522: Chapter 521 Taking Care of Business 522: Chapter 521 Taking Care of Business Damn, over a hundred and fifty years old!
Hasn’t that become the immortal old man!
“Don’t you dare insult the Leader,” Hua Shi Yi frowned.
“Hua Shi Yi, where is my room?
I can’t seem to find it,” Tong Tong asked, confused, as she appeared in front of the two, rubbing her head.
“Leader, I’ll take you there right now,” Hua Shi Yi said.
After nodding at Wang Dadong, Hua Shi Yi took Little Loli, the Leader, to find her room.
Seeing Little Loli’s confused expression, Wang Dadong felt a bit of sympathy.
But sometimes, living like a child isn’t necessarily a bad thing.
After all, the more you know, the more you think about, the more troubles you have.
Living such a simple life can also be a blessing.
Just as Wang Dadong was about to find a place to rest, Liu Tong ran over anxiously.
“What’s wrong?” Wang Dadong asked.
“Xia, Sister Xia is missing.”
“What happened?”
“I was going to have a meal with Sister Xia, and she went to the bathroom halfway through, then…
she disappeared,” said Liu Tong with a quivering voice.
“Don’t worry, she should be alright; let’s go search…”
…
In a brightly lit room.
Xia Yun opened her eyes to find herself bound to an iron column.
Attempting to use Inner Strength to break the ropes, she discovered that she could not harness even a sliver of it.
Xia Yun looked around and saw there were several such iron columns in the room; some people were tied to each, some were awake, and others were still unconscious, both men and women.
The room was filled with a host of instruments and equipment, and two people in white lab coats and masks were busy working at a computer.
She had just gone to use the restroom, and while sitting on the toilet, she was suddenly shocked by an electric jolt, and upon waking up, she found herself here.
“Who are you?
Let me go immediately!” Xia Yun shouted at the two people.
They turned to look at Xia Yun and smiled, “Don’t be in such a hurry, we’ll release you soon enough.”
“How’s the progress now?”
“Subject number forty-nine has completed the implantation of the control device; we just need to inject the Return Potion now,” they discussed amongst themselves.
What control device, what Return Potion—Xia Yun couldn’t understand a word.
“Subject number fifty is also ready; we can begin implanting the control device,” one of the lab coats said.
The other nodded and then took out an injection that was as thick as a child’s arm, with a needle as thick as a pencil lead.
With the syringe in hand, one of the lab coats approached a person tied to the column, presumably the so-called subject number fifty.
“No, please, I beg of you, don’t do it!” The person screamed upon seeing the syringe.
However, the lab coats paid no heed, as one held the person down while the other inserted the syringe into the nape of the person’s neck.
The needle, over an inch long, was fully inserted.
As the liquid was injected, the person gradually quieted down.
After a few minutes, the person completely stopped responding, as if dead.
The lab coat returned to the computer and typed a few keystrokes.
The other lab coat let down the person who had been injected with the potion; the person stood there like a puppet.
“Proceed with voice control testing.”
“Walk forward.”
The person immediately walked forward.
“Get down!”
The person immediately got down.
Following several orders in a row, the person complied with each one.
Suddenly, the person’s body started to convulse and then foam came from the mouth.
A few minutes later, the person stopped moving entirely.
A man in a white lab coat checked and frowned, “Dead.”
“It seems the Liquid State controller still needs improvement, the mortality rate is too high, but no worries, thankfully we have ‘Return’.”
The man in the white lab coat then picked up a syringe and injected the already deceased person.
To everyone’s surprise, the dead person came back to life.
Xia Yun watched this scene unfold before her, shivering with fear.
Whether it was the controller or the resurrection of the dead, both were beyond Xia Yun’s understanding.
In the subsequent period, the man in the white lab coat repeated the process, injecting another person tied to a pillar with the controller.
It still failed, but after injecting another potion called ‘Return’, the person who had died came back to life again.
Thinking that she might face the same outcome, Xia Yun felt utterly desperate.
She wished someone would come to save her, but would anyone come?
And Liu Tong, could she have been captured too?
The more she thought, the more desperate Xia Yun felt.
Just as the two men in white lab coats were about to inject her, the walkie-talkie on the table suddenly rang.
“How are the Death Warriors from this batch doing?” a voice came from the walkie-talkie.
“Um, just one more to go,” the man in the white lab coat replied into the walkie-talkie.
“Stop what you’re doing and come to me.”
The man in the white lab coat about to inject Xia Yun with the controller set down the syringe, and the two left the room together.
With the men gone, Xia Yun felt as if all her strength had drained away, and her whole body slumped.
No, I can’t just sit here and wait for death!
Xia Yun struggled with all her might.
But for some reason, her Inner Strength simply wouldn’t work at this moment, and she felt extremely weak.
Even though she was only tied up with ordinary rope, she couldn’t break free.
“Nothing yet?” Liu Tong looked at Wang Dadong with hope.
Wang Dadong shook his head, “I’ve searched through every splint and everywhere on the second layer.”
Liu Tong burst into tears upon hearing this, “Sister Xia couldn’t have met with an accident, could she?”
Wang Dadong didn’t know what to do; before they came here, all their electronic devices had been confiscated.
And even if they had their phones, there would be no signal on the high seas.
This ship was so vast that even if Xia Yun was on board, they might not be able to find her, and if she was no longer on the ship by now…
Wang Dadong didn’t dare to continue the thought.
“Tong Tong, you go back to your room and rest.
Don’t come out for anything; I’ll keep searching for Xia Yun.”
Wang Dadong escorted Liu Tong back to her hotel room and after double-checking for any potential dangers, he then left.
“Have you seen a woman about 1.7 meters tall, dressed in a black leather jacket and leather pants?”
Wang Dadong had no choice but to resort to asking people, the most basic method of searching for Xia Yun.
However, there were too many people on the ship, and after asking dozens, no one had seen her.
“I’ve seen her.” Just when Wang Dadong asked the hundredth person, a scantily clad woman said she had seen Xia Yun.
Wang Dadong immediately showed a look of joy, “Where is she?”
But the woman pressed her entire body against Wang Dadong and whispered into his ear, “Handsome…”
