Chapter 134: 134 Do you really care about my feelings? (first update)

Li Xianyun recoiled a bit upon hearing this. She dreaded travelling during her monthly period the most.

However, she quickly realized something was amiss and asked, "Khan, how do you know the road there is rough?"

Yelu Yan never seemed like someone who would care about such trivial matters.

Yelu Yan cleared his throat and said, "I have travelled the rural roads myself, and while they vary, they’re generally the same. One need not think too hard to know this."

Upon hearing this, Li Xianyun nodded and said, "Alright, then I’ll have someone send a message out later, telling them to wait and not to hurry."

Yelu Yan watched her and said with a smile, "That’s my good girl."

His tone and expression treated her as if she were a child.

Li Xianyun suppressed a smile, raised her hand to undo her bun, and her thick black hair cascaded down around her slender shoulders, making her look even more delicate and lovely.

She picked up a comb and was about to brush her hair when she suddenly remembered there was still someone beside her.

The tall and sturdy man was smiling at her, watching intently.

Being watched so directly while dressing up was somewhat embarrassing.

Li Xianyun chuckled lightly, placing the comb on her lap. She turned to look at Yelu Yan and asked with a smile, "Khan, didn’t you come back to get something?"

Alright, this young lady is trying to send me away, Yelu Yan said, "I haven’t had my meal yet, so after you get ready, let’s eat together."

Li Xianyun obediently responded with a "Mhm" and couldn’t help but wonder why Yelu Yan hadn’t eaten so late.

Yelu Yan glanced at her and stood up to walk toward the dining hall.

Li Xianyun combed her hair into a simple and neat style, changed into a light lotus-colored dress, and accompanied by Youlan and Zhuo Ma, came to the hall.

Yelu Yan was reading a book.

He was truly busy. If he wasn’t dealing with official duties, he was practicing swordplay or reading military and governance books, scheduling every day fully and methodically, extremely restrained and self-contained.

Unlike her, who would sleep till the sun was high in the sky and never short-change herself when it came to food and clothing.

Upon seeing Li Xianyun arrive, Yelu Yan looked at her with a smile curving at the corners of his mouth and said, "Come, sit down and eat."

He put the military book aside and moved the chair beside him slightly outwards.

Li Xianyun dutifully sat down next to him.

Perhaps because she had felt unwell the night before, Li Xianyun looked at the table full of dishes and found herself without any appetite.

Yelu Yan’s expression became serious, and he asked with a frown, "What’s wrong? Don’t you feel well?"

He always noticed her discomfort immediately.

Li Xianyun turned to look at the tall man beside her and said in a soft voice, "Khan, may your consort not eat? I’m not hungry."

Upon hearing this, Yelu Yan felt somewhat relieved, then said softly, "No, you’ve just recovered a bit. You must eat something; otherwise, it’s not good for your health. Be good."

"Oh."

Li Xianyun reluctantly picked up her chopsticks, yet she couldn’t bring herself to pick up any of the dishes.

The dishes were all made according to her tastes, light and simple, but she just couldn’t muster any appetite.

She looked again at Yelu Yan with a pitiful expression.

Yelu Yan couldn’t help but chuckle at the sight.

This woman truly had a thousand faces: seductive and coquettish by night, serene and gentle by day, meticulous in her tasks, carefree and joyful in her leisure, and now with a pitiful and forlorn look.

Each facet was like a little paw scratching at his heart, making it itch with fondness.

Yelu Yan cleared his throat and placed a bowl of mixed-grain porridge in front of Li Xianyun, saying, "Then at least drink your porridge. You can’t lose any more weight."

Li Xianyun cheerfully replied, "Thank you, Khan."

She picked up the spoon and lowered her head to eat, a tress of hair falling from the side of her ear.

Yelu Yan reached out to tuck the stray hair behind her ear, his rough fingertips brushing against her tender and fair earlobe.

Whenever they had a meal together, Yelu Yan always took great care of her, whether it was serving her food, handing her a handkerchief to wipe her hands, or tucking her falling hair behind her ear.

Accustomed to his care, Li Xianyun showed no sign of surprise or discomfort when he touched her ear while tucking away her hair.

Li Xianyun noticed that Yelu Yan had only taken a few bites and was not really eating, she looked up and asked him, "Khan, aren’t you eating?"

Yelu Yan passed her a handkerchief and said, "I’m not hungry, you eat up, the food is getting cold."

He had already had breakfast that morning and wasn’t hungry at all; he was just accompanying her because he was afraid she wouldn’t eat properly.

Li Xianyun hummed affirmatively and continued eating. When she glanced up, she saw Yelu Yan staring straight at her.

She raised her hand to touch her cheek and asked, "Khan, why are you staring at your concubine, is there something on my face?"

Yelu Yan laughed and said, "There’s nothing on your face, but I have been pondering one thing."

"What’s that?"

"What do you eat that could fatten you up?"

Li Xianyun chuckled, "Khan, are you raising your concubine as a little pig?"

Yelu Yan said with a smile, "That’s not entirely out of the question."

Li Xianyun glanced at him disapprovingly and laughed, "No way, your concubine does not want to be a little pig."

This young lady was truly adorable, and Yelu Yan couldn’t help but let out a low chuckle.

Yelu Yan said, "We won’t leave the palace today, just lie down and rest. If you get bored, I can call for the Princess Consort of the Sixth Prince and Xuanxuan to keep you company."

Li Xianyun shook her head and said, "Your concubine is not bored, I plan to draw out the Acupoint Map and explain it to the apprentices at the Imperial Medical Bureau."

"Your health comes first, do as much as you can manage, you understand?" Yelu Yan exhorted.

There was a hint of earnest concern in his voice.

Li Xianyun looked at Yelu Yan, initially finding him domineering and crude, but after getting to know him better, she realized he was very gentle and considerate, a good man.

Yelu Yan, seeing her gaze, asked with a smile, "You’re looking at me like that, is there something on my face?"

Li Xianyun covered her mouth and laughed, "Why are you copying your concubine?"

Yelu Yan laughed, "I am not copying you, it’s just a meeting of minds."

Li Xianyun pursed her lips in a smile and lowered her head to eat her porridge.

Yelu Yan, afraid of making her uncomfortable by staring, picked up a military book to read.

After eating a few spoonfuls of porridge, Li Xianyun looked over at Yelu Yan.

Yelu Yan put down his book, still leaning back in his chair, and smiled, "What is it? Go ahead and speak."

Li Xianyun, toying with her spoon by tapping it against the bottom of her bowl, said, "Khan, actually, there is something your concubine needs to confess to you."

"About the Grand Imperial Consort?" Yelu Yan looked at her and asked.

His tone was measured, revealing no hint of emotion.

"You knew already?" Li Xianyun asked.

Yelu Yan took a sip of tea and hummed an affirmation.

"The Grand Imperial Consort sent someone to tamper with the banquet food yesterday, so I added a little something to her meal. She must have had a stomachache all night. You’re not angry, are you?"

Yelu Yan looked at her and asked, "You care a lot about how I feel?"

His tiger-like eyes were deep, exuding an air of seriousness.
