Chapter 379 - 379 378 I Need a Girlfriend
379: Chapter 378 I Need a Girlfriend 379: Chapter 378 I Need a Girlfriend Wang Dadong’s words once again caused a huge uproar.
You see, the antiques trade is a deep pool, and even for those who immerse themselves in this field year-round, they wouldn’t boast with certainty that their judgments are always correct.
Wang Dadong actually said that everyone present could appraise it—wasn’t that a bit too boastful?
“Then do tell us, how do you appraise it?” the vase owner asked with a sneer.
“It’s quite simple.
Who here has a magnifying glass?” Wang Dadong scanned the cabin’s attendees with a smile.
“I have one right here,” a passenger brought out a magnifying glass.
Wang Dadong passed the ceramic fragment over, “Then take a look, what does it say on this fragment?”
The passenger studied the fragment under the magnifying glass.
After a long while, he said, “I can vaguely make out a ‘green’ character.”
“See?
This is genuine Song dynasty blue and white porcelain!” the vase owner declared triumphantly.
After another moment, the passenger continued, “There are other characters; they’re hard to decipher.”
After saying that, he took out another magnifying glass from his bag and layered it on top of the first to look again.
“Green—Do—Not—Place—In—Microwave,” the passenger read aloud, word by word.
“I’ve got it, it’s not ‘green,’ it’s ‘please.’ It’s just too blurry at the beginning to see clearly,” the passenger said excitedly.
Wang Dadong looked at everyone with a grin, “Now do you see why I said this thing is only worth ten bucks?”
The value of an antique comes naturally from its ancient character.
The words on this ceramic piece, ‘Please do not place in a microwave,’ needless to say, made it clear that the vase was definitely modern.
A modern small vase, of course, is only worth ten bucks.
“No, that can’t be, you must have read it wrong!” the vase owner said in disbelief.
“I’m a diamond appraiser, would I read it wrong?
If you don’t believe it, take a look for yourselves!” The passenger then passed the ceramic fragment and the magnifying glass around for everyone to see.
“It really does say ‘Please do not place in microwave.'”
At this point, Wang Dadong took out a crumpled twenty-dollar bill from his pocket and stuffed it into the hands of the dumbfounded vase owner, and magnanimously said, “All I have is a twenty, so keep the change.”
After personally verifying the words on the vase, the owner sat down on the stool, dumbstruck, “Ah, my antique!
My million dollars!”
And so, the incident passed.
Naturally, Shen Chuyao was the happiest person.
Initially thinking she would have to compensate a million dollars, she had not expected the vase to be a fake, worth merely ten bucks.
However, those words required ordinary people to overlay two magnifying glasses to see clearly, so how had he seen it?
“I really owe you one,” Shen Chuyao said to Wang Dadong with a face full of gratitude.
Hmm, she hadn’t expected someone who looked like a migrant worker to be so capable, really giving her a big hand.
Otherwise, she had no idea how today would have ended!
She suddenly found Wang Dadong not so annoying anymore, yet Wang Dadong was wickedly eyeing Shen Chuyao, “I helped you compensate for the vase, shouldn’t you repay me in some way?”
Shen Chuyao was taken aback, her good feelings instantly collapsed; was he seriously expecting to be repaid for just twenty bucks?
This guy was really hard to read, one moment enigmatic, and the next like a petty street hustler.
Still, Shen Chuyao was quite grateful to Wang Dadong; after all, of the many people on the plane, only Wang Dadong was willing to stand up for her.
“You… just say what you need.
If it’s within my power, I’ll try to help,” Shen Chuyao whispered.
“Really?
I’m in need of a girlfriend right now; help me find one,” Wang Dadong said with an excited look.
“This…” Shen Chuyao was flabbergasted, not having expected Wang Dadong to make such a shamelessly direct request.
Find you a girlfriend, where am I supposed to find one for you?
“I was just kidding, give me a Coke, will you?
I’m dying of thirst,” Wang Dadong sat back down in his seat.
“Okay.”
Soon, Shen Chuyao brought Wang Dadong a cup of Coke.
“By the way, beautiful, I never asked your name?” Wang Dadong asked while sipping his Coke.
“Oh, my name is Shen Chuyao, and you?”
“Shen Chuyao, that’s a nice name.
I’m Wang Dadong.”
The two chatted for a little while, getting along famously, with Wang Dadong cracking the occasional risqué joke, which left Shen Chuyao blushing profusely.
With the company of a beautiful flight attendant, the journey suddenly didn’t seem so lonely.
After spending some time together, Shen Chuyao realized that despite Wang Dadong’s slovenly and lecherous appearance, he actually knew quite a lot.
Quickly, three hours passed, and the airplane had reached international waters.
The cabin had quieted down, and many people had started to sleep.
Wang Dadong felt an urgent need to urinate, mainly because Shen Chuyao kept pouring him various drinks while they were talking.
He arrived at the airplane restroom only to find the door was closed.
In the middle of the night, he hadn’t expected someone to be inside.
Wang Dadong was not in a hurry, so he lit a cigarette and leaned against the door to smoke.
After smoking half a cigarette, Shen Chuyao came over as well.
“What a coincidence, you need to use the bathroom too?” Wang Dadong said with a smile.
Shen Chuyao nodded.
“Then you’ll have to wait; someone’s in there,” Wang Dadong shrugged.
Just then, a strange noise came from the airplane restroom.
“Huh, what’s that sound?” Wang Dadong curiously asked.
“It’s nothing, let’s just wait somewhere else,” Shen Chuyao’s cheeks turned red instantly, as if she was no stranger to the noise.
“Where shall we go?”
“How about my rest area?”
“Sure,” With a beautiful lady extending the invitation, Wang Dadong naturally didn’t hold back.
Calling it a rest area was a bit of a stretch; it was actually a very small room.
Apart from a single bed and a small TV on the wall, there was barely anything else in it.
“You, um, just sit wherever,” Shen Chuyao realized that she probably should not have invited Wang Dadong to her rest area, after all, there wasn’t much space besides the bed.
Here they were, a man and a woman alone in the same room…
Wang Dadong, however, didn’t hesitate at all and directly sat down on the bed.
“Wow, so this is where flight attendants rest, huh?
I’ve never been here before,” Wang Dadong’s gaze curiously swept around the room.
To the average person, the flight attendant’s rest area was considered a sacred place.
It was just a pity that it wasn’t anything special.
“Um, I’ll go pour you a glass of water,” Feeling the awkward atmosphere, Shen Chuyao got up.
Wang Dadong was about to tell Shen Chuyao not to bother, since he was already about to burst and didn’t need to drink anything else.
But then, it seemed like the plane hit a strong air current, causing violent turbulence.
Shen Chuyao, who had just stood up, immediately lost her balance.
