Chapter 216: 216 Xianxian, do you not want to be apart from your husband? (First update)
Li Xianyun lay on Yelu Yan’s chest, her little face flushed, lips slightly swollen, clothes slipped down, hanging askew on her shoulders, leaving marks of love on her snow-like skin.
She breathed heavily, her small hands not idle, playing with the black mole on Yelu Yan’s collarbone.
Yelu Yan’s clothes were also crumpled, revealing his firm chest.
Their embrace was so beautiful it was almost embarrassing to look at.
After Li Xianyun’s disordered breathing had calmed down a bit, she looked up at Yelu Yan, "My lord, I’d like to set off for the Border Market the day after tomorrow, is that okay?"
Yelu Yan gently patted her slender, pretty back, humming in agreement, treating it like the most ordinary matter.
But it would take her seven or eight days for a round trip. Didn’t Yelu Yan miss her at all?
Li Xianyun placed her small arm on Yelu Yan’s chest as hard as iron, propped herself up, and looked at his handsome face.
Yelu Yan’s tiger eyes glinted with amusement as he asked with a smile, "What is it?"
Li Xianyun looked at him with her limpid, apricot eyes, her brows slightly furrowed, her voice soft and tender, "I’ll be away for seven or eight days. Don’t you miss me?"
Li Xianyun had grown accustomed to his pampering; Yelu Yan always clung to her. Suddenly not being clung to made her feel a sense of loss, and she was not used to it.
Yelu Yan stared at her unblinkingly, his smile deepening, "Of course I’d miss you, my dear, but what can I do? Would you not go for my sake?"
"I can’t."
"Well then, that’s settled," said Yelu Yan, his mood light and his tone airy.
"But..."
Li Xianyun felt somewhat aggrieved, yet also felt that being upset was unreasonable. It was she who wanted to go; Yelu Yan had agreed so readily despite the pressure, and it was wrong for her to feel down about it.
Yelu Yan raised an eyebrow, his gaze intense, his amusement impossible to hide.
"Xianxian, do you not want to separate from your husband?"
Li Xianyun gave him a sidelong glance, lying on his firm chest, listening to the strong beat of his heart, "Of course not."
Yelu Yan wrapped one arm around her slender waist, the other protecting her adorable little head, flipping her onto the bed and pinning her down.
Li Xianyun’s face turned beet-red at this sudden move, shyly looking up at him.
Yelu Yan watched her with a smile, "Do you or do you not?"
Li Xianyun, dimples barely showing, shook her head with a smile.
Yelu Yan kissed her petal-like reddened lips and said with a laugh, "Do you or do you not."
Li Xianyun watched Yelu Yan laugh, her fair and tender face flushing, her eyes growing darker and more lustrous, as clear and pure as ever.
"No."
Yelu Yan nibbled at her lips again, his rough hand starting to tickle her waist.
Li Xianyun squirmed, laughing as she begged for mercy, "I do, I do!"
Yelu Yan then stopped what he was doing, his eyes smiling at her, "What do you have?"
Li Xianyun answered sweetly, "The thought of not wanting to part from you."
Yelu Yan pressed a deep kiss on her lips, then showered her face with random kisses.
Li Xianyun pushed at his head, laughing, "Ticklish—ticklish—"
Yelu Yan stopped, looked up at her with his face still very close. A slight move forward, and their lips would meet.
"Are you well rested?"
"What?" Li Xianyun was caught off guard by the abrupt change in topic.
However, seeing Yelu Yan’s predatory gaze, Li Xianyun instantly understood, glanced to one side, blushing as if a flower bud about to bloom – fresh and tender; her lips parted delicately, she said softly, "I’m not well-rested."
Yelu Yan bowed his head and captured her lips, muttering indistinctly, "That’s not up to you."
As he said it, he kissed her deeply.
Li Xianyun couldn’t help but let out a soft "Mmm," her hands helplessly grasping at the loose fabric on his shoulder.
...
The next day, Li Xianyun slept in late, because she had to part from Yelu Yan, so she indulged him in his nonsense.
Li Xianyun could clearly feel his change, a change that made her deeply afraid, even giving her a feeling of inevitability.
Her body was stiff, and she couldn’t stop trembling.
Yelu Yan noticed her abnormality, hugged her in his arms, and kissed her bit by bit, coaxing her, "Xianxian, don’t be afraid. Your husband is just kissing you, and won’t do anything to you, okay?"
Li Xianyun’s eyes were vacant, and bad memories grabbed her tightly like hands from hell, ready to crush her to pieces with the slightest force.
She hugged Yelu Yan’s broad and warm neck, trembling as she called out to him, "Husband..."
"Husband is here, don’t be afraid, okay?"
"Husband."
"Yes, Xianxian, don’t be afraid."
"Husband."
"Yes."
...
She called him over and over, as if only by doing so could she dispel the fear in her heart.
Yelu Yan held her close to him, patiently responding to each of her calls.
The veins on his forehead bulged, and he clenched his teeth; he had realized long ago that Li Xianyun was very resistant to matrimonial affairs.
Previously, he had always been careful, but this time he had gone a bit too far and hadn’t restrained himself, and then her mood changed instantly.
Just the thought that something bad might have happened to Li Xianyun made Yelu Yan feel like a furious beast, wishing he could rip those who had bullied her to shreds.
He held her carefully and kissed her cheek gently, comforting her, "Xianxian, don’t be afraid, your husband is here."
Under his kisses and soothing, there was finally a glimmer in Li Xianyun’s eyes; she seemed to come back to life.
Li Xianyun looked at Yelu Yan and pouted slightly before nestling into his embrace.
Yelu Yan could clearly see the tears in Li Xianyun’s eyes; she was strong and rarely cried, but this time she had been frightened to tears.
He felt heartbroken, holding her and patting her, "Xianxian, don’t be afraid, okay?"
"Yes."
Yelu Yan wanted to ask Li Xianyun what had happened and why she was so afraid of Murong Ce.
However, his lips moved but he ultimately did not ask. He didn’t want to reopen her wounds; he couldn’t bear to see her sad and distressed.
Not knowing how much time had passed, Li Xianyun fell asleep in Yelu Yan’s arms, with moist traces remaining on her long eyelashes—she had cried.
Yelu Yan furrowed his brows as he looked at the woman in his arms, raising his hand to gently wipe her tears and tidy the hair in front of her forehead.
She was so delicate and lovely, so gentle and kind-hearted, why did she have to go through such terrible things?
How could he tolerate that the woman he cherished in his palm had once been hurt by others?
Li Xianyun felt the movement and murmured softly, "Husband."
"Husband is here."
Yelu Yan’s voice was extremely gentle.
Li Xianyun, with her eyes closed, burrowed into Yelu Yan’s chest.
Yelu Yan hugged her tightly; his handsome, resolute chin gently rubbed the top of her head, exuding an indescribable doting affection.
At midnight.
Yelu Yan lowered his head to kiss Li Xianyun’s little face.
Li Xianyun wriggled from being tickled, "Husband, no."
As she spoke, she turned over.
