Chapter 52: Chapter 52 A Brand New Eden Garden

After assigning tasks to the Golden Dogs, Chen Jiuge, holding the principle of not undervaluing anyone, organized work for every Spiritual Beast; even the Plant Elves were not spared.

Ignoring Yue Meng’s objections, Chen Jiuge thought, I’m truly a great philanthropist! Where else would a master pay Spiritual Beasts wages?

Maintaining an ecosystem was actually quite difficult, but Chen Jiuge didn’t plan to accomplish it all at once. Currently, Eden Garden housed a large number of Spiritual Chickens and Snow Rabbits. Although the Medicine Snakes were voracious eaters, there were only three of them, and now one was missing.

To save Spirit Stones, Chen Jiuge made a special trip to the Hundred Herbs Garden Immortal City at the foot of Hundred Herbs Peak. He went there to buy a large quantity of Low Rank Spiritual Beasts, Low Rank Spirit Grass seeds, and similar items. These were intended to fulfill the ecosystem’s functions; they were the most numerous but also the least valuable.

In the Spiritual Beast Hall of Hundred Herbs Peak, Chen Jiuge spent all his Merit, Spirit Stones, and Spirit Marrow. He even exchanged a considerable amount of the High Rank Heavenly Materials and Earthly Treasures he possessed. With all this, he finally managed to procure the Feeder beasts and a large quantity of other Spiritual Beasts.

Handing the Spirit Grass seeds to the Plant Elves for planting, Chen Jiuge began to extract bloodlines. He was preparing to breed high-quality, high-potential Spiritual Beasts. For the experimental adaptors, he used Stone-dragon Lizards.

Although he bought few species of Spiritual Beasts this time, each kind contained many bloodlines. If every single bloodline were to be tested, even the Stone-dragon Lizards, which weren’t expensive, would cost more than Chen Jiuge could afford.

For the herbivorous Spiritual Beasts responsible for generating resource income, Chen Jiuge chose the Giant Rhinoceros, the Silver Moon Spirit Fish, and the Moonlight Giant Frog.

Although the Giant Rhinoceros was merely Fourth Rank, its massive size, tremendous endurance, and strength made it highly suitable for transporting goods. Purified by the Golden Finger, it wasn’t quite at Fifth Rank, but it wasn’t far off either. It was ideal for being raised alongside the Red Flame Sheep flock.

The Silver Moon Spirit Fish, a Third Rank Spiritual Fish, required an environment with highly concentrated Spiritual Energy for rearing. Thanks to its special beauty-enhancing effects and superb taste, its price had once surpassed that of ordinary Fourth Rank Spiritual Fish. The Spiritual Energy concentration in Eden Garden’s Spirit Lakes was currently quite substantial, making it perfect for raising Silver Moon Spirit Fish.

The Moonlight Giant Frog, a social, Fourth Rank amphibious Spiritual Beast, gathered moonlight at night. This large quantity of moonlight would condense into Moonlight Crystals. These crystals couldn’t be directly absorbed or digested but were one of the best-selling materials for crafting Magic Artifacts, holding considerable value. Plus, this arrangement would also provide Yue Meng with a place to cultivate—a win-win situation.

As for the rest of the Spiritual Beasts, Chen Jiuge planned to release them into the Five Elements Ecosystem. Of course, before that, he would also help strengthen their bloodlines. They were all Fourth Rank Spiritual Beasts. Although there were only about twenty of each kind, there were many species, and Chen Jiuge was eager to see a strong Spiritual Beast emerge from the group.

Finally, there were a thousand Stone-dragon Lizards serving as adaptors for various Spiritual Beast variants. There were too many mixed bloodlines, and Chen Jiuge couldn’t be bothered to remember them all. Later on, I’ll just see who survives and who is stronger, he figured.

From these one thousand Stone-dragon Lizard adaptors, Chen Jiuge extracted not only the Grey Stone Mouse bloodline but also four other bloodlines, which he then injected into the four previous experimental subjects.

Watching the large amount of bloodlines being injected into the four experimental subjects that could no longer change, Chen Jiuge felt somewhat disappointed. If bloodlines could be strengthened infinitely, I’d probably become invincible, he thought. Fortunately, these few Spiritual Beast variants possessed decent combat power and potential, making them suitable to be sold as stable products.

This realization meant that promising bloodlines—such as the Red Dragon Bloodline from the Red Flame Sheep, the Fire Dragon Bloodline from the Spiritual Chickens, and the Crocodragon Bloodline from the Plant Turtles—could all potentially become main products.

