Chapter 677: Chapter 477: The Surge of Evil Objects_2
Sun Fei was right, the fire of this Double-headed Magical Wolf indeed posed some threat. If hit, even a Soul Realm Evolver might perish instantly. For these adventurers of average skill, this magical creature was akin to a BOSS-level existence.
But the next moment.
A cold flash swept by.
Blood sprayed out as the only remaining wolf head of the Double-headed Starved Wolf was severed from its neck and flew into the air. Its eyes widened in disbelief, as if not expecting its end to come so swiftly. Bereft of its two heads, the body of the magical wolf could no longer stand and collapsed to the ground with a thud.
At this moment, a silvery Sword Gang condensed upon Li Yi’s arm, with lightning flickering across its surface, exceptionally fierce.
"The Double-headed Magical Wolf was killed just like that?" Not just Sun Fei, but all other adventurers in the carriage were collectively stunned by the scene.
If they hadn’t witnessed it with their own eyes, they would find it hard to believe someone possessed the strength to achieve such a feat.
Yet, before Li Yi could ponder further, another magical creature attacked. This one resembled a Dead Soul Monster, wielding a scythe, draped in a tattered black cloak, yet its form was larger than a Death Monster, and its scythe longer. It aimed to reap Li Yi’s life in the darkness.
Li Yi raised his Sword Gang with one hand.
The sound of metal clashing echoed.
A powerful wave of energy swept forth.
"Impressive strength, but not enough. Die." Li Yi’s silver vertical pupils glowed. With his other hand, he pointed across the air, as a silver Gang Qi transformed into a Long Spear that pierced through the creature’s head, splitting the air.
The creature’s head immediately sported a new opening, yet it did not die. Instead, it disintegrated, transforming into over twenty smaller Dead Soul Monsters that charged back at Li Yi.
"A monster that requires a soul attack to kill?" Li Yi quickly discerned the nature of this creature.
Normal attacks couldn’t kill this ghostly type of creature; it required something that could affect the soul realm.
However, he did possess a weapon for attacking souls.
"Suppress!" Li Yi roared, forming a Fist Mark with his hand, unleashing his Fist Intent.
In a blur, his body transformed into the form of an angry Buddha, sitting sternly in the darkness, intimidating the fiends.
Under the force of the Fist Intent.
The twenty or so encroaching Dead Soul Monsters were instantly stupefied in mid-air, even other evil objects in the surrounding darkness were petrified by the Fist Intent, unable to move temporarily.
Taking advantage of this opportunity, Li Yi pulled out a colossal axe of an illusory hue.
The giant axe stood ten meters tall, a Netherworld Artifact once wielded by a Yin God of the Four Seas and Eight Continents, capable of severing a Martial Artist’s Divine Soul and harming an Evolver’s soul. Li Yi, finding it too cumbersome and unwieldy, had stored it within the Five Elements Bracelet, saving it for an extreme emergency. He hadn’t thought it would find a use in this world.
Li Yi’s hands glowed, executing his Guiding Skill, gathering the Cosmic Energy within his body to his hands, qualifying him to wield the Netherworld Artifact.
Simply wielding the massive axe, he immediately cleaved the Dead Soul Monster into two halves. Even approaching evil objects were affected, as they sustained soul injuries and collapsed with pained cries.
He resembled a child wielding the giant axe of a Spirit God, appearing somewhat comical yet possessing immense lethal power.
After several swings, the evil objects within ten meters were forcibly cleared away.
But just then.
Li Yi suddenly noticed his gigantic axe shrinking rapidly, transforming into a regular axe over two meters tall in no time, leaving him somewhat surprised.
Then he noticed Xuan Yuezi nearby, forming a Dharma Seal with his hands.
"Your weapon was too large; I helped resize it using Tianyi Sect’s Big and Small Ruyi Skill. When Tianyi Sect was defeated by the Imperial Court, they surrendered the Big and Small Ruyi Skill along with the River Flipping and Sea Overturning Skill. I was lucky to observe a thing or two, albeit my skills are crude, I can still manage some minor tricks." Xuan Yuezi explained.
