The Masked Vampire King's Accidental Bride -
Chapter 491: The crowning
Chapter 491: The crowning
Elliana walked downstairs after writing a heartfelt letter to Mr. Marino, her eyes neutral from all the crying she had to do for the pitiful love that she buried deep inside that box she placed on the bed as a gift for her lovely husband.
"Are you ready to go?" Prince Vincenzo asked, feeling no good vibes coming from her.
He didn’t know what it was that made her this... Unapproachable.
Her eyes screamed danger even when she had a soft expression on her face.
"Yes," she said in her soft voice, but today her soft voice sounded like the calm before the storm, and Vincenzo sighed.
Maybe he was thinking too much into things.
Elliana wasn’t the type to create a ruckus like that. He told himself, more like consoled his heart that was contemplated between his friendship and his duty towards family today.
If Elliana decided to do something bad, should he help her as a good friend, or should he stop her as a good royal prince? Why was everything so complicated?
Vincenzo looked at the girl from the corner of his eyes, his hands tightening around the steering wheel, turning his knuckles almost white.
"You will break it," Elliana, who had been looking out of the window since earlier, whispered.
"Hmm?" Vincenzo asked, confused.
"The steering wheel. You will break it. You don’t need to worry about anything. I promise I will only reveal my identity to them. No funny business," Elliana whispered, looking out of the window again.
"Hmm," Vincenzo hummed, unsure if that was a good thing either.
Elliana stepped out of the car as soon as Vincenzo stopped, and Vincenzo looked at the girl one last time.
"Wait for me here. I am coming," He said before leaving to park the car.
Elliana looked at the back of the leaving car and scoffed.
She didn’t want to wait for anyone today.
With a sigh, she turned around and walked inside the venue.
"Miss, your invitation card -"
"Invitation card?" Elliana asked, a bit confused.
Was something like that needed here?
Lucas, who wasn’t standing too far from the entrance, looked at the princess and glared at the guards.
"What are you doing? She is Prince Sebastian’s wife," Lucas growled at the guards who immediately stepped away from Elliana.
"We’re sorry, Princess. Please forgive us," The guards said collectively, making the girl nod and hold her gown as she started walking inside.
"I am sorry, princess. The guards are new from the A-class royal team and probably haven’t seen you before -"
"It’s not their fault. I don’t mind such petty things," Elliana looked at Lucas, who paused and bowed at the princess.
"Prince has been waiting to meet you. He probably is excited about how you are looking in the dress, and I must say, you look very beautiful," Lucas added, and Elliana hummed.
"Okay," She said before leaving Lucas standing there.
Lucas looked at the leaving Princess, his brows furrowed. Was it just him or was she a bit too cold than usual? Lucas thought before shaking his head.
The princess might just be anxious because the crowning was to be announced in a few minutes. He walked inside too to see his Prince getting crowned.
As soon as Elliana entered the venue, everyone’s attention went towards her, and a smile appeared on the family members as they saw Sebastian’s anxious eyes immediately calming when he looked at his princess.
Elliana looked straight into Sebastian’s eyes and smiled.
"And now that every family member is here, let’s ask our King to announce the results of the voting that has been going on for the last three days," Prince Santo, who was the host of the event said, and both the princes were called on the stage.
Sebastian wanted to meet Elliana, hold her hand, and feel her warmth one last time before walking on the stage.
He walked to where she was standing near the entrance, not moving from her place.
It was as if she was just a spectator of some kind of show.
"Princess," Sebastian said breathlessly, enchanted by the beauty in the dress.
"You look mind-blowing," Sebastian whispered, his full-face mask intact and Elliana smiled at the irony of the situation.
"Don’t say that, Mr. Marino. I am yet to blow your mind," Elliana smiled, her words woven around the hidden meaning of her sentence cunningly that Sebastian couldn’t understand.
"You always blow my mind, my Cara," Sebastian cupped her cheeks, making her look into his eyes and smile.
"Go, take your crown. I want to watch my husband reign over everything, everyone," Elliana said, and Sebastian smiled at the confidence in her eyes before nodding.
"As you wish, my love," he said before he leaned and placed his lips from behind his mask on her forehead.
Elliana closed her eyes at the feel of the plastic, her hands clenched around her dress softly.
It was funny how much she used to love these small actions of his and now they held no meaning to her.
