The assistant asked a few questions on the side and then hung up the phone before turning to Jian Chenxi and saying, "Sister Jian, it’s confirmed that people from You Corporation are indeed coming to ES Company to sign the contract this morning, but the person signing is not you."

A sinking feeling filled Jian Chenxi’s heart—it wasn’t her?

She had already agreed with You Corporation that she would still be the spokesperson for the new real estate project advertisement!

"Su Xi, are you sure your information is reliable?" Jian Chenxi’s tone was flat, yet her assistant Su Xi could clearly sense a chill in her voice.

"Confirmed," Su Xi replied, "He said that You Corporation had changed people at the last minute."

Next in line was her, Jian Chenxi, and she refused to believe that anyone could be more suitable than her!

"I don’t know, couldn’t find out," Su Xi shook her head.

Jian Chenxi’s expression grew even colder. She casually pressed the elevator button, changed floors, and went straight to find the SE production director, Li Dao.

When Jian Chenxi arrived, Li Dao was on the phone. She barged in straight away, and upon seeing her, he whispered a few words into the phone and hung up, then greeted Jian Chenxi with a smile, "Chenxi, what brings you here today?"

While speaking, he reached out to wrap his arm around Jian Chenxi’s waist.

Jian Chenxi, however, raised her finger and pushed Li Dao away, her expression displeased as she directly questioned, "What does this mean?"

Li Dao, obviously knowing what Jian Chenxi was asking, kept a smile on his face and feigned ignorance, "What do you mean, what?"

"You know what I’m asking!" Jian Chenxi raised her tone slightly, "What is the deal with You Corporation’s advertisement?"

"I’m not quite sure myself," Li Dao replied truthfully, "I just received a call saying that You Corporation had changed people at the last moment."

"How is that possible? You Corporation and I had already discussed it. I was still supposed to be the spokesperson for the new project, and who else in ES could be more suitable than me?" Jian Chenxi’s breath became slightly unstable.

"Calm down, don’t be so hasty. This came directly in an email from Enson, and it was CEO You Yang of You Corporation himself who said they need to change people. So, this time, I really can’t do anything about it!" Li Dao spoke gently to Jian Chenxi, but he was also curious as to who could possibly have the influence to involve both the CEO of ES and the CEO of You Corporation.

"Does that mean you know who it is?" Jian Chenxi pressed Li Dao directly.

"I really don’t know who it is. I only know that the person they’ve chosen is the Mysterious Goddess who is currently trending online, but I don’t know the real identity of the Mysterious Goddess either," Li Dao confessed what he knew.
