Chapter 210: Why are you still not sleeping at 210? Waiting for your husband? (First watch)

After Li Xianyun finished cooking, fearing that Yelu Yan wouldn’t have anything to eat when he returned, she asked Zhuo Ma to pick some bok choy and green onions and made a separate plate of bok choy and tofu to save for him.

Yaduo, now older, preferred lighter fare, so she really enjoyed the bok choy tofu dish and asked Li Xianyun to make it for her again.

Li Xianyun cheerfully agreed.

After the meal, Li Xianyun chatted with Yaduo for a while, then returned to the main hall to bathe and change clothes.

Seeing that there was still time, Li Xianyun had Youlan and Zhuo Ma brighten the lights in the inner chamber and lay on the bed to read about medicine.

She had previously promised Wu Mu that she would go to the Imperial Medical Bureau to teach them about recognizing acupoints and the skill of acupuncture, but with so many things happening now, she could only handle things one by one.

She planned to finish the matters of the August festival first, then make a trip to the Border Market to finalize the business of preserved fruits and raisins, and afterwards dedicate herself to her old profession—practicing medicine, saving lives, and spreading medical knowledge.

She didn’t know how much time had passed when Yelu Yan pushed the door open and walked in.

The inner chamber was brightly lit, and a faint fragrance lingered, warm and comfortable, easily dissipating his fatigue.

Yelu Yan walked past the beaded curtains and the room divider and saw Li Xianyun lying on the bed reading at a glance.

Her jet-black hair, gathered to the left, casually fell across her chest, revealing her exquisitely unbeatable profile.

Her two slender and straight legs swung leisurely, one above the other, in a relaxed and cozy manner.

Those two delicate white feet were strikingly tender.

Somehow, Yelu Yan found himself staring blankly until Li Xianyun turned a page, and only then did Yelu Yan come to his senses and step towards the bedstead.

Li Xianyun heard the noise, turned her head, and saw Yelu Yan walking over with a smile.

She climbed up from the bed and sat softly on the edge, smiling sweetly, "Husband, you’re back."

Her voice was gentle and pleasant to the ear, a melody better than the finest music to Yelu Yan.

"Mmm, I’m back," he said, approaching the bed with a stretch of his long arm, he picked her up into his embrace, sitting her on his lap.

Yelu Yan was filled with thoughts of nothing but Li Xianyun, gazing at her without blinking, his lips curling up into a broad smile, "Why aren’t you asleep yet? Waiting for me?"

Li Xianyun, slightly stunned, chuckled and nodded.

Yelu Yan knew she wasn’t really waiting for him, but he wasn’t annoyed. He kissed her blushing cheek, "What book are you reading?"

Li Xianyun made to reach for the book on the bed upon hearing his question, but someone caught her hand.

"I’d like to hear you talk about it," he said.

Yelu Yan wanted to listen to her talk, to snuggle up with her.

"It’s just a medical book, browsing casually in my free time," Li Xianyun said with a smile, looking at him, "Husband, have you had your meal?"

"Not yet, I came to find you as soon as I got back."

He had hastened back eagerly to see her after finishing his official duties at the Hall of Diligent Governance.

"Then I’ll have someone prepare your meal."

"No need for that, the maids will bring it to the inner chamber shortly, and I’ll eat here," he replied.

Li Xianyun nodded, noticing Yelu Yan staring intently at her.

She looked away, but could still see those fervent tiger eyes in her peripheral vision.

He wanted her again.

Li Xianyun could do nothing but look back openly, "Do you want a kiss?"

Seeing her clear and pure eyes, Yelu Yan’s smile deepened, "Mmm."

This woman was truly as adorable as one could be.

Li Xianyun’s face warmed, no longer as embarrassed as she had been in previous days.

She reached out her slender arms to gently wrap around Yelu Yan’s sturdy neck and slowly leaned in, her lips touching his, kissing him tenderly.

Yelu Yan’s rough hand encircled her slim waist, pulling her closer into his embrace, while his other hand cradled the back of her head. As she pecked lightly, he opened his lips wide and captured her soft, warm lips in his.

