway, he carried her out of the bathhouse and all the way back to the inner chamber.

During this time, Li Xianyun wrapped her arms around his neck, resting her head gently on his shoulder, very well-behaved.

Yelu Yan looked down at her, she had her eyelids lowered, like a lotus emerging from water, her small, fair face all rosy and her body smelled wonderfully sweet.

Perhaps embarrassed by his gaze, Li Xianyun gave him a sidelong glance and buried her face in his neck, refusing to let him see.

This move elicited a hearty laugh from Yelu Yan.

Li Xianyun, leaning on his shoulder, patted his chest lightly and chided, "Keep it down a little."

Yelu Yan hummed in response, then added, "Afraid of what?"

Li Xianyun gave a grunt and then ignored him.

Yelu Yan placed Li Xianyun on the bed, pulled the soft covers over her, wrapping her tightly, and sat on the edge of the bed to dry her hair bit by bit.

After a while, Li Xianyun yawned greatly, wiped the tear stains from the corner of her eyes, and said, "Husband, I’m so sleepy, I want to sleep."

Yelu Yan brought his head close, kissed her cheek, and said indulgently, "Your hair is not dry yet, lying down to sleep will give you a headache. You lie on your stomach to sleep, and I will dry your hair, then you can lie down to sleep, okay?"

Yelu Yan had never used such a negotiating tone with anyone before.

But ever since Li Xianyun had married into the family, he had gotten used to talking to her this way.

Of course, he only adopted this tone when facing Li Xianyun.

Such a negotiating tone inevitably exposed the nature of their relationship.

In their relationship, it was always Yelu Yan who was more eager; he was the one who loved more.

The one who loves more is always the humbler one.

Li Xianyun murmured a soft "mm" and struggled to sit up.

Yelu Yan raised his hand to stop her, "Let me hold you."

As he spoke, he scooped Li Xianyun into his arms horizontally, laid her on the bed, pulled the quilt over her, and continued to sit beside her, drying her hair.

Li Xianyun closed her eyes and said softly, "My lord, after you dry my hair for a while, you should sleep too."

"Alright."

Li Xianyun’s eyelids were heavy as if they weighed a thousand pounds, and she fell asleep shortly after closing her eyes, unaware that Yelu Yan had been drying her hair for quite some time.

Only after thoroughly drying Li Xianyun’s waterfall-like hair did Yelu Yan rise, feeling a soreness in both his arms.

He stretched out his limbs and, with a smile, gazed at Li Xianyun, gently running his hand through her hair.

Li Xianyun’s small face was resting on her crossed hands, her breathing even, resembling a docile and harmless kitten.

Yelu Yan was momentarily lost in thought. He actually thought of his "rival in love," his woman was so much more adorable than that stinky little kitten.

After a moment, Yelu Yan got up, carefully lifted her into the bed, took off his shoes, climbed in, pulled over the quilt to cover both of them, and slowly slid beside Li Xianyun, clinging tightly to her.

Yelu Yan raised his hand and brought Li Xianyun into his embrace, kissing her forehead gently before contentedly closing his eyes.

In the dead of night, when all was silent, Yelu Yan heard a faint movement outside, and his eyes snapped open.

Living for years in the military camp, he had developed the habit of perpetual vigilance; he was so keen that he would detect any slight disturbance immediately.

Especially with his beloved woman lying beside him, Yelu Yan was even more alert than usual.

A Hidden Guard was delivering a message.

Yelu Yan intended to settle Li Xianyun first before going out, but when he looked down, he saw her pale face, her brows furrowed, sleeping fitfully.

His heart skipped a beat, and concern surged within him.

He had been too indulgent these past days; could he have harmed her?

Yelu Yan leaned in and asked gently, "Xianxian, what’s wrong?"

Li Xianyun’s eyelashes fluttered lightly. Still with her eyes closed, her red lips parted slightly, and in a tender voice, she said, "My belly hurts."

Yelu Yan said with considerable guilt, "It’s my fault, I shouldn’t have..."

I shouldn’t have been so demanding, night and day...

Just now, Yelu Yan actually had wanted her, but seeing that Li Xianyun was really too tired, he thought to spare her.

Yet, the little lady took the initiative, braving the embarrassment, sobbing as she kissed him.

This was the first time Li Xianyun had been so forward, and Yelu Yan could no longer hold back.

Now he truly regretted his actions.

Gently shaking her head, Li Xianyun slowly opened her eyes and interrupted, "My lord, it’s not because of you; my monthly bleeding is about to start."

Yelu Yan was immediately somewhat bewildered at her words.

The last time she had her monthly bleeding, Li Xianyun was in pain the entire night.

"I will get you a hand warmer," Yelu Yan said as he abruptly rose to his feet.

He remembered that the last time she had her period, holding the hand warmer eased her stomach pain.

Seeing Yelu Yan flustered, Li Xianyun forced a smile and said, "Just call Youlan and Zhuo Ma in; they know what to do."

Yelu Yan gave a simple-minded "Oh" in response.

How could he have forgotten to call the maids in?

After making sure Li Xianyun was covered with the quilt, Yelu Yan quickly donned his outer robe from the clothes rack and called Youlan and Zhuo Ma inside.

The two maids indeed knew better than him, immediately having someone prepare Ginger Sugar Water, and bringing the menstrual cloth and hand warmer.

Li Xianyun wanted to lay down the menstrual cloth in the inner room but seeing Yelu Yan frowning and looking helpless by the bedside, she found it both unfamiliar and amusing, "My lord, please step out for a while. I’ll call you later."

"Alright."

Yelu Yan obediently went out.
