Chapter 884: Chapter 605: The Emperor Learns of Xiao Jiu’s Origin and Is Shocked, Why Didn’t Mama Want Me Last Time?_2
"Are you pleased now?" Xiao Jinyu said mysteriously, "Father, I have something very, very important to tell you."
The Emperor chuckled, "What could be so important coming from you?"
"What do you mean by that, Father? I came here especially to tell you. If you don’t want to listen, I can just leave," Xiao Jinyu said, pretending to walk away, but the Emperor called him back, "You come back here. You’re getting bolder and bolder, can’t I even speak? I really don’t know who you got this temper from?"
Actually, the Emperor was well aware that Yuyu’s temperament was like the Empress’s.
Xiao Jinyu huffed, "If not like Father, then like Mother, who else could it be?"
The Emperor smiled and asked, "So, what is it?"
Xiao Jinyu didn’t beat around the bush, "Father, the Crown Princess is the daughter of the National Master."
The Emperor was stunned upon hearing this and looked up at his son, "What did you say?"
Xiao Jinyu repeated, "The Crown Princess is the daughter of the National Master of Nanzhao Country."
The Emperor asked in confusion, "Isn’t the Crown Princess from the Shen Family? How did she become the daughter of the National Master?"
Xiao Jinyu repeated the words of Ye Suhuan, "That’s right, the Crown Princess is not from the Shen Family."
"Who would have thought, the Crown Princess is actually the daughter of the National Master," the Emperor said and then burst into delighted laughter. The daughter of the National Master was not someone just anyone could marry. By some pleasant mistake, the Crown Prince had married her, who wouldn’t be happy?
Xiao Jinyu was no fool; of course, his father was so happy because the identity of the Crown Princess was much more noble than that of a princess.
"Father, the National Master is currently at the East Palace," Jinyu informed.
The smile on the Emperor’s face paused, "You’re saying the National Master has come?"
Xiao Jinyu nodded, "Yes, the National Master came along. He’s here to see his two grandchildren."
Angered, the Emperor responded, "Then why didn’t you say so earlier? The National Master has arrived, and I didn’t go to greet him; that’s utterly discourteous."
Xiao Jinyu replied, "Didn’t I come to tell you just now?"
"You should have said it as soon as you came in," the Emperor said, putting down the vermilion brush and getting up to stride out of the Imperial Study Room.
Xiao Jinyu shrugged; he could take credit for this, too.
When the Emperor arrived, Jun Moqing was sitting in front of the table drinking tea, enjoying his leisure days with a cup of tea, reading, and cultivating his mind and spirit.
Susu and Taotao were playing with a tiger-lion beast.
Chun Xi was bustling about in the kitchen today, excited beyond measure, wanting to prepare a sumptuous lunch for the Crown Princess.
Feng Wuyou came out of the inner room and saw Taotao and Susu attempting to climb on a tiger-lion beast. How could those two little short legs manage to climb it?
Dabai lay beside them, looking utterly dejected.
She’d just arrived when she saw the imperial carriage, stepping forward to salute, "Father, I wish you peace and safety."
The Emperor said with a smile, "Get up quickly. I heard the National Master has come, is that true?"
Jun Moqing had come openly; the Emperor was bound to find out sooner or later, so Feng Wuyou wasn’t surprised.
"Father, my dad is right there, drinking tea," she answered.
"I shall go and meet the National Master," the Emperor said, walking over.
Feng Wuyou instructed, "Little Guizi, go make tea."
"Yes, Master," Little Guizi deftly went to prepare the tea.
Feng Wuyou followed suit.
As the Emperor approached, he saw only a young man sitting at the table drinking tea, silently amazed at how youthful the National Master looked, with an ethereal bearing unmistakably his.
"National Master, forgive me for not welcoming you from afar," the Emperor said.
Jun Moqing looked up and saw the man dressed in the Dragon Robe. Even if he didn’t recognize him, he knew it was the Emperor of Daxia.
"You’re being too formal, Emperor. Please, sit down and have some tea," the National Master replied.
The Emperor smiled and sat down at the table.
When Susu and Taotao saw Grandfather Emperor, they stopped their climbing and ran over.
"Grandfather, Grandfather," Susu called, diving into the Emperor’s arms. When she looked up, her smile made her eyes crinkle into crescents, "Grandfather, I have a maternal grandfather."
Pointing at Jun Moqing, Taotao declared, "Grandfather, he is our maternal grandfather."
The Emperor took Susu into his arms and said with a smile, "Grandfather already knows."
He turned to Taotao and ruffled her hair, "Are you happy to see your maternal grandfather here?"
"Happy," Taotao ran to Jun Moqing and asked to be held, "Maternal grandfather, hug."
"Of course," Jun Moqing said, putting down his tea cup, bending down to pick up Taotao and then turning to the Emperor. After witnessing the recent interaction, it was clear that the Emperor was very fond of the two little ones, especially of Susu.
The Emperor spoke, "I just found out about the Crown Princess’s lineage; if I had known, I would have informed the National Master in advance."
