Chapter 586: Chapter 418: Insidious Tactics

In fact, Li Yi still had several boxes of Life Extending Pills in his Storage Magical Artifact. These had been contributed by the Four Great Families back when he was in the Four Seas and Eight Continents. If he took them out now, Taixian Weng might even be willing to compensate him with his underpants. However, Li Yi knew that the Seven-Colored Stone was already the limit—if he presented any other treasures, Taixian Weng might slap him to death on the spot.

He placed everything into the Storage Magical Artifact.

Li Yi cupped his hands in salute, then immediately began to walk down from the Magic Battle Platform.

He could sense, however, that on the other side of the platform, the cultivators from the Xuanxian Continent were all staring daggers at him, their eyes filled with murderous intent, as though they wanted to cut him into a thousand pieces.

Taixian Weng maintained his benevolent smile, his kind-looking face unchanged. He silently watched Li Yi’s figure retreat, and before long, his form began to fade, eventually vanishing from the platform.

Although he had been outmaneuvered, Taixian Weng could only grit his teeth and endure.

But with the disappearance of this Divinity Transformation Realm expert, the cultivators couldn’t hold back any longer.

"You killed Lin Caiyi, and now you want to leave? Li Yi, stop right there! I demand a duel to the death with you!" At that moment, a wood Daoist leapt into the air, heading straight for the Magic Battle Platform and shouting furiously in challenge.

This served both as a way to vent everyone’s frustration and, more importantly, as a chance to claim Li Yi’s riches.

Li Yi had just walked away with all the Spiritual Artifacts from Lin Caiyi and even managed to earn a Low Grade Treasure. For a mere Evolver without even Golden Core strength to possess such wealth was akin to putting a target on his back. If they weren’t within the Golden Academy, the Golden Core cultivators would have already resorted to the Xuanxian Continent’s staple tradition:

Kill and plunder.

"What qualifications do you have? A penniless rogue Daoist dares to challenge me? Step aside!" Li Yi shouted back without a shred of politeness.

The wood Daoist paused in shock, his face suddenly turning crimson. He hadn’t expected Li Yi to directly insult him for being poor—and worse still, he couldn’t refute it. Incensed, he bellowed, "You’ve gone too far! I won’t rest until one of us is dead!"

Li Yi snorted dismissively and refused to engage. "Come back when you’ve accumulated some wealth."

By this point, having exposed all his trump cards, Li Yi knew that anyone willing to challenge him now must have confidence in defeating him. He wasn’t foolish enough to go for a second round.

"Li Yi, if you have any integrity, fight me! What skill is there in bullying a woman? Leave your weapons behind, I won’t use mine either. Let’s have a fair duel!" a young Foundation Establishment Cultivator called out in challenge.

"You’re too young, and your physique too fragile. You won’t stand more than a few punches from me. Go back and train for a few years," Li Yi refused coldly.

"Despicable scoundrel! I’ll wager Taixian Weng’s Glazed Golden Light Mirror with my life—do you dare to accept?" Another Foundation Establishment Stage cultivator shouted.

Without even glancing back, Li Yi replied, "No. I’m feeling fatigued today and plan to go home to sleep."

One after another, the Foundation Establishment cultivators issued challenges, hoping to recover their losses, but Li Yi stubbornly refused to engage.

The Golden Core cultivators, on the other hand, looked sour-faced and seething.

Even Taixian Weng had been tricked by Li Yi, so how could they fare any better? If this matter wasn’t handled properly, Taixian Weng might even come back to settle scores with them. After all, losing a Low Grade Treasure because of their interference—there was no way Taixian Weng wasn’t furious.

"That Li Yi’s a scoundrel—he kills Lin Caiyi and won’t fight any more battles. Obviously, he just wants to take the loot and run off, leaving us no chance to win back the treasures."

"Shall I use the Purple Cloud Divine Thunder to smite him? We’ll just claim he got divine retribution, and it had nothing to do with us."

"I’m skilled in Escape Techniques. Tonight, I’ll sneak into his room and assassinate him. With my abilities, he won’t even get the chance to cry for help."

The Golden Core cultivators began exchanging secret Divine Sense messages, plotting ways to kill Li Yi and reclaim the spoils.

They weren’t saints—anything was worth doing if the rewards were high enough. Besides, killing and plundering was commonplace in the Xuanxian Continent.

Still, although they had murderous intent, for now, they could only stand by and watch Li Yi leave.

If Taixian Weng hadn’t acted earlier, it was unlikely anyone else would dare make a move outright. After all, Taixian Weng had been forced to surrender the Glazed Golden Light mirror—if anyone dared to intervene now, it would only make him angrier, creating even larger repercussions. Any action had to be carefully planned and flawlessly executed, lest the situation spiral out of control.

Amidst this tense atmosphere, Li Yi quickly made his escape.

He knew he couldn’t stay in the Golden Academy any longer—or even on Earth. Thankfully, he had already resolved the matters in Tianchang City, sending his friends and family to the Four Seas and Eight Continents, so there were no lingering concerns. The next step was to flee to another world, and the sooner, the better.

"I’ll leave tonight. I’m worried these Xuanxian World cultivators will resort to underhanded tactics against me," Li Yi thought to himself.

For now, he was assured that they wouldn’t act in the immediate term—they wouldn’t dare offend Taixian Weng so overtly.

Very quickly.

