The Master’s Mask Unveiled Again
Chapter 946 - 945 My Capable Younger Sister

Chapter 946: Chapter 945 My Capable Younger Sister

Yun Sang watched his parents silently as they examined the car’s structure.

Judging by his calculations, they had spent more time observing the car than looking at him.

He reluctantly accepted this fact, glanced at his wristwatch, and reminded them, "It’s almost time. Grandpa is still waiting for you."

Yun Zhishu and Lu Xun finally turned their heads away from their conversation.

"Let’s go then."

Yun Sang drove his parents into the residential area after greeting the security guards at the entrance.

Tonight was a small family dinner hosted by the Lu Family.

Upon hearing the news that his eldest son and daughter-in-law were returning, Lu Beihua immediately called Lu Yutian, asking her to join them for dinner.

Lu Yutian was happy to oblige and arrived at Lu Beihua’s residence early to wait.

Soon, Yun Sang and his parents arrived.

Yun Sang retrieved the fruit basket he had placed in the car earlier.

Yun Zhishu suddenly realized she had made a mistake and offered Lu Xun an apologetic smile, "I completely forgot to prepare a gift."

Lu Xun held his wife’s hand, unconcerned. "It doesn’t matter. My dad doesn’t lack anything. If he wants something, he can just buy it himself."

"True," Yun Zhishu quickly came to terms with it.

Damn it...

Yun Sang silently grumbled to himself. Once again, he reaffirmed that he was the emotional intelligence ceiling of their household.

His parents either focused on finding their daughter or immersed themselves in research, leaving little room for anything else.

The three walked toward the courtyard together. Xiaoyang respectfully welcomed them with a smile, "Sir, Madam, Young Master, the Old Master is waiting for you inside."

Xiaoyang ushered them inside.

Upon hearing the commotion, Lu Beihua, supported by Lu Yutian, rose to his feet in the living room.

It had actually been quite a few years since he last saw his eldest son and daughter-in-law.

One reason was the distance; he had lived in O Continent for years. Another reason was that since the Yun Family announced their withdrawal from the Supreme Clan, his eldest son and daughter-in-law had been traveling and occupied with no time to spare.

He knew that they were searching for that child—a girl whose survival remained a mystery.

He didn’t understand who had given them such information. The couple had abandoned their corporate responsibilities entirely to pursue this matter.

Lu Beihua felt they were wasting their time and energy on the wrong thing. If they had spent this effort advancing the Lu Family’s research and expanding the company’s operations, the Lu Family would already have achieved great international renown.

But no matter how he tried persuading them, it was futile.

Lu Xun walked in holding his wife’s hand and greeted Lu Beihua.

"Dad."

Yun Zhishu followed suit, "Dad."

Yun Sang, on the other hand, greeted indifferently, "Grandpa."

It wasn’t particularly warm, but everyone maintained polite appearances.

Lu Beihua’s face beamed with smiles. Although his vision was blurred, his mood was undeniably good.

"It’s good to have you back, good to have you back. Xiaoyang has already prepared dinner. Let’s sit down and eat while we chat."

"Alright."

Lu Yutian supported Lu Beihua toward the dining area. As they passed Lu Xun and Yun Zhishu, she greeted graciously, "Uncle, Aunt, it’s been a while! I’ve missed you both so much!"

"Yutian?"

Yun Zhishu pulled Lu Yutian’s hand and looked her over, her typically composed demeanor softened by a touch of warmth and affection.

"Xun, look at Yutian. She’s grown so much. Last time we saw her, she was still in middle school!"

"That’s right. She’s a graceful young lady now."

The couple genuinely adored their daughter and naturally extended that affection to their niece, treating her with patience and kindness.

Lu Yutian finally felt a sense of reassurance.

She recalled how her uncle and aunt used to visit O Continent to see her grandfather. They would bring her countless pretty dresses and gifts and explain knowledge she couldn’t learn from textbooks.

Their care for her was tangible and heartfelt.

But during this return to the country, Yun Sang’s indifference made her question whether she had done something wrong or whether her uncle’s family had developed other priorities.

Now, her uncle and aunt’s attitude reassured her that she remained the only treasured daughter of the Lu Family, that her status remained unshaken.

No matter how Brother Yun Sang treated her, as long as her uncle and aunt still cared for her, everything else would fall into place.

"How are your parents doing? And your younger brother?" asked Lu Xun.

Lu Yutian answered directly, "My parents are fine. My brother is in high school and heading directly to Jinqiao University next year. My dad still often visits temples for worship; his mindset has improved greatly. Sometimes, he even leaves the company entirely for me to manage."

Lu Xun smiled faintly and didn’t continue the topic, seemingly treating the inquiry as a formality without significant interest.

The bond between brothers wasn’t particularly deep.

"I heard from your father that you self-studied your way into Qing University and will remain in the country for the next four years?"

Lu Yutian nodded proudly, sitting up straight, "Yes, Uncle. I’ll be staying in Jinjing for the next few years."

After speaking, she cast a resentful glance at Yun Sang and continued with a tinge of grievance, "I originally thought about staying in the Yun Family’s old residence, but since you aren’t there and my brother refused to accompany me, I felt scared and moved out."

Lu Xun responded indifferently, "The old residence doesn’t have many people around. Your aunt and I are overseas, and your brother often attends training. It’s indeed not suitable for you to live there."

