Chapter 56: The Nonexistent Person Chapter 45

From Lin Yue’s words before she went into meditation, it was evident that she had initiated the cultivation of inspiration.

Above the Spirit Medium Realm is the inspiration realm.

This is another significant characteristic after the body of a cultivator evolves.

Once inspiration is initiated, cultivators can sense everything around them even with their eyes closed, detecting any slight movement nearby, while their reaction speed also undergoes a qualitative improvement.

And there’s more.

Cultivators can sense some unknown presences.

You should know that even having become a Spirit Medium doesn’t mean you can fully see the world clearly; sometimes, feeling is more important than seeing.

Very soon.

Lin Yue entered the meditation state.

She began to sense the cosmic energy around her.

Compared to other places, the cosmic energy in Li Yi’s house had not increased noticeably; here, the effects of cultivation were the same as anywhere else.

"Expand the range of perception, maybe I haven’t found the correct point."

Lin Yue thought this to herself.

Her perception spread out invisibly in all directions, and in her mind, she could see outlines of the surrounding objects.

She sensed the ground, the walls, and Li Yi.

But in her perception, Li Yi appeared only as a humanoid silhouette, as if something was interfering and preventing Lin Yue from clearly distinguishing his features.

This is normal.

Because the human body has its own biological magnetic field.

Since Li Yi had cultivated, his biological magnetic field was stronger, which could interfere with the perception of those in the inspiration realm, and even stronger cultivators or extraordinary creatures, capable of generating their own energy fields, make it impossible to sense anything hidden within these energy fields.

"No discoveries, could it be that my judgment was wrong, and the issue isn’t in Li Yi’s house?"

Such a thought flashed through Lin Yue’s mind.

But she didn’t consider the possibility of a Mysterious Object.

After all, Mysterious Objects were too rare and precious; Li Yi was just an ordinary cultivator, how could he possibly possess a Mysterious Object? That would be utterly preposterous.

Yet at that moment.

Suddenly.

Lin Yue, still in meditation, experienced a shock that made the hairs on her body instantly stand on end.

Oh God.

What was that?

In Lin Yue’s perception, apart from Li Yi, another humanoid silhouette had appeared, standing motionless in a corner of the living room.

But how could that be?

There were supposed to be just Li Yi and she in the house.

No, not right.

There were also Li Yi’s parents.

Only, Li Yi’s parents were the Silent Ones, always lying in the medical pods in a deep sleep.

Could it be that Li Yi’s parents had awakened?

That must be it.

Lin Yue immediately felt somewhat calmer but decided to check by coming out of meditation immediately and waking up.

"How did it go, any discoveries?" Li Yi asked from the side.

"Li Yi, wait a moment," Lin Yue immediately turned her head and looked towards the direction of the humanoid silhouette she had sensed.

This glance made Lin Yue’s pupils contract sharply, revealing a horrified expression on the face of a cultivator who had initiated inspiration.

Because in her line of sight, there was no one in that direction.

Just an empty space.

"How can this be, how is it possible? There was clearly someone there in my perception..." Lin Yue suddenly stood up, wanting to go there and touch that spot.

But an inexplicable fear made her stop involuntarily.

"Sister Lin, are you okay?" Li Yi was curious at this point, sensing that something was off with Lin Yue.

Lin Yue suddenly grabbed Li Yi and said, "Li Yi, you said your parents are Silent Ones, right?"

"Yes, that’s right. Why? Isn’t that common knowledge?" Li Yi was puzzled: "I remember telling you last time."

"Which room are your parents in? Can you take me to see?" Lin Yue asked again.

"Alright." Li Yi was still somewhat confused but took Lin Yue to his parents’ room nonetheless.

The room was bright and tidy, with two medical pods neatly placed on the floor.

Within the medical pod, a man and a woman lay.

These were Li Yi’s parents.

Lin Yue watched the changing expressions on the faces of the two elders in the medical pods and realized that Li Yi’s parents had never awakened from the beginning. They couldn’t have suddenly left the room and appeared in her perception earlier.

