Chapter 102: Chapter 102 - Gestalt Like Forces Thralled With Each Other

With her finger touching the Yecine’s lips, her Ogre Physique started to unravel her control of her hormones. The final words she meant to speak lost their hypnotic quality, replaced by the monotone of her true voice. Yet, it didn’t engage the one listening any less than before - her pigeon blues staring downward, unblinking.

"But even in that death, they give birth to new wonders. The heavy elements and dense essence forged in their cores are scattered across the cosmos along with that light. These seed new worlds and bring new life. Even the violence of their passing can jumpstart the formation of young stars."

The magnificence of so much new progress - even through the eventual end of a lifetime of growth and effort - was displayed in supercuts of her observations of nearby galaxies. Each rebirth paralleled the path of cultivation itself... accumulation towards an ultimate end that leaves an effect on the universe, one way or another.

The thought struck Elua, that perhaps these studies might have led to her losing some of her strong attachment to survival in her final years.

’Not to say that I wanted death, but I wasn’t upset enough at failing the ascension. Well... knowing it led to meeting my ’fortress’ it is hard to even regret, if so.’

"However, there is one final potential outcome of the death of a massive star. If the remaining core is still too heavy, the gravity of its mass won’t just leave a cooling remnant. It collapses further, seemingly infinitely, into a point in space where gravity is so strong that not even light can escape its pull."

The ancient cultivator had never dared get too close, even as a Demi-God, but she could easily see with tools from afar. The small bride shared memories of luminous, swirling hot gasses around that near Divinity mass of Gravity Essence... feeding and brushing into each other at ever increasing pressure and velocity. Knowing that their two Elements had this sort of ’intimate’ relationship in the greater cosmos...

’This does NOT help me right now!’

Elua’s spirit roared at her own body, growing fed up with its urges. Begging for it to quiet down so that she didn’t do something she would regret, when her husband-wife next kissed her. That very person watched and felt the cute girl on her lap fidget while closing her eyes for a dozen seconds.

"That is the real power of your Gravity. It is a force that shapes and shifts the universe in ways large and small. From motes of dust to the largest clusters of heavenly bodies. It pulls and binds so much together... a powerful force that transcends time and space."

The blonde had let herself be silenced long enough. The things the reborn cultivator had shown... the feelings attached were amazing - transcendental, even. Yet they were not her biggest concern tonight. They could be analyzed in meditation later.

’I have to tell her.’

"I can feel it, El. Just as it connects the stars with their surroundings, so too does it connect us. What makes us... and in the pull of our spirits. The way my heart yearns for yours. I love you."

The brunette smiled up at her with a practical supernova of expression and explosive intensity of spirit that dulled the surroundings. For a few passing seconds, all Qatrand could see, feel, or care about was the existence she had chosen to anchor to... and not because the illusionist had pulled any sort of tricks!

Under the late night stars, the Yecine pulled the Goltbred up to her even as she leaned down. They met together in a kiss that did the same to Elua... for a few seconds she couldn’t think! The strong arm supporting her back, the thickly muscled neck, even the forceful press of lips were all disasters waiting to happen!

’Four more years, four-’

They remained locked together there on the bench - the ’black hole’ swordswoman growing and pulling the ’plasma’ fairy into the center of their own new universe.

---

When their lips finally parted, what felt like ages later, Elua felt another sudden surge of energy coursing through her spirit. It collected onto the precious fragment in her heart... reminiscent of the ’acceleration’ she experienced during the Feast. It was an unsubtle reminder of the *other* important conversation she needed to have with Qatrand.

She pulled further away, then stood to her feet. Her eyes matched those of the seated Yecine, her face still flushed but her spirit radiating ’seriousness’.

"Qat, there’s something else I need to share with you."

The blonde tilted her head in curiosity even though ’concern’ filtered out of her still wrapped tendrils. She worried that what they did might be deemed too far. That she hadn’t respected the problem controlling herself that El had already explained.

"What is it?"

The heiress took a deep, calming breath. Even still, the racing of her hormonal heart threatened to make her reconsider. She knew this conversation would be complex, but it was crucial for their future together - and keeping quiet when it involved her ’fortress’ just was not her strong suit!

’I feel like that has gotten so much worse since I told her I lived a past life.’