Then I’ll release these stably produced, high-quality bloodlines into that empty area of the Spirit Lake District, he decided.

Having organized his thoughts, Chen Jiuge began extracting bloodlines far and wide. As his cultivation rose and the Spiritual Beasts reproduced, he was able to extract a significant amount of new bloodlines. After placing these newly developed Spiritual Beasts in the Upper Spirit Lake District, Eden Garden was finally more than just an empty shell.

Right, I haven’t extracted the Plant Elf’s bloodline yet. I almost forgot, Chen Jiuge thought, his posture straightening involuntarily as he recalled his background. Now that I’m a disciple of a Heavenly Immortal, I can be a bit bolder.

However, I still shouldn’t recklessly use the Golden Finger in public, Chen Jiuge mused. At least not until I evolve Bloodline Transformation into a Divine Skill. Only then can I be a little more relaxed about using it when I’m outside. He never overestimated people’s intentions; with such a powerful Golden Finger, he was bound to become strong eventually, so there was no need to take unnecessary risks.

A large number of Spiritual Beasts filled the voids in Eden Garden. Though it still had vast spaces with few beasts, it possessed much more vitality than before.

Seeing the Fourth Rank Red Flame Sheep King dashingly lead its flock across the fields, Chen Jiuge wore an expression that said, "Lucky you," and muttered, "You’re really lucky. If Master hadn’t expanded the Spiritual Beast Garden, I’d have sold you all off long ago."

Chen Jiuge certainly wasn’t jealous of the Red Flame Sheep King’s dozen or so wives, nor its tens of thousands of underlings. He was purely considering the development of Eden Garden.

Just as Chen Jiuge turned to leave, he suddenly came back, grabbed a robust Red Flame Sheep, and said, "Let’s have roasted whole sheep tonight to go with the drinks."

He left behind an enraged Red Flame Sheep King, which bellowed until Chen Jiuge disappeared from sight. Then, as if nothing had happened, it lowered its head to graze. Even if forced growth had limited its Spiritual Wisdom, it didn’t mean the Red Flame Sheep King was a fool. The bellowing was a matter of attitude; actually fighting was out of the question.

Inside the small courtyard, after settling the Spiritual Beasts, Chen Jiuge sat eating a roasted lamb leg. He addressed the Golden Iron Back Ape Feeders he had personally selected, saying, "Starting tomorrow, you all will work. You need to capture a certain number of Spiritual Chickens, Snow Rabbits, and other Spiritual Beasts daily and release them into the Five Elements Ecosystem."

Looking at the Golden Iron Back Apes standing ramrod straight, Chen Jiuge nodded with satisfaction. They are indeed products of the Spiritual Beast Hall. The high price I paid for these thirty peak Fourth Rank Golden Iron Back Apes was justified, he thought. View the correct content at NovelFire

After settling these apes in the Gravel Forest, where he had previously kept the Stone-dragon Lizard experimental subjects, Chen Jiuge also used the Golden Finger to extract their mixed bloodlines. It wouldn’t be long before Fifth Rank Golden Iron Back Apes emerged there.

With the appearance of a large group of its own kind, War Song finally grew excited again and eagerly hurried off to the Gravel Forest to pick fights. Golden Iron Back Apes are social primates; they even enjoy group brawls, Chen Jiuge silently mused, feeling a twinge of pity for War Song. I hope it doesn’t get beaten too badly.

As for the possibility of them being killed, Chen Jiuge wasn’t worried. Apart from the beasts in the Five Elements Ecosystem and his own Contracted Spiritual Beasts, the Spiritual Beast Rings on the necks of the other Spiritual Beasts were programmed not to allow fatal injuries.

This was all thanks to the great Array Master, "Programmer."

Spiritual Chickens and Snow Rabbits didn’t wear Spiritual Beast Rings because they were too weak. They were mainly First Rank, with only a few being Second Rank. However, with the recent significant increase in Spiritual Energy in Eden Garden, it was possible that Golden Core Level Spiritual Chickens or Snow Rabbits could appear in a few years.

Next, it was time to focus on his own cultivation. Before that, however, he had to ensure his subordinate Spiritual Beasts were also cultivating diligently. He followed the path of a Beast Master, specifically the elite school. It would be a joke if his Guardian Beasts’ power levels lagged too far behind his own; needlessly increasing his cultivation difficulty was not an option.
