Chapter 510: Chapter 361: Pouring One’s Heart Out

He did not know how long he had been unconscious.

The very moment Li Yi regained consciousness, he felt an intense pain all over his body, as if all his bones had been smashed to pieces, and even moving was a struggle. Opening his eyes, he realized he was lying in a dimly lit stone house, which was dilapidated and emitted a foul smell, seemingly a place used for keeping livestock.

"Where am I?"

A question flashed through Li Yi’s mind, but then he remembered. He, along with Jiang Mingtian, Hu Fei, and Zhao Fangji, had gone deep into the hazardous zone to pick silver peculiar fruits and stumbled into a crossover point where they were attacked by a group of... savages. Although he had managed to defeat one, he was no match for their leader and was knocked out by a punch.

He just didn’t know how many days he had been out cold.

Struggling to sit up, it was then that Li Yi realized he had lost everything he had on him. His Transcendent armor was gone, the Fei Mu Needle at his waist was missing, and even his storage Magic Artifact, along with the Incomplete Coins he carried, were all gone.

It seemed that during his unconsciousness, he had been searched, and everything, except for the clothes on his body, had been taken away.

This realization immediately darkened Li Yi’s expression.

"Was it that man named Ju Jiao who took it? This is troubling. Losing the storage Magic Artifact means losing everything. Moreover, without a life restoration pod, my injuries won’t heal anytime soon."

He now realized the severity of the situation.

But soon, Li Yi calmed down. At least he was still alive and had not died, which meant the situation hadn’t reached the worst possible outcome. If they had wanted to kill him, they would have done so while he was unconscious and not waited for him to wake up in this stone house.

With that thought, Li Yi endured the pain in his body and stood up, walking towards the outside of the stone house.

When he found the outside and faced the light, he was immediately stunned.

This place turned out to be a village.

All around were houses built of stone, forming a large circle, with a round open space in the middle. In the center of this space stood an ancient tree with a crown so lush that it looked like a canopy. He didn’t know the species of the tree, but it bore many fruits that looked like silver peculiar fruits, yet they were vermillion red and emitted a red glow, equally mystical.

Li Yi took one look and guessed that these red peculiar fruits belonged to the same species as the silver ones, only with different effects.

In the open space near the big tree, numerous children dressed in animal-hide clothes were playing with a ball made from old vines, laughing and frolicking. Occasionally, some muscular villagers would pass by, giving Li Yi curious glances.

"Is this the village of that man named Ju Jiao?" Li Yi frowned and looked up at the sky.

But what he saw in the distance were two tall mountains reaching into the clouds, which were familiar to him. They were the mountain valleys where he had previously used the thunder battle machine to pick the peculiar fruits.

It seemed that this village was not too far from that valley, and if he could get there, he might be able to leave this place and return to Earth Prison.

Only...

Before that, Li Yi needed to retrieve his possessions.

Just as he was looking around, suddenly, a short-haired woman wearing a leather armor and carrying a short dagger at her waist approached him with determined steps. Her gaze was stern as she looked at Li Yi with caution, "Outlander, the High Priest has tasked me to keep an eye on you and forbidden you to roam around. You’d better go back to your own house. Although you defeated Lie Shi, that doesn’t mean you have earned my respect. By intruding into the sacred burial ground of the deities, you almost brought destruction upon our village."

"What is this place?" Li Yi asked directly.

"This is Shoushan Village, and my name is Shanguo; I am a warrior of Shoushan Village," the woman named Shanguo said.

Li Yi replied, "You’ve taken my possessions, which doesn’t seem like something a warrior would do."

"You were captured by us and are our prey, we have the right to dispose of you, including your belongings. You should feel lucky that you’re still alive. If it weren’t for the High Priest, your heads would’ve been chopped off and offered to the heavens by now. You should be grateful to us. Among those captured, you’ve received the best treatment. The others are locked in dungeons, and some have already suggested to the High Priest to sell you as slaves to the city to reduce the village’s food consumption," Shanguo said straightforwardly.

"Your point is well made. So, if I were to capture you, would I also have the right to dispose of you?" Li Yi said.

Shanguo snorted, "Rest assured, that will never happen. Iron Foot has said your physical condition is very poor, and it’s already a miracle if you can survive. To think of fighting, you need to wait at least a month, and before your injuries heal, the High Priest will decide how to dispose of you."

"Some things are uncertain," Li Yi said calmly. "I have a suggestion. I wonder if you would be willing to relay it to your High Priest."

"What suggestion?" Shanguo asked.

Li Yi said, "Return my belongings to me, let us leave this place, and I can offer you a substantial compensation. Whether it’s food, martial skills, or cultivation methods, you just need to ask for it. I guarantee you won’t be disappointed. If you choose to imprison me or to sell me as a slave, I assure you that you’ll regret it."

