After eating, Li Qingshen went straight upstairs. Ling Momo cleaned the dishes and sat in the living room, casually turning on the TV and aimlessly flipping through channels.
From upstairs, bursts of music occasionally flowed down. Ling Momo tilted her head to listen, as if someone was composing a new tune—revising, regretting, and constantly repeating.
Presumably, this new piece was the theme song for Director Wang Yi’s new film.
Ling Momo lay on the couch, listening for a long time. It wasn’t until the music stopped that she propped her chin with both hands, tilted her head in thought for a while, stood up, and walked into the kitchen. She boiled some water, fished out the red tea, brewed a cup, and went upstairs with it in hand.
Li Qingshen’s bedroom door was slightly ajar.
Ling Momo cautiously peeked her head in, looking through the gap in the door, and found the man standing by the table, slightly lowering his head, holding a photo frame in his hand, looking at it with great concentration.
His eyelashes were long and slightly drooped. His brows and eyes seemed peaceful, with a hint of warmth on his face.
Ling Momo couldn’t help but be a bit stunned. This aloof ice-cold man actually had such a lively and gentle expression.
Who could be in that photo frame?
He was looking at it so intently and devotedly?
Just as Ling Momo was curiously pondering, Li Qingshen already sensed someone outside the door and suddenly turned his head, frowning.
His hair was a bit disheveled, but in that turn, it carried an extreme beauty. His gaze was a bit cold and sharp as it shot straight toward Ling Momo.
Ling Momo shrank her neck, quickly returned to her senses, and gave Li Qingshen a soft smile. She pushed the door open and walked in carrying the hot tea.
Seeing it was Ling Momo, Li Qingshen’s expression softened a little. He placed the photo frame face down on the table.
Ling Momo placed the hot tea on the table and noticed many crumpled paper balls scattered on the floor. She bent down, picked one up, opened it, and realized it was sheet music. Ling Momo carefully examined it for a while and identified it as the piece he had just been revising.
Ling Momo hummed it softly, then turned her head, looking at Li Qingshen knowingly, "Is this your new piece? I heard it’s for the theme song of Wang Yi’s new film."
Li Qingshen held the tea, expressionless, and merely grunted without saying much.
Ling Momo’s eyes darted around, and then she scooted closer to Li Qingshen, batting her eyes at him, "So, have you decided who should sing it?"
This time, Li Qingshen lifted his eyelids and glanced at Ling Momo. There was a bit of curiosity in his eyes. Ling Momo chuckled softly in response, but Li Qingshen’s voice remained indifferent, "No."
Ling Momo felt a secret joy in her heart; fortunately, there was no chosen candidate yet. She bit her lower lip and softly asked again, "Then do you think I’m suitable?"
Li Qingshen didn’t even look at Ling Momo and replied bluntly, "Not suitable."
Ling Momo’s lips twitched imperceptibly. Teacher, wouldn’t you hesitate a bit before answering? That’s quite discouraging!
However, Ling Momo’s face continued to hold a smile, a simple and cute one, as she deliberately put on an innocent look of eager curiosity, "Teacher, what do you think I’m lacking? I can improve!"
Li Qingshen frowned slightly and said flatly, "Nothing is good."
Ling Momo pouted. How could she be lacking everywhere?
Ling Momo clearly heard the refusal in Li Qingshen’s words, but she was still unwilling to give up. She rolled her eyes and chose flattery as a tactic, "Teacher, you’re so amazing; you can definitely train me well, right?"