"Prince Sebastian, we know that you are the only married prince among us, but you don’t have to make us feel jealous and rub it in our faces. Come on the stage," Prince Santo said, making everyone laugh.
Everyone laughed apart from Elliana’s friends who were sons and daughters of all the influential ministers that were invited and were looking at her in utter shock.
"She... She is the human wife that married the Masked Prince?" Melony was the first one to gush, snapping everyone out of their thoughts as they looked at the girl standing there with poise and three guards standing behind her.
"This is insane," Drake commented while Dexter looked at the girl with a sigh.
So his speculations were indeed right. This was the reason Elliana was running away from the kingdom. Her husband would never accept her identity as the dark witch. He felt bad for her.
Seeing her looking at Prince Sebastian with that obsessed gaze, he didn’t know what to say.
She really loved him, no?
"No reason, she rejected Daniel. I mean, it’s good in a way. If Prince Sebastian had heard of it, he would’ve sucked Daniel’s blood," Melony chuckled awkwardly, but no one laughed at her joke.
Everyone was too shocked to react, especially Alcinder and Samantha.
"This girl... How well she kept her identity hidden from us. I can’t believe we could never make it out," Samantha said after a long time.
She stood from her place to go and talk to her, but Alcinder held her hand and shook his head.
"Not now,"
They saw Queen Aubrey walking to the girl with a smile and Elliana bowing to her as the queen placed her hand on Elliana’s head, caressing softly.
"You look beautiful, dear. Why are you not sitting with the family? Do you feel uncomfortable anywhere?" Aubrey asked, and Elliana smiled before shaking her head.
"I just feel nervous for him," Elliana smiled, and Aubrey chuckled before nodding.
"I understand. Come and sit with us when you feel okay," Aubrey said, not telling her that she didn’t need to be nervous, her husband would get the crown either way.
King Abramo grabbed the mic and looked at both his grandsons before sighing.
"It was a tough competition and tough decision. On one side was my capable Prince Stephano who has been running business and kingdom along with me and helping with other things, and on the other side was my talented Prince Sebastian who has the capability of holding the kingdom intact in severe times and leading a battle with bravery," King Abramo started as both the Princes looked at the audience.
Sebastian’s gaze flickered to where his princess was standing, looking at him with an unwavering gaze.
She was just standing, not moving or doing anything. He tried to smile at her through his eyes to tell her to relax and not worry too much, but her expression caught his attention.
Why were her eyes glistening with tears? And why was his heart not believing that these were the tears of joy?
They were -
"I would’ve crowned Prince Sebastian long ago since it rightfully belonged to him if we see the hierarchy of my youngest son’s family, but I want to give equal chances to both my grandsons," King Abramo said, catching his attention.
"I am proud to announce to you the next king who will rule the royal Kingdom and the vampire species of our Orion nation," King Abramo paused and opened the envelope that had the name of the Prince.
"Prince Sebastian!" King Abramo said and everything went silent for a second.
Sebastian looked at his family and people, scoffing internally. He didn’t expect any joy from them either.
He was about to sigh when he heard the sound of loud clapping and his gaze shifted to his princess who was smiling and clapping for him loudly, making his heart melt. Soon the audience followed suit and the sound of a loud round of applause echoed in the venue, followed by people shooting for him and cheering.
Sebastian’s men whistled loudly as they roared in joy, making the man smile.
"Bring the Crown," King Abramo said, and Prince Santo stepped ahead with the ancient tray that was used only for the occasion of carrying the crown.
"We believe in you, son," King Abramo said before placing the crown on Sebastian’s head, making him smile.
Sebastian stood there proudly, looking at the audience as the powers of the king were shifted to him.
His heart felt amazing. It was what he had been working so hard for. He turned to look at his brother, who was looking at him already.
"Congratulations, you won. But I must say, you paid a price I didn’t know you were capable of," Prince Stephano hugged and whispered in his ears, confusing Sebastian with his choice of words once again.
Why does his brother keep saying this same sentence? What did he pay? Sebastian wondered before he looked at the crown of the queen that was placed on the side.
An evident smile appeared on his face as he looked at his grandfather in hope, who immediately understood his suggestion.
It was the time for the crowning of the queen since Sebastian was already married.
Sebastian turned to look at his wife to bring her on the stage, his body freezing.
Where was his wife? Sebastian looked around, his heart beating fast for some unknown reason.