Li Xianyun’s body trembled, and she couldn’t help but let out a soft "mm."

His kiss was always so fervent and passionate, as if she were burning on a fire.

It left her breathless, her mind a blank slate with no other thoughts.

There was only surrender and silent acceptance.

...

Just when Li Xianyun had her eyes slightly closed, head tilted back, and was biting her lip in endurance, Zhuo Ma’s voice suddenly came from outside the door.

"Reporting to Khan, reporting to the Princess Consort, the meal is ready."

Li Xianyun panicked, hugging Yelu Yan’s head and pushing him away.

Yelu Yan had no choice but to lift his head, frowning deeply, his face showing an expression of being interrupted and unsatisfied.

Li Xianyun buttoned up her clothes, shyly burrowing into Yelu Yan’s embrace.

Yelu Yan held her in his arms and straightened her clothes a bit more.

Seeing that there was no movement outside, Li Xianyun quickly left Yelu Yan’s embrace, stretched out the thin quilt to cover herself, and turned away.

This series of actions was crisp and efficient, like flowing clouds and streaming water. It made Yelu Yan feel an itch in his heart, wanting to pull her back and shower her with his kisses.

But she was too shy, and certainly would not agree.

Yelu Yan gently placed his rough hand on her soft and lovely shoulder, leaning in to whisper, "Wait until after I have dined and bathed, then let’s continue."

What is this flirtatious man saying now?

Li Xianyun closed her eyes, her voice soft, "My lord, I want to sleep."

Yelu Yan chuckled, "You just need to lie down, and it’s okay if you fall asleep."

Li Xianyun gently bit her lip, kept silent, and pretended not to understand.

Yelu Yan placed a heavy kiss on the nape of her ear and then got up to straighten his clothes.

After getting dressed, Yelu Yan walked out from behind the large screen and said indifferently, "Come in."

Youlan and Zhuo Ma, knowing that there had been no sound from inside for a while, realized they had interrupted their master and Khan, their hearts pounding with a mix of embarrassment and fear of offending them.

Upon hearing Yelu Yan speak, the two entered with bowed heads, daring not to take another glance, quickly set down the meal, and hurried out.

Yelu Yan immediately noticed the plate of cabbage and tofu, his heart delighted, "Xianxian, did you specially stir-fry this cabbage and tofu for me?"

Li Xianyun’s pleasant voice drifted faintly through the screen and bead curtains, "Do you like it? If you like it, I’ll make it for you again tomorrow."

Yelu Yan laughed, "I like it."

Li Xianyun chuckled from the bed, "You haven’t even tasted it, how do you know you like it?"

"I like everything you make."

Li Xianyun smiled coyly; she had been testing him, and he had indeed expressed his liking without even tasting.

Yelu Yan hastily finished the meal and took a bath before climbing into Li Xianyun’s thin quilt.

By then, Li Xianyun had already fallen asleep, only feeling someone inside the quilt undressing her, not needing to guess who it was.

She hugged his head, still with her eyes closed, and whispered softly, "My lord, I am tired."

"Let’s sleep a little later, hmm?"

Li Xianyun could endure it at the start, until...

She suddenly frowned tightly, moaning softly.

Now she was completely unable to sleep.

Yelu Yan was like a hungry wolf, creating quite a commotion.

The next day, Li Xianyun got out of bed feeling out of sorts; she wanted to sleep in, but with the Eighth Month Festival tomorrow, there were many things to arrange, so she forced herself to get up.

Youlan and Zhuo Ma came in to serve her.

Li Xianyun felt limp all over, as if walking on clouds.

Sitting in front of the bronze mirror with her eyes closed, she said, "Youlan, I’m feeling weak today, you dress me."

"Yes."

Youlan blushed and walked over.

Li Xianyun suddenly realized how her wording could be misinterpreted, and opened her eyes to look at Youlan.

The young girl’s face was as red as a beet, and she moved her lips as if wanting to say something but eventually held back.

Anything she said now would be like the story of the silver found on the premises—denying it would only make things worse, so she decided to say nothing at all.
