Chapter 625: Chapter 445: A Cross-Boundary Opportunity

On the second day of building the city, Li Yi instructed everyone to descend from Taiyi Palace atop the mountain. Each was to choose a place to settle down and make a home. He then distributed all the living supplies from his Storage Magical Artifact to the crowd, sparing no effort, even generously sharing the golden nutrient fluid. After all, until their lives were stabilized, these revered cultivation elders still needed support.

By the fifth day.

Li Yi announced his intention to hold a meeting at Taiyi Palace, inviting all the Tri-Floral Realm experts to attend.

When the news broke, everyone living in the city felt an inexplicable sense of excitement and joy in their hearts, as if some grand, momentous event was on the horizon.

Thus, early that morning, all the once-Tri-Floral Realm cultivators began ascending the steps to the summit, assembling at Taiyi Palace.

Even the likes of the once-renowned Immortal Xiang Xiangzi, Xuan Yuezi, and Divine Lady Yun Feizi adorned themselves meticulously before presenting themselves within Taiyi Palace.

Li Yi was seated alone in the vast, empty hall. Before him, dozens of meditation cushions were neatly arranged. Once everyone had arrived, he directed them to take their seats one by one. Upon counting, there were forty-nine Tri-Floral Realm experts who had followed him to the treasure court.

Including him, there were precisely fifty people in the hall.

Xiang Xiangzi, Xuan Yuezi, Yun Feizi, Tu Daoist, Wu the Taoist, Nun Liu, and the toothless old Daoist sat in the front row. The other cultivation experts followed in succession. The atmosphere was solemn; no one dared speak carelessly or show levity.

Once everyone was seated, Li Yi waved his hand, and the large doors of the palace shut tightly.

"Taiyi, you’ve gathered us here today. May we know what matter you wish to discuss?" Formerly of the Heavenly Dao Sect, Divine Lady Yun Feizi stood, gave a slight bow, and asked.

Li Yi’s silver eyes shimmered faintly in the hall as he swept his gaze across the crowd. He then said, "Esteemed elders, I presume that by now, you might already have some guesses in your hearts. I went to such great lengths to gather all the Tri-Floral Realm cultivation experts here and bring you to this treasure court. It was not merely to find a new place to live."

"As for the new method of cultivation, while you all may have some desire to comprehend it, you should be clear that in the End of Dharma, even a new method cannot grant eternal life. At best, it could restore some of your strength, ensuring you aren’t oppressed by ordinary people."

"Taiyi, speak plainly. We who came to this Tao Court during the End of Dharma have already prepared for the possibility of death. We understand that there’s no hope of returning to the Tao Court in this lifetime. However, the other day, I sensed the Dao opportunity and followed its guidance. I am willing to gamble this broken body of mine one more time. Whatever you require of me, I will not hesitate," spoke an elderly Daoist in a frail voice.

His life span neared its end. Following Li Yi was an all-or-nothing gamble.

If no change occurred, he would have no choice but to await his death in the city.

Others nodded in agreement.

"I, too, have sensed it. Taiyi’s efforts to take us to a faraway land and build a city in such a secluded place cannot merely be about teaching new methods or avoiding calamity. Taiyi, ever since the day I followed you, I was ready to entrust my remaining life into your hands. Whatever needs to be done, I will do so without regret," said a destitute Daoist, his patched Daoist robe swaying as he spoke gravely.

The Immortals of the Heavenly Dao Sect remained silent, yet their luminous gazes rested on Li Yi.

They had been the first to sense the Dao opportunity and understood that Li Yi held the key to reshaping their destiny. They firmly believed that as long as they followed him, there would be a chance for change. When Li Yi proposed leaving the Tao Court, they had instantly packed up their disciples and relocated without hesitation. After all they had experienced, their faith was unshakable.

Especially Xiang Xiangzi and Tu Daoist. Having seen the Seven-Colored Stone in Li Yi’s possession, they understood that even in the End of Dharma, Li Yi had a chance to attain enlightenment.

Now, the fate of all cultivators lay with Li Yi.

If they didn’t follow him, were they to stay in the Tao Court and await their deaths?

Li Yi said no more and continued, "Esteemed cultivation elders, you should know that with the arrival of the End of Dharma, Daoist skills have vanished. This is the inevitable trend, and no one can change it. While there are still some cultivators with lingering mana, it cannot withstand the erosion of time. Eventually, their mana will deplete, and they will perish."

"You all know in your hearts that this world is no longer suitable for cultivation. Staying here will invariably lead to death."

"Indeed, that’s true," Tu Daoist muttered after a pause.

The other cultivators nodded in agreement, fully aware of this harsh reality.

Changing his tone, Li Yi continued, "Since spiritual energy has vanished from this world and cultivation is hopeless, why not leave this world and head to a realm abundant in spiritual energy? There, you could re-cultivate the Dao and ascend once more."

"Taiyi, are you suggesting going to the Celestial Beyond? Could spiritual energy still exist there for cultivation to continue?" Xiang Xiangzi’s eyes gleamed as she promptly asked, "I’ve heard that when the End of Dharma came, Enlightened beings sensed it and immediately fled to the Celestial Beyond with many Tri-Floral Realm experts and their sect disciples, seeking hope and preserving their legacies."

"The Heavenly Dao Sect also had a Supreme Elder take some disciples to the Celestial Beyond. However, after the spiritual energy vanished, heaven and earth became cut off. No one knows the current state of the Celestial Beyond."

Everyone exchanged glances, their expressions shifting as they turned toward Li Yi.