Li Yi returned to his Cultivation House alone. He believed that with two damaged Miracles and a Seven-Colored Stone in his possession, he could open a cross-border gate by himself. The prerequisite, however, was owning a cross-border machine, so he immediately opened the Academy Marketplace to check if such machines were available for purchase.

Last time, Di Zhu’an mentioned that Golden Academy’s tech department had incorporated Sixth World technology and was already researching personal cross-border machines.

"Is it for sale? Excellent."

Li Yi’s eyes lit up as he spotted a new item in the marketplace.

Personal Cross-Border Machine: Price 50,000.

The description featured a pyramid-shaped device, roughly three meters tall and compact in size. At its center was an energy emitter, while its three corners contained grooves designed for placing damaged Miracles. This meant that at least three damaged Miracles were required to activate the machine—any fewer, and the energy wouldn’t suffice to open the cross-border gate.

Li Yi happened to have three items: the damaged Sword Coin, a fractured bone, and the Seven-Colored Stone.

"I’ll buy it."

Without hesitation, he spent 50,000 points from his account to purchase the machine.

"Preparing shipment. Please wait patiently..." The Academy’s artificial intelligence rang out in a robotic voice.

Breathing a small sigh of relief at this point, Li Yi knew he only had to wait for delivery. Once the machine arrived, he could open the cross-border gate and leave, avoiding this web of trouble. Once he’d grown stronger, he planned to return to settle his scores. Seeing the remaining 50,000 points in his account, he decided to spend those as well—saving was meaningless in this situation.

He browsed the other items for sale.

Eventually, his eyes landed on a newly listed aircraft.

The blue-and-white design was strikingly familiar—this was none other than the Thunderbolt Fighter he had used previously. After Golden Academy’s collaboration with the Sixth World, all major resources had been made available, including Thunderbolt Fighters, Life Repair Cabins, Genetic Potions, and Combat Weapons.

"It’s 30,000 points per unit. I only have enough for one."

After deliberating briefly, Li Yi decided to purchase a Thunderbolt Fighter.

Although its combat capabilities were somewhat lacking, it remained a great transportation tool. At full speed, the Thunderbolt Fighter could outrun any danger, including a Golden Core cultivator’s Flying Sword. Moreover, the aircraft featured stealth capabilities and could hover for extended periods in the air, making it a convenient temporary cultivation area.

The fighter’s limited carrying capacity wasn’t ideal, but for a lone wanderer like Li Yi, it worked perfectly.

With 20,000 points left, Li Yi used them to buy some Transcendent Nutrients and a few sets of Nano Metal Suits. These suits, products of the Sixth World, allowed for customizable style changes and repairs through nanotechnology. Though they offered little defense, they ensured Li Yi never had to buy clothes again.

After this spree, his 100,000 points were completely spent.

During the wait for his purchases to arrive, Li Yi began examining the Spiritual Artifacts he had obtained.

The first was the Spirit Beast Token.

"Let me figure out how to use Spiritual Artifacts from the Xuanxian World. Lan Ji, are you there?" Li Yi called out.

Although the fourth-generation AI assistant Lan Ji had been placed in Tianchang City, its advanced capabilities allowed it to infiltrate Li Yi’s Cultivation House and other devices effortlessly.

"Yes, Master, I am here," Lan Ji’s sweet voice responded from the Cultivation House speakers.

"Access the Golden Academy database and download information on the Xuanxian Continent," Li Yi ordered.

"Understood, Master," Lan Ji replied cheerfully, promptly retrieving and downloading the requested information.

Golden Academy had long since uploaded foundational information about the Xuanxian Continent to assist its students in understanding the cultivators. The Xuanxian World residents had openly shared basic information as well—what a Foundation Establishment Cultivator could access was hardly considered classified knowledge, and Golden Academy could have obtained it regardless.

Soon.

With Lan Ji’s help, Li Yi grasped the basics of utilizing Spiritual Artifacts.

"Blood-binding? How’s that any different from gene-coded binding in the Sixth World? Authoritarian tech always gets on my nerves," he grumbled sarcastically.

Dripping silver-speckled blood onto the Spirit Beast Token.

However, his blood didn’t absorb—instead, it slid off the jade-like token and fell to the ground.

Li Yi furrowed his brow in confusion. "This Spirit Beast Token already has an owner?"

Lan Ji had already provided an overview of cultivation basics—if a Spiritual Artifact had an owner, it couldn’t be bound again unless its previous owner was killed or their trace Divine Thought was destroyed.

"These Xuanxian Continent cultivators are truly treacherous—giving me a Spirit Beast Token without severing their connection. How blatantly shameless can they get?"

Li Yi couldn’t help but curse.

Destroying the Divine Thought of a Golden Core cultivator embedded in the token—how was he supposed to accomplish that?

If left intact, the token could lose control at any moment and return to its original owner. It was akin to owning a car, but someone else holding the remote key—unwatched, it could be gone in a blink.

"Not just the Spirit Beast Token. That Low Grade Treasure, the Glazed Mysterious Light Gold, also contains a trace of Taixian Weng’s Primordial Spirit Power. The moment you dare use it, Taixian Weng can seize control, killing you instantly. Once you’re dead, the treasure will automatically select Taixian Weng as its rightful master and return to him," the Sword Coin’s residual remnant suddenly warned coldly.

"What? You’re kidding!" Li Yi’s eyes widened.

The remnant snickered. "You actually dared to take a Divinity Transformation Cultivator’s Treasure. Old-timer, I admire your reckless courage—the less you know, the bolder you become."