"You managed to learn the Big and Small Ruyi Skill just by glancing? The Immortal has impressive skills." Li Yi was startled, as he possessed an authentic Big and Small Ruyi Skill within his Five Elements Bracelet, a Great Method difficult to master, which he hadn’t yet studied.
Xuan Yuezi smiled faintly and said: "I have dealt with Tianyi Sect for years, am quite familiar with the Big and Small Ruyi Skill, just lack the spell method and approach. If I could see it, learning it wouldn’t be hard."
"Then, Immortal, you must take a good look next time, so you can guide me in cultivating the Big and Small Ruyi Skill." Li Yi’s heart was instantly moved.
Not learning such a spell would truly be a waste.
During the brief exchange, a more formidable monster emerged from the darkness, its body covered in decay, wielding a greatsword, astride an equally decomposed battle horse, closing in like a black lightning streak.
The sword in its hand swung down instantly, its force overwhelming, seemingly entangled with numerous Vengeful Ghosts, emitting a piercing shriek that left people’s minds dazed.
But such a level of disturbance couldn’t shake Li Yi’s spirit.
The illusory great axe in his hand became enveloped in silvery Gang Qi, intertwining with streaks of lightning, transforming the previously non-corporeal great axe into a battle axe shimmering with silver light, edged and immensely powerful.
He raised his hand for a direct clash.
The formidable force immediately severed the eerie sword, with residual power continuing to decapitate the Rotten Knight.
The decayed warhorse neighed, sensing dread and a fatal threat, it unhesitatingly threw off the headless corpse on its back and turned, fleeing into the surrounding darkness.
At this moment, Sun Fei and the other passengers were stunned into silence.
Whether it was the Double-headed Magical Wolf, the Death Fiend Monster, or the Rotten Knight just now, all were terrifying magical creatures. Yet they consecutively fell at the hands of this man, without one being able to withstand his attacks.
Had this person’s power reached a level where he could ignore the darkness entirely?
"Quick, out of the carriage, let’s follow that hero to take refuge in the nearest building." The person who had previously rallied everyone immediately shifted directions, deciding to no longer staunchly defend the carriage, instead opting to follow Li Yi’s lead.
He believed doing so would increase his chances of survival.
"Charge, follow the Giant Axe Hero!" someone shouted excitedly.
Sun Fei also left the carriage, following the path Li Yi cleared.
Li Yi, however, paid them no mind, wielding his silver battle axe, breaking through the darkness, advancing upon the corpses of magical creatures.
In just a brief moment, he had already slain over a dozen formidable magical creatures.
But he knew the dangers lurking in the darkness were far from over.
Suddenly.
Li Yi’s soul gave a warning.
The next moment, with a glance from his silver vertical pupils, he cast his gaze into a deep corner of the dark.
The next second, a slit tore open in the dark, faint flickers of firelight appearing beyond it, and, illuminated by that firelight, came a towering Skull Monster clad in blood-red armor, with a black cape draped over its frame, striding forward with a treasure sword on its back. The sword was adorned with a massive ruby, appearing exceedingly opulent.
Moreover, the Skull Monster wore a golden crown, resembling a king, commanding respect from other evil objects wherever it passed.
Its appearance sent the adventurers prepared to exit the carriage into a state of horror, making them halt swiftly, afraid to step out of the train.
"Wa-wait, that monster resembles the legendary Undying Sword King, no, could it be, such a legendary creature has appeared?" an adventurer seemed to recognize the creature, exclaiming immediately.
And Sun Fei, who had stepped off the train, was trembling all over. He had heard tales of the Undying Sword King since childhood, a creature said to be able to cleave a building in half with a single strike, even sever the saintly corpses within.
Yet they were but mere tales.
No one had ever seen the Undying Sword King, though the legend of its existence persisted in this world.
"Truly formidable." Li Yi’s expression grew somber.
A creature that warranted his soul’s warning signaled it possessed the power to kill him.
But what the true result would be, only battle would reveal.