If it wasn’t Li Yi’s parents, then who was the person she had sensed?

After realizing this, Lin Yue’s unease grew stronger.

"Li Yi, are you usually alone at home?" she abruptly withdrew her gaze and turned towards Li Yi.

In a Spirit Medium’s vision, everything in Li Yi’s house appeared normal. Lin Yue couldn’t detect anything unusual.

"Of course, I live alone in another room. Why? Sister Lin, you’ve seemed a bit off since you woke up from meditation. Are you feeling uncomfortable?" Li Yi asked.

Lin Yue then asked, "Recently, no, during the period you’ve been living alone at home, has anything unusual happened?"

"No." Li Yi shook his head: "I’ve been working every day, and I sleep when I return. There’s been nothing unusual happening. Sister Lin, if you want to know something, you can just ask me directly. I’ll definitely answer you. You’re making me nervously anxious without knowing why."

"Wait a moment, I need to meditate again. Stay beside me, and if there’s anything unusual about me, wake me up immediately," Lin Yue took a deep breath at that moment.

She now suspected that besides Li Yi’s comatose parents, there was another person hidden in the house.

Or perhaps, it wasn’t a person at all.

Either way, Lin Yue needed to find out the reason. If there was any danger, she would immediately leave the place with Li Yi and his parents.

"Okay, I’ll keep watch around you. Don’t worry," Li Yi nodded.

Upon hearing this, Lin Yue took a deep breath, sat down on the adjacent bed, and closed her eyes to meditate and perceive everything around her.

Soon.

Her inspiration was spreading.

Lin Yue perceived the bed beneath her, Li Yi’s father in the medical pod, and Li Yi standing beside her... Everything was normal, which proved that her spiritual perception was functioning correctly. The earlier occurrence wasn’t a hallucination; it was real.

However, when her perception spread to another medical pod.

Something bizarre occurred.

The pod belonging to Li Yi’s mother was eerily empty in her perception, as if no one was inside.

"No, this can’t be," Lin Yue was stunned at that moment.

She was confused now. She had seen with her own eyes that Li Yi’s mother was lying in the pod, asleep. But why, why was there no one in the pod according to her perception?

Should she trust her eyes, or her spiritual perception?

Just as she was contemplating this.

Suddenly.

The unknown humanoid silhouette appeared again in her inspiration.

It was in the direction of the door.

The previously immobile humanoid silhouette was now slowly moving towards her room.

And the closer it got, the more fear Lin Yue felt.

Because her spiritual perception felt constricted, unable to spread further, and her consciousness was locked by that terrifying human silhouette. She suddenly couldn’t awaken from the meditation.

Moreover, the entity had entered the room and was getting ever closer.

The silhouette passed next to Li Yi in her perception.

Their energy fields intersected.

However, Li Yi seemed unaware and showed no reaction.

"Is it coming for me?" Lin Yue broke out in a cold sweat, struggling intensely, trying to break free from some control and wake up from the meditation.

But it was to no avail.

Her body had lost sensation, and it seemed her consciousness had been captured.

"Is it going to kill me?" Lin Yue thought frantically.

But at that moment, suddenly, she heard Li Yi’s voice next to her ear, "Sister Lin, Sister Lin, wake up..."

This voice seemed to stop the dreadful humanoid silhouette.

Simultaneously, the lock on her consciousness was lifted.

Suddenly.

Lin Yue awoke from her meditation, like a person gasping for air after nearly drowning, her eyes wide open, breathing heavily, her entire body drenched with sweat.

"Li Yi, hurry, we need to leave this place,"

Having regained clarity, Lin Yue still hadn’t calmed her nerves. She seized Li Yi’s arm and immediately pulled him toward the door.

"Wait, Sister Lin, wait, what’s going on..."

The puzzled Li Yi was dragged out of the house by Lin Yue.

And even after they left the house, Lin Yue didn’t let go. She kept pulling Li Yi down the stairs, out of the residential area, until they had crossed two or three streets and finally stopped at a busy intersection.