If traveling to the Celestial Beyond were possible, it might be a sound idea.

But Li Yi shook his head. "No, I am not suggesting going to the Celestial Beyond. I propose opening a Cross-border Gate to another world—one where spiritual energy is abundant and calamities frequent. There, you can re-cultivate the Dao, reopen the path to the Tri-Floral Realm, and even pass down your legacies and establish your sects."

Crossing worlds?

The hall fell silent as every cultivator was stunned.

Moments later, however, new ideas began rushing into their minds.

Indeed.

If this world had reached the End of Dharma with no way forward, why not try another world?

Wait—another world?

They pinpointed the crux of the issue, and new doubts began to surface. If alternative worlds existed, why hadn’t they been discovered before? This world’s cultivators were many; Enlightened beings, plentiful. Every Cave Heaven Blessed Land, Celestial Beyond, ancient relic, Immortal Cave Mansion—they had all been thoroughly explored already.

Experts at the Tri-Floral Realm were hardly novices. They had vast knowledge and experience, capable of sensing opportunities and calculating their fortunes. To them, this world contained no secrets.

Understanding their skepticism, Li Yi explained further, "I am not of this world’s cultivation lineage. This, Senior Tu and the Immortals here, should already know. I do not practice Daoist skills but instead cultivate Martial Arts. The reason I came to this world was because I opened the Cross-border Gate. Since I was able to open the gate once to come here, naturally, I can open it a second time to leave this world and bring others along."

"So, Taiyi, you’re saying you will lead us to another world with abundant spiritual energy, where we can begin cultivating anew?" pressed Xiang Xiangzi, unable to contain her excitement.

Everyone else was similarly moved, their eyes brimming with anticipation.

If true, there was no need to linger in this world. Without spiritual energy and with no prospect of eternal life, staying here would only lead to death.

"I-Is this true? Taiyi, can you truly take us to another realm where we can continue our cultivation?" Wu the Taoist trembled, finally understanding why the Dao opportunity had always circled around Li Yi.

It was because he wasn’t of this world and possessed the Cross-border Technique. He could take these people of the Dharma Decline World to another realm to reignite their vitality and restart their pursuit of the Dao.

"If we could travel to another world for cultivation, it would be an unparalleled opportunity!"

A Daoist rose abruptly from his mat, pacing back and forth with an air of excitement, breaking into occasional bursts of laughter. He was endlessly relieved that he had followed along—those who hadn’t would likely regret it deeply if they learned the truth.

"So that’s it. Crossing worlds for cultivation. This is unprecedented."

The elderly Daoist slapped his thigh in realization, his excitement uncontainable.

At that moment, all the Tri-Floral Realm experts finally understood.

Although Li Yi hadn’t intended to reveal the Cross-border matter so soon, he knew he couldn’t remain in this world any longer. If he stayed, his resources would run dry, and his strength would deteriorate. He had to leave before his resources were spent, return to Earth, and move forward. He had achieved his goals in this realm, and now it was time to go.

However, before departing, he needed to bring a few Tri-Floral Realm experts along.

If it had to be discussed, it was best to do so openly. These cultivation elders weren’t easy to deceive; using underhanded schemes would only backfire. Only sincerity could win them over.

Moreover, once they crossed worlds and their strength was restored, they wouldn’t be as restricted. If they felt betrayed, they might turn on him first. Thus, Li Yi treated these cultivation elders with respect, not slighting them for their current weakened state but instead showing them as much goodwill as possible.

Still, with great risk came great opportunity.

Li Yi had no better option if he wanted to bring powerful individuals back as allies. Earth now desperately needed top-tier experts to hold the line.

"Taiyi, when do you plan to open the Cross-border Gate? I will leave with you." At this moment, Xiang Xiangzi, overcome with eagerness, spoke while throwing herself toward Li Yi.

"Count me in as well."

"I, too, wish to venture to a new realm. There’s no spiritual energy left here, and cultivation is hopeless. Only by leaving can we seek new opportunities."

"Though I am old, I still have one more fight left in me. Taiyi, take me along. So long as you help me reopen the path to the Tri-Floral Realm, I’ll do anything you ask."

One by one, the cultivators, unwilling to be left behind, surged toward Li Yi, each pledging their allegiance with unreserved fervor to follow him through the Cross-border Gate. Many swore oaths, offering their loyalty and service to him without hesitation.

Li Yi’s eyelid twitched. He hadn’t expected these elders to be so impassioned. Instinctively, his first thought was to use the Cloud Riding Technique to escape.

But a hand grabbed onto his.

Turning to look, he saw Divine Lady Yun Feizi. Her cheeks were tinged red, and her eyes pleaded with him, silently begging not to be left behind.

Even the ever-cold Xuan Yuezi had somehow reached out to clutch the corner of his robe, gazing at him with pitiful, imploring eyes.

As for the bold Xiang Xiangzi, she outright leaped toward him like a ravenous wolf.

Well then.

It seemed no one intended to let him off easily.

Left with no choice, Li Yi activated the Cloud Riding Technique.

His form blurred and dissipated into a thick mist, scattering in all directions. The crowd lunged forward, only to clutch at emptiness.

Soon after, Li Yi’s figure reassembled amid the floating mist on the other side of the hall.

"Esteemed elders, please calm yourselves. This matter requires careful deliberation. Cross-world cultivation is no trivial affair. Let us plan everything thoroughly before proceeding," Li Yi’s voice echoed ethereally as his figure shifted like vapor, impossible to pin down.
