Chapter 24: Chapter 24 Do You Feel Guilty?

When Mu Yiliang woke up again, she felt as if her whole body had been run over by a car.

The room was dimly lit, and she struggled to get up, only to be embraced from behind by strong arms.

Hadn’t he had enough? Mu Yiliang was truly frightened...

"Young Master Yan, I should be going back," Mu Yiliang said, feigning calmness.

How could the man not hear the underlying message in her words? He chuckled lightly, tightened his grip, and half of his body pressed down on her: "I won’t come again. Just sleep peacefully."

Just sleep... Mu Yiliang looked at the time but didn’t dare to really fall asleep. What if Yan Sijue woke up first in the morning, and she wasn’t there when he returned home? That would be trouble.

"Young Master Yan, shouldn’t your wife have a problem with you not coming home at night?" Mu Yiliang whispered.

"You really do care about her." Yan Sijue clasped her hands tightly, pinning her down.

"After all, you are a married man. I feel quite guilty towards your wife," Mu Yiliang said earnestly.

"Ha..." He seemed to find it amusing, "If you feel guilty, shouldn’t I feel even more ashamed?"

"Of course!" Mu Yiliang said with certainty, "Don’t you feel even a little guilty?"

Even without her, this man would undoubtedly have other lovers and without a hint of guilt. As his wife, wouldn’t she be utterly miserable? Mu Yiliang thought to herself.

Yan Sijue squinted, seemingly stumped by her question.

Mu Yiliang, having started, decided to dive deeper, and turned to face him, speaking provocatively: "What’s wrong, Young Master Yan?"

"In that case, shouldn’t I cut ties with you?" He curled his lips, gazing at her with deep meaning.

Mu Yiliang’s heart skipped a beat, but she continued to smile sweetly: "If you truly decide to do that, there’s nothing I can do, no matter how much I can’t bear to."

Yan Sijue stared at the enchanting woman in front of him, and in his mind appeared the timid image of his newlywed wife.

Should he feel guilty towards her? Yan Sijue pondered this question, yet found himself unable to provide a definitive answer.

"Young Master Yan, what are you thinking?" Mu Yiliang asked leisurely.

Yan Sijue’s eyes flickered slightly.

"About my private matters, don’t have such abundant curiosity in the future." He gently caressed her cheek, "Otherwise, I’d have no choice but to break my promise."

Mu Yiliang blinked and obediently nodded: "I was wrong, I’ll be more careful in the future."

But inside, she was secretly delighted.

It seems he does feel some guilt, which is why he dodged the question.

"Um, can I ask one more thing?" Mu Yiliang’s face was full of curiosity, "I know your marriage with your wife is for a certain purpose, and you don’t love her. So, if your wife were to have a relationship with another man, would it bother you?"

The man’s eyes darkened suddenly.

"Alright, I was wrong, pretend I said nothing!" Mu Yiliang quickly pleaded, smiling in a friendly manner.

"She wouldn’t." Surprisingly, Young Master Yan curled his lips and answered her question.

What does he mean by she wouldn’t? Who told him she wouldn’t do such a thing? She would do it precisely because of this! Mu Yiliang was furious!

He enjoys wandering outside while expecting her complete devotion, yet firmly believes she wouldn’t cheat on him?

In his dreams! Mu Yiliang thought angrily.
