Chapter 1127: Chapter 1125 Visiting Little Hui Sister’s Home
“Little Hui Sister, anything going on?” Wang Dadong asked on the phone.
“Brother Wang, didn’t I invite you for dinner this weekend? How could you forget?” Zhou Hui’s voice sounded a little disgruntled over the phone.
“Uh, no, no, I just have a bit of work on my hands. What time?” Wang Dadong said, a bit embarrassed.
A few days ago, Zhou Hui had indeed given him a small note inviting him for dinner this weekend, and he had completely forgotten about it.
“Now, at your place? Okay, I’ll be right over.” Wang Dadong agreed readily.
It had been several months since he last left Little Hui Sister’s house, and he wondered why she suddenly wanted to invite him for a meal, and at her home no less.
But Wang Dadong didn’t think much of it. After all, Little Hui Sister was a very frugal person and rarely dined out.
Of course, he couldn’t go empty-handed, he naturally had to buy some gifts.
Wang Dadong remembered that there was a market not far from Zhou Hui’s house where they seemed to sell fruits, so he decided to buy some fruit.
According to his memory, Wang Dadong arrived at Zhou Hui’s house.
Knock, knock, knock!
Wang Dadong knocked on the door.
After about a few seconds, Wang Dadong heard the sound of light running, it seemed that Little Hui Sister couldn’t wait to see him.
But when the door opened, Wang Dadong was taken aback because the person who opened the door wasn’t Zhou Hui, but a woman he didn’t recognize.
To be precise, it was an auntie.
“Uh, sorry, I think I might have knocked on the wrong door.” Wang Dadong said, scratching his head.
“Is Brother Wang here?” Just as Wang Dadong was about to turn around, he heard a voice from inside the house.
He looked back to see Zhou Hui, wearing an apron, coming out from inside the house.
“Who is this?” Wang Dadong asked, somewhat confused.
“This is my mom.” Zhou Hui introduced with a smile.
“Oh, hello Aunty.” Wang Dadong greeted the middle-aged auntie with a smile. Inside, though, he was feeling a bit annoyed. Why didn’t Little Hui Sister mention her mom was coming? Had he known earlier, he would have prepared better. Now, he just showed up with some fruit.
“Come in.” The auntie glanced at the stuff in Wang Dadong’s hand, not showing much expression, and said blandly.
Wang Dadong didn’t mind much, handing over the fruit he had brought, saying, “Aunty, I didn’t know you were coming, so I just bought some fruit. I hope you don’t mind.”
“Just put it on the table.” Zhou Hui’s mom didn’t take the fruit from Wang Dadong, but said so.
Zhou Hui quickly took the fruit, smiled sweetly at Wang Dadong, and said, “Brother Wang, please have a seat.”
Wang Dadong entered the house and then sat on the sofa.
“Brother Wang, you can chat with my mom while I go make dinner.” Zhou Hui said to Wang Dadong and then went into the kitchen.
“You’re Wang Dadong?” As soon as Zhou Hui went into the kitchen, Zhou Hui’s mom started to ask.
“Yes.” Wang Dadong nodded, it seemed Zhou Hui must have mentioned him to her mom.
“I heard you were a security guard at Shiyan?”
“I was, not anymore…”
“It’s okay, do you own a house?” Zhou Hui’s mom interrupted Wang Dadong before he could finish speaking.
Wang Dadong’s expression changed slightly; what was going on? From the look of Zhou Hui’s mom, it seemed a bit like a mother-in-law questioning a prospective son-in-law.
But he quickly understood, after all, he was a man, Zhou Hui invited him over for dinner, and still at her house, it’s normal to be misunderstood.
“No.” Wang Dadong answered honestly, without offering more explanation. After all, the more you try to explain something like this, the less clear it becomes.
Upon hearing Wang Dadong’s answer, Zhou Hui’s mom slightly frowned, continuing to ask, “Do you own a car?”
“No, I don’t either.”
Zhou Hui’s mom looked even more displeased and didn’t continue questioning.
Because there was no point in asking further.
After that, Zhou Hui’s mom stopped paying attention to Wang Dadong and turned on the TV.
This went on until someone knocked on the door.
Upon hearing the knock, Zhou Hui’s mom got up immediately to answer the door.
“Aunty, let me get that.” Wang Dadong said.
Zhou Hui’s mom wasn’t appreciative and went to open the door herself.
The door opened to a young man standing there in a business suit, his hair slicked back, with arms full of gifts.
“Ah, Wenhua, come in, come in!” Zhou Hui’s mom instantly changed her expression from cold to enthusiastic as she welcomed the young man.
“Aunt Wu, these are gifts I bought for you.” The young man lifted the big and small bags in his hands.
“Oh, no need for gifts, just your presence is enough. Huihui will finish cooking soon, come in quickly.” Zhou Hui’s mom said with a smile on her face.
The two of them entered, and the gifts almost covered the table, forming a sharp contrast with the fruits Wang Dadong had brought.
“Brother Wang, have you been waiting long? Dinner will be ready soon.” Just at that moment, Zhou Hui came out carrying a dish.
Seeing the young man, she frowned slightly and said, “Why are you here?”
“What do you mean why am I here? This is your cousin Wenhua, hurry and greet your cousin!” Zhou Hui’s mom glared at Zhou Hui and then smiled at the young man, “Wenhua, don’t mind her, it might be because you haven’t seen each other for a long time, she’s just shy.”
Mei Wenhua, Zhou Hui’s cousin, not very close, and they don’t meet often.
“Cousin…” Zhou Hui greeted blandly.
“Haha, cousin, long time no see, you’re getting prettier.” Mei Wenhua said with a laugh.
Zhou Hui didn’t respond, she set down the dish and went back into the kitchen.
Clearly, Zhou Hui’s mom was fond of this man named Mei Wenhua, constantly fussing over him, asking if he wanted to drink water or eat fruit.
In contrast, Wang Dadong, ever since he entered, had only exchanged a few words with them, now more like a stone placed to the side.
After quite a while, Mei Wenhua finally glanced at Wang Dadong and asked, “Aunty, who is this?”
“Oh, he’s Huihui’s colleague, a security guard named Wang Dadong.” Zhou Hui’s mom responded nonchalantly, deliberately emphasizing the word security guard.
“I see, he’s cousin’s colleague. Do you have any business here?” Mei Wenhua said.
It’s fair to say Mei Wenhua was quite the cunning fox; when he asked Wang Dadong if he had any business, he wasn’t really asking if Wang Dadong had something to do. He was implying that if Wang Dadong had nothing to do, he might as well leave.
Wang Dadong naturally understood what Mei Wenhua meant, but he had no intention of getting up, calmly saying, “Little Hui invited me for dinner.”
“Oh, is that so? I’ve heard Aunt Wu mention you, that you helped Little Hui in a fight once. Really, Xie Xie.” Mei Wenhua said with a smile to Wang Dadong.
