The Personal Bodyguard of the Female CEO
Chapter 300 - 300 299 The Carefree Little Witch

300: Chapter 299 The Carefree Little Witch 300: Chapter 299 The Carefree Little Witch The female CEO also had her own moments of helplessness.

After all, she was just a person, not divine.

She too had times when her spirit was willing, but her strength was not.

As a leader, no one wants their subordinates to be diligent and avoid any underhand tactics.

However, reality isn’t like that, since professional roles and power invariably lead to instances of people using their authority for personal gain.

It was not just the production department—similar situations were rife in the sales, procurement, and public relations departments—and even the human resources department wasn’t exempt.

Lu Feng, as the head of the production department at Shiyan Group, made a clean million a year under the table, which was considered modest.

For a publicly traded company like Shiyan, the grey income from the sales and procurement departments was even more sizeable, possibly amounting to tens of millions annually.

But for a big company worth several billion, such sums were negligible.

Therefore, in the interest of maintaining stability within the company, the higher-ups generally turned a blind eye to such matters.

It was only if you went too far or were reported by someone that a serious investigation would be undertaken.

Wang Dadong didn’t say much more, perhaps because he saw things too simply.

After all, managing an assassin organization and managing a corporation were two different things entirely.

Many issues involved the interests of a lot of people, and touching the interests of one could very likely drag in many more.

Simply firing the head of the production department was a matter of a single sentence for the CEO.

Yet, actually doing so would have far-reaching consequences.

And Su Ying, having just taken on the role of Vice CEO, was eager to prove herself.

When Lu Feng happened into her crosshairs, she wanted to take the opportunity to make an example of him to cement her position.

However, she was just appointed and lacked the bigger picture perspective of Lin Shiyan, totally unaware of the consequences her minor actions might trigger.

“By the way, there’s something I need to report to the wife.” Wang Dadong didn’t want to dwell on that topic.

Being a female CEO was busy enough at work.

Now that she was away from the office, she might as well not think about those troublesome matters.

“What is it?”

“You know, Shishi is too naive and doesn’t think things through before acting.

I’m afraid she might be taken advantage of, so I hoped to hire a martial arts instructor for her, to teach her some self-defense, and incidentally, to protect her.

But it might mean having the instructor live with us…”

Lin Shiyan nodded, “That’s a good idea.

Just let me know how much it will cost, and I will take care of it.”

Wang Dadong was stunned.

He hadn’t expected the female CEO to agree so easily, making all the persuasive arguments he had prepared in his head redundant.

Seeing Wang Dadong hesitate, the female CEO suddenly frowned, “A female instructor?”

“Uh…”

Wang Dadong hadn’t answered, but the female CEO already knew the answer.

She just glanced at him lightly and then turned her head away, apparently not very interested in the matter.

Wang Dadong was a bit frustrated, feeling it would have been better if Lin Shiyan had thrown a small tantrum or scolded him.

But instead, she just looked at him and said nothing.

It was like he was all set for an argument, ready to be “beaten up” by Lin Shiyan, but she paid him no mind, which was frustratingly unsettling.

Half an hour later, the Lamborghini rolled into the villa’s garage.

Upon returning home, Soya was already asleep in Lin Shir’s room.

Ling Shir, the little witch, was still sitting in the living room playing video games, in her loose pajamas, one shoulder exposed.

She was squatting on the couch without any sense of decorum, casually stretching her legs in a slovenly manner.

“Shishi, can you please mind your image?” Lin Shiyan said with a headache.

Doesn’t this girl realize there’s a man in the house?

“What’s to be afraid of, there’s no one else here.” Lin Shir didn’t even lift her head, still engrossed in her game.

“Your brother-in-law is here!”

“Ah?

Is brother-in-law here?” Lin Shir suddenly became flustered, swiftly getting up from the couch and pulling her pajama top up to cover her snow-white shoulders.

Lin Shiyan finally breathed a sigh of relief.

But just as she turned around, Lin Shir scampered over to Wang Dadong in her slippers, wrapped her arms around his, and cooed, “Brother-in-law, please help me with this game level, I just can’t beat it.”

Lin Shiyan was somewhat exasperated and batted her head, wondering if it had been the right decision to let Lin Shir stay at the villa.

Soon the two of them were playing games, with Wang Dadong at the controls and Lin Shir perched behind him on the chair, their intimacy resembling that of a couple rather than the youngest aunt and a brother-in-law.

Tired, Lin Shiyan decided not to bother with them anymore.

She needed to have a serious talk with that scoundrel later.

After her bath, the female CEO quickly fell asleep.

Before, she would suffer from insomnia for a while, but today, she drifted off easily.

All thanks to Wang Dadong’s rough massage.

Time flies when playing games, and in the blink of an eye, it was two o’clock in the morning.

Lin Shir yawned lazily.

“Shishi, let’s stop here for today, I’m feeling a bit sleepy and want to go to bed,” Wang Dadong said.

Thinking of Wang Dadong having to work tomorrow, Lin Shir didn’t persist and let him go.

After taking his bath, Wang Dadong went to bed.

Lying down for less than ten minutes, he suddenly felt a touch and opened his eyes to find Lin Shir standing by the bed.

“Shishi, what are you doing?”

“I’m here to sleep,” Lin Shir yawned.

Wang Dadong was startled and quickly turned on the light, saying, “Why don’t you go to your sister’s room?

Why come to mine?”

“My sister is probably asleep by now, and I don’t want to wake her.

Hey, why are you being so chatty?” Lin Shir looked at him with a flicker of impatience.

Wang Dadong didn’t want to argue, but if Lin Shiyan found out, wouldn’t that be the end of him?