"Do you remember how I explained that, while they maintain a sort of connection to the original person, our spiritual fragments become something more mixed and unique as time goes on?"

The swordswoman nodded solemnly, her focus entirely on the illusionist’s words. Especially after it was clear that it wasn’t about their kissing! However, it was too early to feel relieved... knowing how careful the cute girl was being with her words.

"Well, do you also remember how I mentioned that there were ways that people of this region did not know... about making children?"

The coastal wind gusted during the silence, flicking both brown and blonde hair around.

"Please don’t overreact to that, as it isn’t as immediate or simple as you might-"

"El, wait. You mean..."

"Yes. There is potential in them to become our kids in the future."

The cultivator paused to gather her thoughts and she bit lightly down on her own thumb. She wanted to explain this all as clearly as possible, without overwhelming her husband-wife with too much information at once.

’Right. After showing her the wonders of the cosmos that only a Demi-God could see, I’m now worried about overwhelming her. I probably should have waited a day!’

"In my past life, it was well known among Upper Realm cultivators - and not an exceedingly rare phenomenon among Lower cultivators. At least the spiritualist Guilds knew."

It was something she once had an intense interest in, during a particularly long romance. So she’d done plenty of research by sneaking into libraries and archives that she wasn’t permitted in.

"When two individuals with a profound feeling of connection share fragments of their spirits, those fragments can be nurtured with that love over a long period to form a nascent spirit."

"So we are both carrying children inside of us?"

A strained ’smile’ grew over the brunette’s face before she reluctantly nodded.

"Yes, you could very technically say so... but that’s also an oversimplification too far. It is not like either of us is *pregnant* currently. It is just that they could one day become the foundation for new life, born out of a mixing of our spiritual energy."

The Yecine’s entire being thrummed with fascination, elation, and a core of trepidation. A shaky hand was held out towards the wife who she hadn’t even been bound with for a single day. Though... she sometimes understood that they were fated to be inseparable after their first meeting. Because El was El and she...

"Is that really... is that even possible?"

The Goltbred reached out slowly to take the nervous, calloused hand in hers. Holding it in place with her smaller paw underneath her larger palm, she used her other set of fingers to stroke the tough skin on the back of her Qat’s hand.

"It is very possible, darling. But... possible does not mean that it is a simple process. There are specific steps we would need to take and precautions to consider."

For a moment, she let herself actually consider it. Back when she stole the piece of her love’s tendril, she had not actually intended for it to include this result. Elua had only wanted the extra connection... the ability for Qat to know when part of a larger conversation that she was hiding something from others - or that she was teasing the Yecine.

’A spirit alone does not form a body. The materials we’ll need to perform the rituals correctly will not be found in this place. If... if she is willing to proceed with it someday-’

"Of course, it is also not something we need to decide on now. We have time - more than a decade. I just... can’t say how much more. That feeling at the Feast and as we parted from each other a while ago? It accelerated it, slightly."

Whether it was lessened by a month - or maybe more - in the average of eighteen gestating years, the illusionist didn’t know. She only knew from old records that it was never quicker than thirteen.

’Then again, there is no way that I’ve understood every Mandate that any new Divinities may have made. I hope none of them have fiddled with this method...’

The unpredictability unnerved her.

"I... I think I need a while to process this. But El - the idea of genuinely sharing this opportunity with you... it’s incredible. Thank you for trusting me and telling me."

Qatrand squeezed the hand, which the silver-clad bride of hers was using to reassure her, with ’understanding’. She knew now that the ’concern’ from earlier had been how she would take this information. If she was being honest, part of her was unsure now that she was faced with it.

However, the sentiment she had felt after the small growing tree ceremony for her spouse’s sister had not changed. Knowing that they could someday make good on the promise to plant more of them outweighed any amount of uncertainty. But even that was overwhelming her.

"I know it’s a lot to take in. I just wanted you to know that this is a possibility for us, when we’re ready."

The reincarnator leaned in, pressing a soft kiss to the hand holding onto hers. Now that she spoke all that she intended to, Elua was also starting to feel a little of the weight return to her shoulders. From her own words and admissions... as she had never once, in her last life, actually given birth!

’Actually raising a child. Me? How many old acquaintances would claim to be terrified of the prospect... and I wouldn’t have blamed them, looking back.’