He didn’t perceive the underlying meaning in Lu Yutian’s words and simply spoke what came to mind, honest and straightforward.

Yun Sang stifled a smile in silence.

"..." Lu Yutian’s expression faltered, but she quickly smoothed things over with a grin, "That’s right, it’s not a big deal. In a little over ten days, I’ll move into the dorms when I report to school."

"Dorms are great. Lots of people, ideal for group study."

Lu Yutian found the comment impossible to respond to and merely chuckled, "Uncle, Aunt, you must be tired from your journey. Let’s head to the dining room first."

The five of them settled into the dining area.

Sitting in the center, Lu Beihua engaged in light conversation, asking about the couple’s current situation.

Lu Xun and Yun Zhishu answered one by one.

When the topic turned to Lu Beihua’s health, Yun Sang was quick to interject, "Grandpa’s been taking the Nourishing Elixir. Just look at his complexion—it’s significantly better."

Lu Beihua nodded repeatedly, "Indeed, I feel full of energy now. Even my eyesight seems to have improved a bit. It’s all thanks to Yun Sang. Yutian couldn’t buy the Nourishing Elixir, but he managed to bring me some directly."

Yun Sang clarified, "It wasn’t me—it was my god-sister who has the skills."

"Yes, yes, the god-sister!"

The elderly man chuckled as he spoke, oblivious to Lu Yutian clenching her chopsticks tightly beside him.

Those words hurt her pride.

She had tried her best to help, but her grandfather constantly praised Yun Sang and Lu Mian, leaving her wondering where she stood.

She already disliked how close Yun Sang and Lu Mian were, and now she felt even more suffocated.

Lu Xun and Yun Zhishu exchanged puzzled glances at Yun Sang.

A god-sister?

The term "sister" carried significant weight for their family of three.

Since losing his sister, Yun Sang had never been fond of interacting with girls or paying them any attention—a behavior his parents understood but didn’t intervene in.

Hearing now that he had a god-sister felt as though the boy had changed.

Yun Sang took a small bite of rice, raised his finely-chiseled brows, and addressed his parents, "I’ll explain in detail at home!"

Lu Xun and Yun Zhishu exchanged another glance, curious about the secrecy.

Lu Yutian’s gaze darkened for a brief moment but she soon lifted her head, donning a cheerful expression as she said playfully, "Uncle, Aunt, now that my brother has a god-sister, he doesn’t care about his real sister at all—please help me get justice!"

"What did I do?" Yun Sang’s expression cooled immediately.

"You always defend her and ignore reason. I’ve been clear about how cooperating with the Watson Group benefits her with no downsides, but you didn’t just refuse to persuade her—you yelled at me... If it weren’t for the Lu Family’s development, I wouldn’t keep seeking out Lu Mian."

Yun Sang grew impatient and set down his chopsticks with a thud, exhaling sharply.

"Can we just eat? It’s her store; she can handle it however she wants. Why do you care?"

"I wasn’t trying to harm her..."

"It has nothing to do with you either."

Seeing the argument about to escalate, Lu Beihua hurriedly intervened, "Alright, enough of this—let’s eat."

The old man shook his head to stop the two from continuing and turned his gaze toward Lu Xun and Yun Zhishu, feeling almost resigned.

Lu Xun was busy carefully picking fish bones for his wife, while Yun Zhishu patiently waited to eat the fish—completely oblivious to the brewing argument between their son and niece.

Lu Beihua: ...

Lu Yutian forced herself to calm down amidst her growing frustration.

The years of good manners she had cultivated were gradually being unraveled by Yun Sang and Lu Mian, but she straightened her posture, reminding herself not to let trivial matters affect her. It simply wasn’t worth it.

Shifting her thoughts to current business affairs, she took a small sip of fish soup and turned to Lu Xun.

"Uncle, the family is planning to open a LOOK branch company domestically. Grandpa and my dad are fully supporting me in leading this venture..."

"Oh?" Lu Xun set down the plate of deboned fish for Yun Zhishu, poured a small bowl of soup for Lu Yutian, and nodded, "I support you as well."

"I know you’re supportive. But our company is facing a particular challenge right now." Lu Yutian glanced cautiously at Lu Beihua’s expression and, seeing no resistance, felt a little more confident.

Lu Xun, however, lowered his head and rebutted calmly, "Yutian, you’re mistaken—it’s your company, not ours."

His measured tone unexpectedly drew a distinction between the Lu and Yun Families.

Lu Yutian’s expression froze briefly.

Lu Beihua tensed his grip on his chopsticks.

Yun Sang glanced at Lu Yutian, the faint curve of his lips carrying an indistinct trace of mockery and indifference.

What his father had said so candidly severed any connection between the two families.

Family relationships were one thing; business was another.

Unrelated and unentangled.

This was also why he wasn’t particularly close to his relatives on Grandpa’s side. Back when the Lu Family decided to expand abroad, differing management philosophies split them into separate entities.

Under normal circumstances, dividing the family business was manageable. But what had left wounds unhealed was how his dad and uncle had developed the concept for the Doors System together, only for it to be seized and registered abroad by his uncle—leading to its dominance as today’s prevailing computer system.

The Lu Family built their fortune in O Continent on the Doors System.

The original developers could only look at their old and worn-down processor and chuckle with helplessness...