But just as he finished speaking,

Suddenly, an arrow flew out from not far away.

Li Yi’s soul gave him a premonition of danger, but his injured body couldn’t dodge in time.

An arrow shot into his shoulder, without enough force to pierce through his body, but the momentum still caused his battered form to involuntarily retreat, eventually stumbling and falling to the ground.

"Bastard, what did you say just now? You are merely prey captured by our Shoushan Village, with no right to make any demands. Shanguo, step back a bit; I want to teach this guy a lesson, make him understand the might of Shoushan Village," a young voice sounded as three teenagers, around fifteen or sixteen years old, armed with strong bows, approached fiercely.

They looked at Li Yi with dissatisfaction, ready to draw their bows and shoot again.

Shanguo stepped in: "Zhu Huan, don’t be reckless. The chief has said that this man is a powerful warrior and must not be humiliated. The High Priest is still considering how to deal with them. Without clear orders, you cannot break the rules of the village."

The youngster named Zhu Huan replied with an arrogant face: "I’m not humiliating him. Since he is a warrior, I will challenge him as one. Hey, the guy over there, do you dare to fight me?"

At this moment, Li Yi struggled to his feet again. He glanced at the arrow in his shoulder, endured the intense pain to pull it out, and casually tossed it on the ground. Then he stared at the few teenagers in front of him and said calmly: "You are no match for me. A duel with me would mean a miserable death. Want to challenge me? Go suckle milk for a few more years and then come back."

"What did you say?"

Zhu Huan flew into a rage, feeling deeply insulted. Before he could act, the other two youngsters beside him, faces flushed with anger, drew their bows and fired.

Two arrows flew out in an instant, aiming directly for Li Yi’s vital points.

Li Yi’s soul gave him a premonition; he didn’t dodge but shifted his body slightly to avoid the lethal spots. Yet, he was still hit. The arrows lodged in his body, blocked by his sturdy bones, were not shot through.

Still bearing the excruciating pain, he slowly removed the arrows and said: "Is attacking an injured person all that Shoushan Village’s warriors can do?"

"I never said you couldn’t fight back, and here, as long as you can stand, it means you still have the strength to fight. Unless you’re lying on the ground, I’ll not stop my bow and arrows," Zhu Huan stated.

"Then at least return the things you robbed from me. My weapons are among them," Li Yi said.

"Your belongings are with the High Priest. I can’t get them back. Shanguo, hand him your dagger. I want to fight him fairly," Zhu Huan declared.

Shanguo hesitated for a moment but eventually drew the short dagger from her belt and tossed it in front of Li Yi: "If you still consider yourself a warrior, accept this fight. But be careful, if you die in the duel, not even the High Priest will say anything."

"What a truly barbaric village, where fists make the rules, and strength means everything. Good, I like it here," Li Yi said, looking at the dagger on the ground with a trace of a smile: "But I’m not used to using such things. I prefer my fists."

"And you’re right about one thing. A warrior cannot be humiliated. If your savagery tries to subdue me, I will use cruelty to show you what civilization means."

Zhu Huan, still fuming, said, "Are you done talking? Now that you have a weapon, can we start the fight?"

"Fight?"

Li Yi burst into laughter: "A kid who hasn’t grown all his hair discussing a fight with me? You’d better call your chief, but before that, let me take you down myself."

With these words, he suddenly let out a long howl, then his heart thudded like a heavy drum.

The strong heartbeat reverberated, and a fearsome surge of Qi-Blood rushed through his body in an instant.

Li Yi’s aura leapt from his previous dejection to absolute peak, and even beyond his prime.

He could no longer tolerate being shot at by a few little brats with bows like a target, could not endure being captured and stripped of everything, reduced to slavery or beheaded for sacrifice. Since he could still control his own fate, he shouldn’t be compromising or cringing.

"I’ve brought forth the heart blood to return to my peak. Let’s fight."

Like a ferocious beast awakening, Li Yi let out a deafening roar, his eyes glowing red as if they were emitting red light, with an aura of murderous intent reaching the ultimate pinnacle.

The wrath of a Martial Artist from the Four Seas and Eight Continents, it appears after all.

Li Yi never thought he would resort to using his heart blood, but once his understanding of boxing solidified, the Martial Artist’s temperament deep in his soul remained unchangeable.

"You..." In that moment, Shanguo’s face drastically changed.

She could not have imagined that someone so gravely injured and near death could regain full strength and reach the peak within just a few breaths.

It should be noted that this man had actually managed to defeat the strong warrior of the village, Ju Jiao.

It would have been one thing if he remained critically injured, but now...

"Zhu Huan, Iron Foot, Lie Shi, you three, run! I’ll hold him off," Shanguo suddenly cried out in panic, urging the three young men to hurry away.

The situation had become uncontrollable at this point.
