The Master’s Mask Unveiled Again -
Chapter 841 - 840: I’m His Sister
Chapter 841: Chapter 840: I’m His Sister
She slung her bag over her shoulder and walked out, not towards the direction of the restroom, but to the backstage area.
She had agreed to meet Yun Sang early here to practice with them once more.
Last night, she had gone over a few new operational equations with Director Qi and had intended to teach them.
There were people guarding the backstage, naturally not allowing just anyone in.
Lu Mian gave her own name.
The staff member looked her up and down, their astonishment quite evident.
Such a beautiful girl!
Although she wore a cap and a long-sleeve outfit that covered her figure, it couldn’t hide the radiant beauty emanating from her.
The staff member coughed, "What’s your relationship with Sniper?"
"..." Lu Mian was not the kind of person to overstep her bounds or to take center stage uninvited. If Yun Sang’s real sister had indeed returned, she naturally knew to step aside.
"A friend," she answered, her mood not quite high, her tone indifferent.
She had assumed the staff member was just following routine, but to her surprise, they checked the registration list and shook their head.
"That’s not right."
Lu Mian was puzzled, and when she looked up, she saw Yun Sang standing in the corridor inside.
He leaned carelessly against the wall, his hands insolently tucked into his trouser pockets.
His gaze was mischievously audacious as he stared in her direction.
Lu Mian suddenly had a peculiar sense of déjà vu and, under some unearthly compulsion, blurted out another line.
"I’m his sister."
The staff member immediately grinned, "Now that makes sense."
Yun Sang, on the other end, immediately breathed a sigh of relief, his eyebrows teasing in a "let’s see how you’ll refuse now" manner.
Lu Mian: ...Childish ghost!
She adjusted her backpack strap and strolled in leisurely. Yun Sang looked around like a thief, "Your husband didn’t come, did he?"
Lu Mian nodded.
Then, a hand landed on her shoulder, and Yun Sang slung it carelessly around her neck with a gleeful look of having scored a big bargain.
"Good he’s not here, such a hindrance," Yun Sang glanced sideways, his sharp jawline evoking a handsome and cheeky smile, "Right, sister?"
Lu Mian flicked off the hand resting on her shoulder.
"Mind your image."
——
After they left, a young woman about twenty years old, in high heels and a well-tailored business suit, walked over with clicking footsteps.
She stopped and told the staff member, "Hello, I am Sniper’s sister, Lu Yutian. I have something to discuss with him, so I need to go in."
The staff member reviewed the registration list again, S God hadn’t registered this person.
"I’m sorry, miss, but since S God hasn’t informed us beforehand, you cannot enter," the staff member said.
Lu Yutian furrowed her brows and removed her sunglasses.
The staff member sneaked a peek and saw another beautiful girl, obviously from a wealthy family, pampered and privileged.
However, compared to that Miss Lu from before, she still fell short.
Lu Yutian pointed inside, "I just saw someone claiming to be S God’s sister get let in. Did you let her through?"
Staff conducting business formally, "Yes, miss, that lady was registered by S God."
Lu Yutian’s brows knotted tighter.
How could just anyone claim to be Brother Yun Sang’s sister?
Lu Yutian, denied entry, didn’t make a scene. She took out her phone from her purse and dialed a number.
Yun Sang, who had just brought Lu Mian to the lounge, heard his phone ring.
He lagged a step behind, "Sister, go ahead inside first."
Then he found a secluded spot before answering the call.
"What’s the matter?" His tone was cold and distant, like he was dealing with a stranger, a stark contrast from his clingy attitude with Lu Mian just moments before.
The call was from Lu Yutian.
Lu Yutian spoke softly, "Brother, I’m backstage. Could you please tell the staff to let me in? I have something to discuss with you."
"I’m busy, I don’t have time."
Lu Yutian understood Yun Sang’s rejection and felt uneasy, but she didn’t push it.
"Then, about the VIP tickets you were supposed to get for me, did you get them? I especially brought some people over to watch your match today. They’re all from the industry..."
"I can’t get the tickets on my side, just sit wherever you’re supposed to," Yun Sang said bluntly.
Lu Yutian, ever patient, tried to persuade, "Brother, I’m doing this for your sake, as well as for the Yun Family."
"Thanks, but no thanks," Yun Sang cut her off coldly, "You’re not my real sister, so don’t bother yourself."
The call ended.
Lu Yutian stared at her phone in disappointment, shaking her head.
With a gloomy look in her eyes, she glanced once more towards the backstage, but eventually, she walked away.
——
Yun Sang returned to the lounge with a sullen air, his teammates at the ready with their computers.
Lu Mian rested her head on one hand, glancing nonchalantly at Yun Sang as he entered.
Yun Sang forced a smile and, as he walked past her, flicked the brim of her cap playfully.
A chorus of elongated "ehh"s from his teammates carried a wealth of implications.
Cheng Feng immediately sent out a "Mr. Qi warning", "Captain, you’re playing with fire, watch out for Mr. Qi coming after you through the internet!"
They had never seen their captain so patient with any girl before, nor had they witnessed him opening up his world and letting a girl in.
And yet, with Lu Mian, it was like he was bewitched.
Yun Sang plonked down into his seat with an argumentative and unyielding tone, "He is not here, he doesn’t know!"
Everyone: ...
——
Sui Yuan remained vigilant in the audience seating area.
In recent days, she had gathered a rudimentary understanding of CTF and developed a keen interest in the relationship between Yun Sang and Lu Mian.
Therefore, she could also engage in occasional conversations with those few guys.
As they were in the midst of an animated discussion, a couple of young men approached from the back row.
The newcomers looked on in envy at their group of five and asked Sui Yuan with particular curiosity.
"Excuse me, where did you buy the tickets? I started trying the moment tickets went on sale and still ended up in the back row..."
